Arianna’s POV After dropping Liana off at her school, I drove straight towards my club. It is everything one needs in times when you need to get away due to the pressure of life or something. It is basically a fight training club where we have many fighters. The club also has trainers to let some steam off when they are stressed. We have gym trainers on a regular basis to keep it operating. Also, every month end there is an illegal tournament held. Many come here to bet. It is all set. We already have an agreement with the police department. They don’t interfere in our work. This is basically in the area where many here are living a low life. There are regular street shops, small houses. Women bargain for the things they want to buy. We usually hold the tournaments in the basement, which is underground and sound proof. This area is on the outskirts and many people here are poor. We have many street volunteers who help around the club here. They also train here and take part in tournaments. Like this, they also earn some money. No one gives us away. Also, betting is like crazy. Many make a handful of money. That is why it is running peacefully. I reached the area. I hardly spoke to anyone and basically kept to myself. After driving along the path, I took a few turns before reaching an old building which looked like it had been deserted for a while. Even though it looks scary from the outside, it looks completely dark from the inside. I drove my car to the back of the building and parked it. My trainers were already present as I saw their cars parked along with some bikes. It is a full day today. I walked inside. I did not need to give the password as I was the owner. The bouncer greeted me, who usually guards the front door and also alerts everyone when there seems to be any problem. His name is Vito. “Good morning, Diego”, I greeted him. He looked up from what he was doing. “Good morning boss”, he greets me with a salute. “Everything settled for today's match?” I asked him as I entered my office. He followed right back. He is my assistant and the main trainer here along side his brother Sergio. They both decide everything about the fighters' training plan, their diet, schedule and everything. It makes my work so much easier. Also, they are the best fighters our club has got so far. Diego was well built with the height of six feet, two inches tall. He had big muscles and a well-built body. With that height of his, he can take down anyone. His brother Sergio was not far behind. They were neck to neck in their physical strength. His height was around six feet one inch. Diego always teased him. Diego is the funniest among the twins. Sergio, the always serious one. Diego is fair in complexion with his red hair. Sergio, on the other hand, has tanned skin. It is very hard to tell them apart because they have the same build and same facial expression. The only thing that differs between them is that Diego has a mole under his eyelid and also he is on the fairer side. Sergio is married to his only girlfriend, Lisa. Diego, on the other hand, is a playboy. “Everything is ready. Sergio will be here by afternoon. We have a total of five matches. Two will be played by me and two by Diego. We have three rounds today. The first one will fight me and then be carried on by Sergio. I will be taking on the last one” he explained. “Great. Where is Lisa?” I inquired as I sat down and went through the monthly accounts. “I am here”, I hear her voice as she enters the room. “Here are the latest accounts”. She passed me a file. “I will sort it out later. I am excited about the matches”, I said with a smirk. “I am too,” she grins back at me. “It’s time for your training”, Diego reminds me. “I will meet you in the basement, Lisa” I said to her, and put the files away. She went on to do her work. “Who is my partner?” I asked him as I took my bag. “There are many guys out there. You can pick anyone” he suggested with a smirk. I narrowed my eyes at him. He tries to act all innocent. “You sure look like you can blow off some steam,” he added. “An evil mind”, I retorted and went into the washroom to change myself into my training gear. I wore my black-colored skinfit leggings with a light blue-colored sports bra. Tying my hair into a pony tail, I walked out. Diego helped me with my work-out gloves. “Let’s go” I said. We walked down the corridor. There were many frames and gym equipment on the wall. It purely gave the gym vibes. The color was dark around here. We reached the common room and many heads turned in our direction as we walked inside. There were guys training. There was a low whistle beside me which I ignored. I always draw attention. But no one dared do anything as Diego was very protective of me. He treats me like his little sister. Even though I am just four years younger than him. “Pick your choice” mutters Diego from beside me. I stood there with my feet apart. Many avoided looking at me as they know how hard I train. As my eyes roamed around, I found a guy sitting on one of the benches. “Who is that?” I asked Diego. I was not discreet. The guy looked everywhere but at me. “He is new here. His parents were murdered. He is here to learn how to fight” says Diego. As I looked at the guy, I saw how nervous he was. His feet were tapping nervously on the ground. “I will take him” I said as I stared at him long and hard. Diego’s head turned in my direction. “He is a noob. It will take a lot of your time”, he informs me. “That’s alright. Nothing I haven’t done before”, I told him. “What’s his name?” I inquired. “Ric” he says. I turned my head towards him. “He has given only that much” says Diego. “How the hell did he get inside?” I snapped at him. “Sergio brought him” he said as he scratched behind his neck. “I will have a word with him later” I muttered. I did not like anyone coming here without being checked. “I will let him know” mutters Diego to me. “You may leave now” I said, and walked towards the boxing ring. “Ric”, I called out to him. He snapped his head in my direction and kept staring. “Is there anyone else here with your name?” I snapped when he did not move from his place. That got him standing and had his feet moving towards me. “Get inside”, I pointed towards the ring. He looked at me hesitantly. His eyes followed Diego behind me. “Go in” encouraged Diego. Nervously, he climbed inside the boxing ring. I climbed inside as well. “Fight me” I said as I took my stance with my legs apart. He shook his head at me. “You got no guts?” I raised my eyes at him. His nostrils flared. ‘He gets angry at the slightest provocation’. I let out a sigh. “You are here to learn, I heard” I said, circling him. He stood rigid and gave a nod. “Then what are you waiting for?” I raised my eyebrows at him as I now stood in front of him. “I don’t … I don’t know how to” he muttered with pause in between. “I am not asking you to fight. I am asking you to show what you are good at”, I said to him. My tone hard. “You are so skinny. You will be knocked out with one single punch and won't be able to get up”, I provoked him. I hurt his ego. He gave me an angry look. He looked confused and angry. “Show me something, so that I can keep you and decide whether to keep you or not” I said. I could see the hunger in his eyes, the desperation, but there was something missing. He was too nervous for my liking. Basically, a noob. We have to teach him everything from the start. “You are wasting my time” I muttered. I picked up his bony hands and shook them. “What good are these if you cannot even protect yourself?” I snapped at him. “Heard your parents got murdered. I am sure you stood by and watched” I hit the right spot. His nostrils flared. He was breathing hard. “Boss” Diego tries to interrupt. I stopped him with one look. He stands quiet. I turned to the guy Ric. “So, are you going to do anything about it or just stand there?” I raised my voice at him. “You have got no chance” I said to him and turned around. My ears were on high alert. I was hoping he would attack. Until I walked the edge, I did not hear his footsteps. I was confused. I had just caught the ring when I heard Diego’s panicked voice. “Hey, watch out”. I turned around in time and I felt myself falling backwards. I fell outside the ring with my eyes blinking repeatedly. There were shouts and curses around the boxing ring. I let out a groan and snapped my head in the direction where the guy Ric stood with two guys flanking beside him, so that he wouldn’t run away. I am sure my eye will be turning black. He has a good punch; I give him that. I got back inside the ring. The guy looked petrified about hitting me. “I am sorry, please don’t ask me to leave” he pleaded immediately and sank down on his knees. “These tactics don’t usually work here” I muttered. The guys beside him moved down as they knew I would handle him. Ric stood up and looked apprehensively towards me. “Come here”, I motioned for him to come near me with my finger. He took slow steps towards me. There was tense silence in the room. Everybody was holding their breath as to what I would be doing. I tightened my fist as I watched him, walking closer to me. His eyes roamed on my face. I am sure I have got a black bruise around my eye. The moment he was near, I clutched him by the collar and pulled my hand back. Before I could do anything, there was a scream.
