CHAPTER 5

Avalon went to his office as usual. He was revered by almost everybody because he is a Vice President.
One day, he needed to join in the meeting for a venture in real estate. Several people came as well from his office and from the office of the corporation.
As they met, the venture is between their company Instello Holdings Corporation and Venus Construction Incorporated. Avalon is explaining the venture and the money each company has to give as a share.
“Honestly, Venus Construction Incorporated is short of several million and we would like you, Avalon, to help us explain to our financier how this venture will be.”
“Sure. Who do we talk to?”
“King Alexander and Queen Anastasia.”
“As in the King and Queen? Wait, they will fund you?”
“Yes, they wanted to take part in this venture. They just want to know how and the risks they are facing.”
“I never thought the royals are investing as well.”
“How do you think they get all their money?”
“Taxes?”
“Taxes go to the government, they are only given grants from the government. In investing, they get extra for themselves.”
“So are we good on this deal?”
“You explain things so well, Avalon. And you can easily encourage people to invest in something good. Can you help us explain to them, so we can have the funds the venture needs?”
“Sure! Who doesn’t want to meet the King and the Queen? When do they come?”
“Is it okay if we go to them?”
“Wow, I am going to their castle?”
And he got excited being the first time that he can see inside the castle. He is not sure of his feelings though, and what will happen but there’s this excitement inside him that he can’t explain.
“Okay, just tell my secretary when and I hope I don’t have something at that time.”
“Okay! We’re good.”
Days passed and Avalon’s secretary asked him if he will accept the appointment. When he asked which one and heard the King and the Queen’s name, he immediately jumped into the appointment.
And the day came when the appointment is.
“Hi, Avalon. Can we meet by their gate?”
“Sure, Fiona.”
“Juancho and Albert will meet us there.”
“Okay, I will be there at ten so we can still talk before we get inside.”
“Okay, that’s cool.”
Avalon prepared himself for the meeting and made sure that he will make that impression on them. He asked his secretary to buy flowers for the Queen and some truffles for the King.
When they met at the gate of the royals. They talked about the likes of the couple and the manner they will strike for them to agree on the deal. He has been studying the couple in his own time and somehow knows what they need and want.
Then they convoyed going to the gate of the royals.
They spoke to the guards who later on opened the big iron gates. They traveled slow going inside. And then a castle with a beautiful garden display before them. Since this is a lunch meeting. They all wondered what the royals eat.
They halted their car and drivers valet their cars for them. As they entered the castle. One of the things that caught their attention was the marvelous grand stairs and the chandelier that hangs above it. The castle was contemporary and bright, pleasant and cozy.
Before the King and the Queen came to them, they were ushered to the garden where a spread of lavish food is served.
When the King and Queen showed up, everybody rose from their feet and greeted the King and Queen.
“Great day to all of you. I assume you are all hungry. Why don’t we eat first before we meet in the other room? Please take your seat.”
“Sure, Your Highness.”
Then the King signaled the head waiter and they started serving the food.
There was food already laid on the table, but waiters came for different ones that you can choose as well.
But Avalon smelt something while they were eating. It was sweet and too appealing to hesitate. He tried to smell all the food the waiters were bringing, but it is not that sweet smell that he looked for. The smell was calling him, inviting him to come. Too captivating that he has to look for it.
He stood from his seat and asked for the lavatory. He went to the lavatory to wash his face for the smell allures him so much and makes him deranged and passionate. The feeling is non compos mentis, he has to see what it is that’s pulling him into it.
He went to the lavatory and walked through the palace, he followed the smell.
The scent came from a breezy room where the terrace doors were open to the patio. Then, he saw the source, a beautiful lady who was facing the garden and looking outside.
She was wearing a flowing gown that the wind blew. Her long hair twirled its curls with the wind. She was tall, elegant, and alluring. The scent she conveys catches the inner being of Avalon.
As he looked at her, he didn’t know who she was, he just knew that there is something in her that captivates him. He wanted to talk to her but he is afraid to scare her or his vampire instinct might just pop in and do something stupid to the lady.
So he calmed down and soon enough a guard found him.
“I went to the lavatory and can not find my way back to the place.”
As he sat on his chair in the dining, all he can think of is the beautiful lady that he saw in that room. Her silhouette keeps on flashing in his eyes. Her smell allures him.
Then the King spoke.
“What is it that we would talk about?”
But Avalon's mind wandered beyond the walls of the room.
“Avalon....Avalon.”
He was awakened by the slight nudge of Juancho.
“Yes, Your Highness?”
“You came here for something?”
“Yes, I actually have something for you and the Queen, but I left them both in my car.”
Then Juancho whispered something.
“Oh right, it’s about the venture. As you can see...”
And he explained the investment to the King. It was to the point and no going around the bush.
Then he whispered to Juancho while Albert talks to the King and Queen about the investment.
“I saw a beautiful lady inside a room. She is so beautiful.”
“Tall, white, long hair?”
“Yes, exactly.”
“That’s their daughter. Finally, somebody caught your attention.”
“Excuse me, I have a girlfriend”
“Yeah, if we didn’t tease you and got irritated, you wouldn’t really care to court the girl.”
“What’s the name of their daughter?”
“Alexandria.”
And we stopped whispering because I sniffed that sweet smell again. And after a minute or two, the Princess walked towards us.
“By the way, this is our daughter, Alexandria.”
“Hello everyone.”
Avalon’s smile shone from ear to ear and his eyes sparkled with passion. Alexandria shook everyone's hand. As Alexandria shook Avalon’s hand, his eyes darkened and sparkled. He even kissed Alexandria’s hand.
