Chapter 5

She wanted to look away. And she should because those two omegas were digging their eyes into her skull. She averted her eyes to introduce herself to the Alphas once again. "I am Lylia and I'll be taking your order." She politely squeaked trying very hard to not turn around and meet her mate's eyes. She then heard the giggling from omegas and she wanted to roll her eyes. Can't they shut up for a second? "Hi, I am Noel..." The Alpha said with a polite smile and then turned his head towards the menu. The omega looked around not wanting to disturb them anymore. She heard Noel sigh as he glanced at the menu and she didn't know why but she felt like clarifying that their food is best when he just cleared his throat and turned towards her mate. "Aiden..." He called out and the omega felt her ears twitch. She didn't know her mate's name. She whispered his name quietly, trying to test his name when she felt his eyes on her as if he heard her attempt. Lylia felt her cheeks flush. "What have you decided? Because I can't think of anything right now." Noel said with a huff and she was sure that manager was peeping through their kitchen door, straining his ear against the door to hear them. "I'm going with lobster... Sounds appetising." Aiden shrugged and she wanted to not stare the way his arms flexed under that shirt and he had a thoughtful look on his face as he stared at the omegas in front of him causing her to clench her fist, angry that her Alpha was paying attention to someone else. She had no right whatsoever over him after that last night encounter but still, she couldn't help but feel possessive about him. "Hmm...Sea food" Noel drawled as if he was not convinced to which Lylia sweetly interrupted, "Sir...why don't you try our meatballs and spaghetti? It's our best dish." "Oh..." Noel bit his lips while staring at the menu for few seconds before handing it out to her and nodded his head. "Sure" "And miss?" She asked turning towards those omegas who looked at each other for a few seconds before speaking in unison, "A Caprese salad please" "Thank you" She took their menus and she was about to leave she heard the cutlery drop so the omega turned only to notice a smirk on Aiden's lips. She stood there with menus in her hand and stared at the spoon lying on the carpet. She glared at him, hoping that he would pick it up himself. "What are you waiting for a waitress? Pick that spoon up" One of the omega angrily yelled while a frown took over the face. Lylia flinched at her tone. She wanted to pick it up before but now she didn't want to, only because she wanted to spite those omegas. She felt everyone's stare on her. "Can't you hear omega?" Aiden spat looking at her and the omega winced at his tone. She thought that he would at least day be on her side but why was he even expecting that knowing full well that he didn't want her as his mate nor he liked her. "Bend down and pick up that damn spoon" Aiden growled, his eyes narrowed and she noticed that he had his fist clench and his jaw tight. The omegas on the table cowered in fear not expecting Aiden to get aggressive all of a sudden. She felt Noel tense beside her and he had a confused look on his face. "It's just a spoon Aiden... Let it go" Noel said softly as if trying to distract Aiden but that didn't work as Aiden didn't even bat his eyelash at his friend, instead kept on staring at her. She knew that he must be waiting for her to bend down and pick up that spoon for him, like a bastard he was. She blinked her eyes and then reluctantly and bent down to retrieve the spoon from the ground. She slammed the spoon on his side harder than necessary and enjoyed the way his eyes widened at that. With that she walked away from their table and inside the kitchen, ignoring the stares of everyone on her. She couldn't believe that our own mate humiliated her like that. Unknowingly tears formed in her eyes which she aggressively wiped away and shut the door of the kitchen with a bang. She didn't want to let others know that he is her mate. That would be embarrassing for her. "What happened Ly?" She ignored Dylan's question and walked towards the chef and told him the order and then walked towards the resting table. She was annoyed and she felt like walking inside the freezer just for fun, she does that whenever a customer pisses her off. It is that cold atmosphere that calms her down. "I could hear voices from here Lylia. What happened?" Dylan asked following her to which she huffed and closed her eyes and clenched her jaw tight. She was in no mood to talk about it but when she felt Dylan stand there waiting for an answer she had no option but to confess. She took a deep breath and then tilted her head to look at him. "It's Aiden... My mate. He is here with his friends..." "What is going on Ms James? I