They were all walking through the packhouse foyer after breakfast on their way to the training ground and Rafe saw Orien look at his watch and then up at the sweeping staircase to the first floor. Knew he was looking for his daughter who was supposed to be coming to this meeting.
He saw that man’s eyes glaze over, likely he was trying to find out why Luci wasn’t down here? It was going to be an interesting day, full of annoyance for Orien. Rafe didn’t blame Luci for her reaction, she was only following the man’s orders. He’d been the one to send her to her room for the rest of the day and told her to stay there.
