A Demand, not a Request

1058 Words
{Miles’ POV} Lola and I had just sat down, and ordered our food, when I felt my phone buzzing in my jacket pocket, and pulled it out, seeing that it was Theodore. He was already mad, so the last thing I was going to do was ignore him, he was a force to be reckoned with when he’s angry. “You need to get home now! We’re having an emergency family meeting, drop off Lola at her house, and get home!” “We’re out at dinner right now, give us an hour or two!” I shot back. “Get home now, or I will come and drag you from that restaurant Miles! This is a demand, not a fu**** request!” He snapped at me, before hanging up the phone. I sighed, sliding my phone back into my pocket and looking over at Lola. She looked angry, and slightly annoyed. “I’m sure that you can be a little late, it’s not going to kill him to just let us have dinner, and enjoy each other’s company for a while!” She rolled her eyes, and took a sip of the wine that I had gotten for us. I reached over, grabbing her hand softly. “I know it wouldn’t kill him baby, but he’ll kill me if I’m late. Now, we’ll get our food to go, and I’ll take you home. Then tomorrow, we’ll go out for brunch, then a shopping spree, then we’ll go out for some lunch and dinner, we’ll spend the whole day together!” I smiled at her, trying to calm her down. She brightened up, and smiled at me. “Okay baby, but I want to go to the good mall across town! They have a new designer clothing, and bag line that I’ve been dying to go see!” “Okay baby, come on, I’ll go on and pay, you have them pull the car around!” I smirked, and helped her up from our table. She walked outside, as I walked to the counter, I paid for our food and asked them to bag it up. Once it was in my hand, I stepped outside and she was waiting by the car. I opened her door, and waited for her to get in, then I handed her the food, and closed her door. I walked around and got into my car, buckling up and driving her home. I got her home quickly, and said my goodbyes before racing towards the house. Once there I burst in the doors and looked around for my family. They were all sitting down in the living room, waiting on me. “Good, you’re here, I have something to show you all.” Theodore said, pulling something up on the tv. “This is what I rushed back for, some video?” I snapped, rolling my eyes. “Watch your tone Miles, I’m not in the mood to be dealing with you right now!” He shouted back at me. Soon surveillance footage of Adelynn’s room was up on the tv. “What is this?” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. “I went back to check on Adelynn after you and Lola left. She was upset, but wouldn’t tell me what was wrong, so I went straight to the security room, and got the footage.” Theo said, pressing play. We all watched in horror as Lola walked into the room. “Well, well, well.. this is the long lost sister!” Her whiny voice sounded as she flipped the lights on. “You sure did cause a lot of trouble for my boyfriend last night. He was so upset, and yet you just get to lay here, and ignore them!” She walked over to Adelynn’s bedside, and grabbed her arm roughly pinching her skin tightly, and twisting it. Adelynn cried out softly, but no real sound came out. “Listen here you simple b****! I am Miles’ girl, and no one, including his bratty, broken, stray of a sister is going to replace me! You are at the bottom of the totem pole, but me, I’m on top. Learn your place, and learn it fast, and we won’t have any problems!” She sneered before releasing her arm. The door opened, and I walked in. “Hey baby, here you are! I told you to wait in the lobby!” I said walking over, and wrapping my arm around her shoulder. “I remember this.. I asked Adelynn what was wrong, she said she was fine..” I said, rubbing the back of my neck. “She didn’t tell me until I told her that I watched the footage, even then she didn’t want me to tell you. She said that it would make you hate her if she told you about what Lola did!” He snapped at me. “Now I’ve been telling you for the past year that Lola isn’t good for you, now look! She attacked your sister, who was completely defenseless after having spinal surgery. She’s not even able to speak right now, and Lola took advantage of that!” “You’re wrong, Lola isn’t like that!” I yelled back at him, but I had just seen it, hadn’t I. She walked in, threatened Adelynn, and said awful things to her, before attacking her, completely unprovoked. Just then, a phone rang, and I watched as Theodore pulled out his phone and answered it quickly. “What? I’ll be right there!” He shouted before running from the room, but not before grabbing my arm and dragging me behind him. We got into his car and quickly made our way back to the hospital. We ran up to Adelynn’s room, and when we opened the door, we were both met with a horrifying scene. Lola was sitting on Adelynn’s waist, and she was choking her. “You told on me didn’t you? You’re a rotten little bi***! I’ll fu***** ki** you, you mutt!” She screamed, as her hands tightened around Adelynn’s throat. Theo ran over, grabbing Lola by the hair and throwing her down onto the ground. “That’s it Lola! You’re done now! The cops are on their way, and you best believe that we’re pressing charges!” He shouted.
