Alpha Dwayne and Luna Luna Ada waited outside for Devara to come out but when she was beginning to stay too long, they inquired from Star, who told them that Devara would soon come out.

Alpha Dwayne was sick of waiting, so he ordered two of the guards that had accompanied them to check on Devara, but they found no trace of her and raced back to inform Alpha Dwayne.

“We can't seem to find Devara”, one of the guards who was sent to go check on Devara came running back, breathing heavily.

“What do you mean you can't find her? She was just in the room with…”, Luna Ada, Devara's mama, turned over to Star who was standing behind her with her head bowed.

“Star!”, Alpha Dwayne called vigorously.

“Look up and tell me you don't know where my daughter is?”, the Alpha questioned her.

“I… I… I don't understand your question, Alpha Dwayne”, Star feigned not to understand what they were talking about.

“You are going to pretend like you don't understand my question? Where the hell is my daughter?”, Alpha Dwayne, bellowed.

“Now she is your daughter? You call her your daughter, yet you condemn her and refuse to believe her even after all her pleading”, Star said, still maintaining her calm as she wanted to avoid seeming disrespectful towards Alpha Dwayne.

“How dare you complain about how I deal with my daughter?”, Alpha Dwayne asked incredulously and picked up his hand, about to give Star a steaming slap on her face, when Jason cut right in and the slap landed on his face.

“Jason, how dare you block my path?”, Alpha Dwayne growled at him, his stares piercing like a dagger.

“I am sorry, Alpha Dwayne, but we are in the eyes of the public. It would be better if we didn't draw attention to ourselves. We already have people staring at us weirdly because of the stunt Miss Devara pulled with the doctor”, Jason pointed out, as he atoned for his rude behavior.

“I will deal with her myself once we get to the pack villa and make sure she reveals Miss Devara's whereabouts”, Jason included, and opened the car door for the Alpha and Luna.

“You better deal with her sternly as I don't condone such insolent behavior in our pack”, Alpha Dwayne muttered with an annoyed grunt before he and Luna Ada entered their car and the chauffeur drove off, leaving behind Jason, Star, and a guard.

“And you, get into the car now”, Jason grabbed Star by her hand.

She yelled out in discomfort, telling him to be careful as he was hurting her, but Jason ignored her and shoved her into the car.

“This is what I get when I have an uncontrollable daughter who goes around humiliating me. She had probably done something as senseless as running off with a man. Why? Just why do I have to have a daughter like that ?”, Luna Ada, complaining bitterly in the car.

Alpha Dwayne scoffed at her words.

“If only we can be sure that our daughter ran off with a man of her volition and not because she was running from us and our inability to trust and believe her as her family”, he pointed out sadly, wishing he had just sat down and listened to what she had to say.

Those were his thoughts until he arrived back at the Alpha Villa, where Jason was waiting outside already like the conscientious young man he was pretending to be.

“Jason, I don't care about how you deal with her , but I want information about my daughter's whereabouts before the end of the day. While you are at it, send some men to search the areas to see if she is sheltering in one of those places she frequents”, Alpha relayed his orders and stormed into the mansion.

“Don't worry, I will take it from here”, Jason said to the guards who were holding Star.

“Are you sure?” One of the guards challenged.

“Yes, do you have a problem with that?”, Jason countered.

The guards bowed to show their respect to Jason before leaving him with Star.

“You are in deep s**t”, Jason muttered to Star, and dragged her into the dungeons at the Alpha mansion.

When they arrived at a cell, he pushed her in and stood at the door, glowering at her. Star stood there like a statue exhaling rapidly and observed him, waiting for what he was about to do to her.

Jason tucked his sleeves and sauntered into the cell, counting his steps. His eyes had become fixated on Star as he got closer. He couldn't hold himself any longer. He grasped her roughly, pulling on to her lips.

“Oh, Star”, Jason called out tenderly.

“Shut up and kiss me”, Star pulled him to her body and locked lips with him, their hands traveling all over the other person's body, caressing and suckling on each other's tongues and lips.

“Hold on, we might get caught”, Jason ended the kiss and looked over his shoulders to be sure they were alone.

