Peter was puzzled. He had indeed called the Bank of Amelia, but Tony Wilson had scolded him badly. He couldn't figure out how the Sullivan family's loan got approved. 'Maybe Chairman Wilson approved the loan out of respect for my father!'

Thinking this, Peter suddenly felt confident and began to speak smoothly, "Vivi, we're good friends. Since I promised to help you, I was definitely going to get it done! After all, I'm not like Ethan, who just talks big! Plus, you know the Brown Corporation is a leading company in Rivernorth, so Chairman Charles has to show me some respect. I called him this morning, but I didn't expect Tony to take the whole morning. I'll have to talk to him later!"

Vivi was surprised by what she heard. 'The Sullivan Corporation couldn't get a loan anywhere, but Peter solved it with just one call! The Brown Corporation really is powerful! '

"The loan is approved?" Henry asked when he saw Vivi so happy.

"Yes! Peter got it done for me!"

"Look how considerate Peter is!" Lydia couldn't help but say, "He said he'd help, and today the loan has been approved! Unlike Ethan, who's all talk and no action! Henry, are you sure you still want our daughter to be with him?"

Henry shook his head. "Peter is the successor of the Brown Corporation, and naturally, his connections are stronger than Ethan's. But I believe Ethan won't be any worse than Peter in the future. Let's not compare them anymore."

He then said to Vivi, "Peter has helped us so much; you should thank him properly, and also go thank the Brown Corporation!"

Vivi nodded, "Yes! The Dragon Chamber of Commerce owes us forty million dollars, and Peter has already arranged a meeting with Minister Davis for me. I need to go to the Dream Club to meet him, so I'll go to the Wilson family tomorrow!"

"Alright! Take Ethan with you to the Wilson family and the Dream Club. Let him get some exposure," Henry suggested after thinking.

"Ethan?" Vivi frowned.

Hannah nudged Vivi and whispered, "It's good to take him along. This country bumpkin has never been to a high-class place; he'll definitely make a fool of himself. Once he's embarrassed and feels inferior, he won't dare to cling to you anymore!"

As soon as Ethan returned to the Moonview Mountain villa, Vivi called him. "I'm going to the Dream Club this afternoon. Do you want to come with me?"

"Not interested." Ethan was about to hang up when he heard Henry's voice on the other end. "Ethan, you should go and have some fun, interact more with Vivi's friends; it will help with your future."

"Alright, I'll go," Ethan agreed, somewhat reluctantly. He went to the villa's garage and saw dozens of top luxury cars like Maybachs, Lamborghinis, Rolls-Royces, and Koenigseggs.

But since it was a casual gathering, he didn't want to be too flashy, so Ethan chose a Volkswagen Lavida and drove to the Dream Club. As soon as he got out of the car, he saw Vivi laughing and chatting with some socialites.

"Hey! Ethan is here!" Hannah said with a mischievous smile, covering her mouth.

Vivi shot Hannah a glare but didn't move to greet Ethan, knowing he would only embarrass her. At this moment, Peter, along with a group of people, came over to Vivi and said with a smile, "Minister Davis will be here soon. Let's wait for him at the entrance! Don't worry, even though the Dragon Chamber of Commerce is wealthy, they still have to respect me!"

Vivi nodded and said, "Thank you, Mr. Brown!"

"Haha!" Peter laughed loudly, "You don't need to be so formal. Just call me Peter from now on."

At that moment, there was a sudden gasp from the crowd, "Oh my god! Isn't that Samantha, the academician who's been making headlines recently?"

"I heard she bought Adams Pharmaceuticals yesterday. What a big move! I'd give up ten years of my life to marry her!"

"One day, I will, through my efforts, become a star like Samantha, admired by everyone!"

"Ethan, you're just a loser, an ex-convict. How can you ever be worthy of me?" Vivi clenched her fists tightly, her heart screaming with disgust at Ethan.

Meanwhile, Vivi was still looking where Samantha had disappeared, lost in thought. But just then, the roar of a sports car suddenly echoed, and a Porsche Carrera GT sped toward Vivi.

Vivi's heart skipped a beat, and she closed her eyes in fear, screaming.

Ethan's expression became serious. In a flash, he pulled Vivi aside, moving like a blur.

"Screech!" The Porsche Carrera GT sped past where Vivi had just been standing, doing a sharp drift and stopping smoothly at the club's entrance.

Right behind it, two Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedans parked behind the Porsche. Eight gang members got out of the cars, and two black bodyguards opened the Porsche's door.

As the door opened, a man in his thirties stepped out, wearing a black suit and perfectly styled hair, giving off the vibe of a gang leader. This man was John Davis, the Chief Financial Officer of the Dragon Chamber of Commerce.

"Welcome, Minister Davis! That drift just now was awesome; your driving skills are just like a race car driver's. If you entered professional racing, you'd definitely win something!"

"Minister Davis is really talented! Not only is he great at driving, but he's also skilled in martial arts. He even won third place in the national amateur boxing competition recently!"

As soon as John got out of the car, everyone began to flatter him.

"Minister Davis, have a cigar!" Peter said with a smile, quickly offering a Cuban cigar.

Without even glancing at it, John said coldly, "Is the sparring partner ready?" He carried himself with a superior attitude right from when he stepped out of the car, but no one around him seemed offended.

The Dragon Chamber of Commerce was the top association in Rivernorth, and its president, Aiden Smith, was known as the godfather of Rivernorth's underworld, often called the King of Rivernorth. Even after being imprisoned in ADX Florence for five years, no one dared to disrespect the Dragon Chamber of Commerce.

As the Chief Financial Officer of the Dragon Chamber of Commerce and one of Aiden Smith's top five lieutenants, John had every reason to be arrogant.

But right at that moment, Ethan moved like the wind. In front of everyone, he dashed forward and landed a hard slap on John's face. "Are you f***ing blind? Apologize to my wife right now!" he yelled.

His voice boomed with deadly intent!

If that Porsche had kept going at its speed and Vivi hadn't gotten out of the way, she would have surely been killed. Although Ethan didn't like Vivi, she was still Henry's daughter and, nominally, his wife.

The slap was loud and clear, echoing all around the Dream Club. Everyone outside was stunned. It took them a moment to realize that John had just been slapped hard by Ethan.

"He's lost it! This guy is absolutely nuts!"

"The people from the Dragon Chamber of Commerce are all from the underworld. They're ruthless and don't care about consequences. John especially—he's led his men to wipe out several gang families and has probably killed over a hundred people!"

"This guy actually dared to slap John and told him to apologize! He's done for! Totally done for!"

Vivi, seeing this, felt as if she'd been struck by lightning. She shouted, "Ethan, are you out of your mind? You're completely insane! He's Minister Davis from the Dragon Chamber of Commerce!"

"Minister Davis, this man is Vivi's husband. He just got out of prison and is reckless. Please, don't involve innocent people; let us go!" Peter quickly tried to distance himself from Ethan because he saw that the two bodyguards behind John had already drawn their guns, ready to shoot Ethan at John's command!

If this slap wasn't explained, Ethan would surely die, and both he and Vivi could end up in trouble. Peter was only here to collect debts; he didn't want to die!

But John seemed not to hear Peter's explanation. He was still stunned by Ethan's slap. Since joining the Dragon Chamber of Commerce, no one in Rivernorth had ever dared to slap him, much less demand an apology. In the past ten years, Ethan was the first, and he would be the last!

"Damn it! Kill him!" John's anger erupted like a volcano. Holding his cheek, he quickly stepped back and, with a furious face, pointed at Ethan and gave the order.
