Chapter 5

Ethan got interested. He looked at the old man and then at Theodore. Theodore whispered, "That old man is General Charles Wilson, and the middle-aged man next to him is his oldest son, Thomas Wilson, a colonel. The big guy beside him is the old man's personal bodyguard, Howie Miller, a martial arts expert." "The Wilson family is well-known in both the military and political worlds of Rivernorth. Also, Charles has another son, Tony Wilson, who is the chairman of the Bank of Amelia." "The chairman of the Bank of Amelia?" Ethan muttered, thinking about the Quinn family's loan. Just then, Thomas took out a thermos and gave it to his father, Charles. Charles shook the thermos and asked, "Samantha said if I drink this, I can recover about 80% from my illness. Do you think that's true?" "Samantha is never wrong," Thomas replied confidently. "She's the last disciple of a top medical master from Mystic Valley. Her potion must be effective. Just drink it without worry." But when Ethan heard this, he quickly walked over. As Charles was opening the thermos, Ethan reached out and pressed down on it. "Do you wanna die?" Howie snarled, seeing a stranger approach. He threw a punch at Ethan. The punch was powerful. It was strong enough to feel like a thousand pounds! Ethan caught it effortlessly and said, "General, if you don't want to die, throw this potion away right now!" Then, Ethan gave Howie a gentle push. Howie felt like a train had hit him, stumbling back three steps. Howie was shocked. He was among the top ten special forces soldiers in the U.S. Army for overall combat ability and thought he was unbeatable in martial arts. He didn't expect to meet someone so strong here who could push him away easily! Howie reached for his waist, but Charles had already drawn a gun, pointing it at Ethan, shouting, "Who do you think you are to doubt Samantha's medicine?" Theodore looked alarmed and quickly stepped in. "Thomas, this is my friend. Please, don't be mad." "Your friend?" Thomas saw it was Theodore and showed some respect but still said, "Theodore, people who talk without thinking aren't worth befriending. You should keep him in line!" Theodore forced a smile, not daring to agree. 'He is the King of Hell! His followers are everywhere in the military, politics, and business in the U.S.. I'm lucky to call him a friend, so how could I ever speak against him?' "Fool!" Ethan said coldly. "Your father's minor illness doesn't need medicine. Drinking this will only harm him!" 'If it wasn't for the Quinn family and the loan from Charles's son, I wouldn't care if he lived or died! ' "Doesn't need medicine? What nonsense!" Thomas shouted angrily, "This potion was made by Samantha. How dare you doubt it?" "Theodore, if you don't control this guy, don't blame me for not being polite!" He then warned Theodore. Samantha was the youngest female academician at the National Academy of Medicine. She was a disciple of Gregory, a medical master from Mystic Valley. She had cured countless difficult diseases. For this young man to criticize her prescription was just ridiculous! Theodore smiled bitterly and whispered, "Mr. Quinn, maybe you should let this go. Let's go down the mountain." Ethan smiled coldly but didn't leave. "Dad, that guy is just a show-off! Don't listen to him!" Thomas scoffed at Ethan, then watched as Charles drank the potion in one gulp. A moment later, Charles suddenly felt comfortable, and his breathing became easier. "Not bad. It's really working. After drinking this potion, I don't feel so stuffy in the chest anymore!" Charles said, looking energized and speaking strongly. Thomas was thrilled, saying, "Miss Reed's skills are unquestionable! But some people don't know anything and think they can criticize a medical expert!" Ethan sneered and held up five fingers, saying coldly, "Your father only has this much time left." "Five days?" Thomas's eyes flashed with coldness, and he said, "My father is only seventy. He could live another twenty years easily. Why do you keep cursing him? What's your problem? The Wilson family hasn't offended you. Then why are you doing this?" Ethan remained calm and said, "In five steps, he'll die." "One." "Two." "Three." Ethan turned and started walking down the mountain, counting each step out loud. Everyone was stunned, listening