Chapter 12 - The Research
Emily's POV
It's been over a week since I last saw my new employer, and I am back at the chateau, either spending time outside and enjoying the calming scenery, or losing myself for hours in the Le Blanc family archive.
Lucy had asked me to go back to the city with her, but I declined. I'm already feeling awkward about how I got this job, I don't want my boss to think I'm slacking off, so armed with the thick folder that Lucille gave me, I started to look into the history of the infamous pearl ring, and who had it over the years.
Most of the things that I managed to find on my own have been confirmed by the information Lucy already had. Although disappointed that I didn't manage to find any new leads, at least I know I'm on the right track.
