Checking In

{Miles’ POV} When I went back into Adelynn’s room, Lola was standing over her, and Adelynn was crying. I know that occasionally Lola can be territorial, and a little catty, but I’ve never seen her make anyone cry like this. I asked what was wrong, but Adelynn just shook her head, and Lola practically pulled me out of the room. Once we were in the hallway I grabbed Lola’s arm in my hand, not hard enough to hurt, just enough to get her to look at me. “What did you say to her? Don’t try to lie and say that you didn’t say anything, I know how jealous you can get.” I said sternly. “I just told her how awful we all felt for her, and how sorry we were that she had to have another surgery! I also told her that you felt just terrible! She shook her head at me, and started crying, I swear I didn’t say anything bad!” She said, as she poured up at me. “Boo bear, she’s your baby sister, I would never say anything mean to her.” She batted her eyelashes up at me, and I couldn’t help the small smile that formed on my face. “Thank you for being the best girlfriend baby, I’m so glad that I have such a good woman by my side!” I pulled her up slightly and kissed her cheek. “Let me take you out to dinner, my treat!” “Really? That sounds great!” She smiled brightly as we left the hospital, her arm interlocked with mine. {Theodore’s POV} I watched as Lola and Miles left the hospital, Lola had that smug look on her face, and immediately I began to worry that she had done something to Adelynn. I ran back up to her room only to find her crying, her eyes shut tightly. “Hey, hey, what’s wrong?” I asked, running to her side, I grabbed her hand softly. “What happened Adelynn, you can tell me, I’ll protect you!” I said, reaching over and grabbing her phone. She shook her head, and tossed the phone down. I sighed, looking over her, that’s when I noticed a bruise on her arm that wasn’t there earlier. I grit my teeth looked down at her. “I’ll be back, just try to get some rest.” I said, leaving the room and going straight to the security room. “I want to see the camera footage from room 414, now!” I shouted. “Y-Yes sir!” The security guard said, fumbling with the keyboard and pulling up the footage. I watched, anger rising in my chest, as Lola sauntered into the room. “Well, well, well.. this is the long lost sister!” Her whiny voice sounded as she flipped the lights on. “You sure did cause a lot of trouble for my boyfriend last night. He was so upset, and yet you just get to lay here, and ignore them!” She walked over to Adelynn’s bedside, and grabbed her arm roughly pinching her skin tightly, and twisting it. Adelynn cried out softly, but no real sound came out. “Listen here you simple b****! I am Miles’ girl, and no one, including his bratty, broken, stray of a sister is going to replace me! You are at the bottom of the totem pole, but me, I’m on top. Learn your place, and learn it fast, and we won’t have any problems!” She sneered before releasing her arm. The door opened, and Miles walked in. “Hey baby, here you are! I told you to wait in the lobby!” He said walking over, and wrapping his arm around her shoulder. I slammed my fist down on the table, and looked to the security guard. “I want a recording of this, and I want it now!” He nodded, and carried the file over to a flash drive and handing it to me. “Here you go sir, please let me know if there is anything else you need!” He said, going back to watching the cameras. I stormed back into Adelynn’s room, she had stopped crying, her eyes still red and puffy, as she rubbed the bruise softly. “I watched the footage of this room Adelynn, I know what Lola did!” I snapped. “Now listen, I know you don’t know her, or us really, but she is an awful person, and I’ve been trying to get evidence for a long time to prove that she isn’t good for Miles. Now I have that proof!” I said, holding up the flash drive. Panic flashed across her face as she shook her head frantically. I handed her, her phone and she typed out. “No, I don’t want to give Miles even more of a reason to hate me! He already doesn’t like me, the last thing I want is to break him up with his girlfriend.” She held the phone up to me. I shook my head, and pinched the bridge of my nose. “I’m sorry Bambina, but this isn’t up for debate. She’s been using our money, and our families influence for the past year. She isn’t good for our family, for Miles, and the fact that she met you, and immediately attacked you, I’m not letting her get away with this!” I snapped, she shook her head as her tears began to stream. “I’m sorry sis, but it’s for the best. You let me handle Miles, and you just focus on getting better.” I smiled down at her, and grabbed her hand in mine. I lightly tapped it, before standing and leaving the room, then the hospital. As soon as I stepped outside I pulled out my phone and called Miles. “You need to get home now! We’re having an emergency family meeting, drop off Lola at her house, and get home!” “We’re out at dinner right now, give us an hour or two!” His snarky tone shot back. “Get home now, or I will come and drag you from that restaurant Miles!” I snapped, hanging up the phone.