could hear the voices and I'm pretty sure they were not good. It's not your first time here nor your first day..." The manager barked at her before she could even talk to Dylan. She flinched at his harsh tone but then meekly nodded her head, not meeting his eyes. She could feel Dylan tense beside her but before he could even clench his fist she held his wrist back. She didn't want to make even more trouble for anyone. "Get a grip for moon sake. Don't forget they are a valuable customer and it is our duty to serve them... Do you understand?" The manager hissed, his voice a bit louder than usual to which she looked up and bobbed her head. "Good... Now take those dishes back to the table. And be relaxed... Smile a little. Make them feel welcome" The manager huffed while staring at her. The omega sighed because she couldn't relax with her mate being outside with someone else. It just didn't sit right with her. "It's like you not even learned a thing in your course..." The manager muttered while rubbing his forehead and then walked back towards the chef. She let out a long breath. It was evident that today was definitely not her day. She should have taken a day off instead of showing up. She just told there for a while with Dylan beside her not even bothering to have a conversation with him. She knew that he was obviously not enthusiastic about the fact that her mate was sitting out there but thankfully he didn't ask her any more questions and just stood beside her with his back leaning against the table and having a familiar song which she couldn't name. "It's up!" Someone yelled to which she hurriedly walked towards the counter and picked the lobster and spaghetti plate. As soon as she neared the door she looked back at Dylan hoping for him to open the door for her because her hands were occupied. By the look on his face, he understood because he immediately rushed towards her and pushed open the door. Stepping outside she tilted her head and gave one last smile to Dylan and nervously walked towards their table. She placed the plates in front of the Alphas ignoring Aiden's stare on her and then walked away back in the kitchen. The salad place where are already ready but she had refused to take them before. With a sigh, she picked the salad plates and swiftly trudge out the door because Dylan was stood at the edge of the door, easily opening the door for her, instead of going inside again. As soon as she walked towards the table she noticed that there were wine glasses on their table along with a white wine bottle. She was sure that it wasn't her who placed them there. They must have asked someone else for the wine. "I hope up you enjoy your meal..." She politely smiled feeling proud that she didn't let her mate affect her speech. "Thank you. It looks delicious" Noel smile flashing his pearly whites and then picked his fork. The omega felt relieved and as soon as she noticed that everyone was digging into their food she thought of escaping from there, a bit relieved that she just has to come back to take the cheque ok or if they prefer to ask for dessert. Hopefully, they don't ask for dessert. It would be good. A she turned around her feet tripped over something and our elbow accidentally not the glass causing it to fall all on the ground and break into pieces. She clenched eyes hoping that it was just a nightmare and not real. She heard someone curse loudly beside her to which she opened her eyes and saw that few drops of wine were clinging on to Aiden's pants. "Are you f*****g imbecile? You cannot do one thing right, can you? You just broke a glass full of expensive wine and stained my f*****g expensive pants..." He angrily yelled while standing up from his seat. Lylia felt tears pool in her eyes at his hateful tone. "Oh my God..." One of the omega screeched while standing up and rushing to stand beside him. Noel just sat there unbothered, watching the exchange. Aiden hadn't even given her the chance to apologize. She noticed the manager rush out of the kitchen and had a scared look on his face. "Oh my God... I am so sorry sir. You don't have to pay for that wine...we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused" He started rambling while handing out tissues to Aiden and then turned to glare at her prompting her to come forward and apologize to him. "I am sorry sir it was an honest mistake..." She said not even meeting his eyes, fidgeting with her fingers. "Just get out from here" He snarled while taking the tissues from the manager. The omega felt tears down her cheeks so she rushed towards the kitchen but before she could go inside she felt Dylan's hand on her wrist holding her back to which she turned towards him. He took her cheeks in between his palms and as he was about to wipe her tears she felt harsh footsteps approaching them. ***
