Devin curled up in his bed and stared out of the window. Josh’s tree house was in his line of sight. He was wondering if he should tell his parents what had happened—the incidents with the squirrel and the car.
He slipped into slumber after a while, only to be woken up again suddenly. He sat upright in his bed, his heart pounding. He looked around him, wondering what had wakened him. He shivered despite the warmth of his room. Nobody else was there but he. His eyes flickered to the window and he frowned when he saw movement outside it. Someone was climbing up the ladder to the tree house. Devin smiled when he recognized Josh, his smile disappearing when something caught his eye. There was someone else near the tree and it was Sebastian.