to Ethan count. When he took the fifth step, Charles suddenly spat blood. His head slumped to the side, and he fell to the ground, unconscious. Boom! Thomas felt like his head was about to explode. He quickly regained his senses, rushed forward, and lifted his father, trying to revive him by pressing under his nose and shaking him. But Charles's body didn't react, and his pupils were dilated. "Damn it! This medicine is bad! Please, Mr. Quinn, save my father!" "Not interested," Ethan said, continuing down the mountain. He had already warned them, but Thomas didn't listen to him and even mocked him. Why should he bother now? Thomas quickly apologized, "Mr. Quinn, I was wrong. I said some harsh words earlier. Please, don't take them to heart..." After that, Thomas gave Theodore a pleading look, hoping he would help. Theodore thought General Charles might help him with the investigation, so he immediately urged, "Mr. Quinn, Charles has done good all his life. He even fought in the War of National Defense when he was young. This illness is a hidden injury from the war. Please don't hold it against Thomas. Save Charles!" Howie also knelt down, saying sincerely, "I offended you earlier, Ethan. I'm ready to face any punishment! Please, save Charles!" "He fought in the War of National Defense?" Ethan frowned and walked back over, pressing firmly three centimeters below Charles's stomach. "Ugh!" Charles knelt, clutching his chest as black blood gushed from his mouth. Everyone was stunned for a moment, but then they saw Charles quickly open his eyes. His previously pale face had turned rosy, and he looked like he had never been sick. He was so full of energy! Thomas was shocked. He quickly thanked Ethan, "Master Ethan, your medical skills are amazing. You saved my father. I apologize for the misunderstanding earlier. If you need anything in Rivernorth in the future, just let me know!" "You saved my life. Please allow me to thank you!" Charles also thanked him. Ethan said coldly, "If it weren't for the Sullivan family's loan, I wouldn't care if you lived or died. But since I saved you, go ahead and approve that loan." "Loan?" Charles thought for a moment, then quickly turned to Thomas, "Call your brother right away! Make sure he approves the Sullivan family's loan in ten minutes!" Thomas immediately pulled out his phone, gave some instructions, and hung up. He then said respectfully, "Ethan, the loan will be approved in ten minutes! Please come with us to the Wilson family estate so my father and I can thank you properly!" "Tomorrow. I'll visit you tomorrow morning," Ethan replied, seeing the hopeful looks on Charles and Thomas's faces. He decided to agree, thinking he might need the Wilson family's help in Rivernorth later on. After Ethan left, a Ferrari drove up to Phoenix Mountain. Yvette looked out the window and saw from a distance that Charles's face was rosy, and he was walking well. She exclaimed, "Miss, your medical skills are getting even more amazing! Charles drank your medicine, and now he doesn't even need his cane anymore!" Samantha smiled slightly when she saw this. "I wanted to check on Charles's recovery and prepare some health supplements. But seeing how strong he is now, there's no need. Let's go." "Are you sure you don't want to go down and check?" Yvette asked. "No need. If Charles invites me to a meal to thank me, it would be hard to refuse," Samantha said, turning the car around and driving down the mountain. "Miss, you've been improving so fast lately. I think you'll soon surpass your master!" Yvette said, full of admiration. 'A single bottle of medicine saved someone from a severe heart attack at the city hall, and now another potion has fully healed General Charles's injuries. Who else in the U.S. could do that?' "Stay humble, Yvette." Samantha waved her hand modestly, though she felt quite excited. But her goal was not just to surpass her master. She wanted to surpass a man known as the "King of Hell." 'That man can revive the dead and make the mute speak with just one dose. He is my ultimate goal!' *** Meanwhile, Vivi got the news that the bank loan had been approved. She jumped up excitedly, quickly took out her phone and dialed Peter's number. "Peter, you are amazing! In just one day, the Bank of Amelia approved a $100 million loan!"