Star and Jason had been dating secretly for a year now, and everything that happened to Devara was a thoroughly orchestrated plan of Star's. She had always craved to be the Luna of Gray Howl pack, and she knew the only way she could earn that was by getting Devara out of the way.

Everyone knew that Jason was the next in line if anything had happened to Devara or if she relinquished her place as the next Alpha.

Camp picaroon was also Star's idea. She was the one who had urged Jason to convince Devara's parents to send her to that abominable place. A true friend, that was who Devara thought was her. A true friend indeed.

I am still mad at you”, Star sulked, rolling her eyes at him.

“What did I do? Is it about how Alpha Dwayne spoke to you?” Jason asked and moved closer to her, kissing her lips.

“The plan was to make Alpha Dwayne and Luna Ada turn against Devara, not sleep with her”, Star lamented, her face settling into a frown.

“There was no other way babe, I needed it to be convincing”, Jason explained gently to Star, as he wanted her to see reason with him.

“You should have used protection then if that was the only way. Now, she is carrying your child. I should be the one carrying your child, not her”, Star protested.

“I am sorry, baby, besides you and I know that Devara won't keep the baby”, Jason pulled away from Star and perched on the bed in the cell.

“You are one to talk about altering plans, Star. We agreed that we were going to send Dev to camp picaroon, so what took place?”, Jason questioned.

“I thought about it and decided this was the best way to get rid of her. How are we certain that we will be able to kill her when she gets to camp (picaroon)? It's better this way, she trusts me, which is why she is going to call me and reveal her location when she feels she is safe and out of her parent's grasp, but unknown to her she would be revealing her location to the one person who craves her death”, Star Snickered as she explained her plan to Jason whose expression became a bit gloomy as he heard her plans.

“Why do you have that look? Or are you really in love with her?”, Star asked as she caught the change on Jason's face.

“Love her? Don't be such a pathetic woman, Star. You and I know it was only a mere act. My heart is yours and yours alone. I can't wait for the mating season to take place so that I can mark you as my mate”, Jason replied, serenading Star with the words she wanted to hear, but deep down he was battling with his sentiments. He had felt nothing but regret after the incident with Devara. If only he could control himself, he wouldn't have plundered her like that, he reflected quietly to himself.

“Jason, I hope you are not having second thoughts. We have come a long way to achieving this, and I wouldn't want you to ruin it with whatever thoughts you have running through your mind”, Star walked over to where Jason was and sat next to him. She turned his head to her side and stared at him intensively.

“No, I'm just thinking about what I should tell Alpha Dwayne, he may act as if he doesn't care about Devara, but he does, and he won't sit still and do nothing about her disappearance”, Jason said, even though that wasn't what was going on his mind.

“Ugh, I hate this”, Star sighed, annoyed at what Jason said.

“Hold on, let me think about this for a while”, she added.

She sat there pondering for some minutes when, suddenly, her eyes began to glint as it seemed she had come up with a solution.

She called out Jason's name and asked him to lean over to her side. Jason leaned over and Star whispered some words into his ears.

“Wow, Star, you are remarkable”, Jason commented, impressed at Star's idea.

“You are welcome”, Star said, grinning from ear to ear.

“Well, it seems duty calls”, Jason stood and arranged his shirt sleeves he had tucked.

“I am sorry babe, but it looks like you will have to spend the night here to make it believable”, he added to Star, who had no issue spending the night in the dungeons, as long as she realized her goals.

“It's no issue, baby”, Star assured him she was fine. She lay on the bed comfortably humming a song.

Jason returns to Alpha Dwayne and Luna Ada to give them the results of his interrogation of their daughter's best friend.

He revealed to them how, after torturing Star, she had finally revealed that a fellow had come to get Devara, and she had left with him after making Star promise to keep it a secret.

Luna Ada scoffed when she heard the entity of Jason's tale.

“I knew it! I knew that ignominious child would have done something as stupid as running off with a man. What a vicious child”, she spat and stormed out of the office.

Alpha Dwayne listened to the story Jason had just told and also his Luna's comments.

He knew his daughter, and she was not a coward to run. She would have stuck around to prove that she was not lying.

He put his palms on his head, something did not quite sit well with him about the reason behind her unforeseen departure.

He called discretely for his gamma and asked him to clandestinely search for Devara.

He had to know. He had to find out what the truth was.
