Something is up

Chapter 2

Holly’s P.O.V

I had been gone for a few days and was now heading back to see Mercury, but before that I stopped off to visit someone. We had talked for a while, enjoying each other’s company and then one thing led to another. It felt great, but now I was praying that Mercury wouldn’t find out, at least not until we got a few things straightened out. We had some business to take care of and once it is done we have another problem to fix. We just had to be extremely careful with hiding it from everyone until the right time. The whole time I was driving home I kept thinking about how I could pretend that I was still madly in love with Mercury, but it was hard. I mean sure, he keeps me busy with shopping and buys me new things all the time, but that's getting old. Why couldn’t he be like how he used to be? I still remember when I pulled him out of that trance he was in and all because he was missing his precious Cheyenne. I thought I’d taken his mind off her and he’d promised that I was the only one, but then I found her picture in his desk and that did it for me. I had to snoop because when he gets back from a collection or job he never talks and that bugs me. I mean I’ve been on a few collections with him and kicked some ass, but I’m never silent after. I loved it. I loved the thrill of not knowing what was going to happen and the adrenaline of hitting a big score. Mercury trained me well, but I think it’s time for a new era now. Time for a new boss. Mercury has been the Alpha King of the Mafia for centuries and I think it's time someone else got to take the reins. It's best to get this sorted out before anything else happens, I thought just as my phone started to ring.

“Hey, did you get any money out of it?” I asked, answering the phone on the third ring.

“Yeah, I did. She put the rest in the safe. I’ll meet you tomorrow at our spot, just be careful okay. After we get this sorted everything will be okay. They will both be gone.” Ace replied, but I shook my head, even though he couldn’t see me through the phone.

“It’s not going to be that easy, Ace. They are both smart and will know something is up, we need to play this right and figure something out.” I said, sighing.

“Don’t worry about it too much or you’ll give it all away. Trust me, it will be done before they even know what hit them.” Ace replied and quickly ended the call before I could say anything else, but it was a good job because I was just about to drive through the gates. I needed to get myself together before I walked through that door, I thought to myself as I parked my car. I wonder if he felt it, if either of them felt it and if they did, did they know what was happening or did they pass it off as something else? Screw it, it’s too late now. It happened. I looked at my watch and saw how late it was getting, then I looked up just in time to see the bedroom light turn off. Good, he’s going to sleep. I’m exhausted, so all I have to do is get changed and get into bed and at least I won’t have to deal with him until tomorrow.

Aura Senka’s P.O.V

“But mom, why do I need to learn this healing power? Everyone keeps telling me that I can heal others, but I don’t want to anymore, it drains me.” I said, whining, but my mom gave me a pointed look and I knew that I’d said the wrong thing.

“Aura Senka, we have been training you since you were ten years old and you’re going to be leaving soon so you can help her. Every elf has a special gift and every elf needs to learn how to use it so that they can control it. Your brother has the gift of sight, so he can see things before they happen and stop whatever it is, but even he had to learn how to stop it from suddenly happening and taking over him. Sometimes it doesn’t always work or happen like that, but we all have to learn and you will learn this. We will stop for tonight, so go home, rest up and we will start again tomorrow.” My mom replied, cupping my face in her hands and kissing my cheek. I nodded and left her to head home, but I was still annoyed. I don’t know why I need to do this. This woman is fine on her own. I’ve watched her and she’s safe, so why do I need to protect her? My home wasn’t that far away from my parents, just a few feet or so, mainly because elves never like to live far from their own kind and there are so many of us. We are all one big family. There are tree elves that take care of the trees and land, then there are elves that are so small you can’t see them unless you’re an elf and they tend to the small flowers. Every elf has their own job to do, some you won’t see until you’re right on them and others roam around doing all sorts of things. The elves that I come from are called protectors and each of us gets one person to protect and as you can tell we sometimes get powers to help us with it. I have the healing power, which is a great power. I can bring anything back to life, but, yes there is a but, if you have been dead for a while then I can’t do it. I tried to use it on my grandmother a few years back, but it was too late. She had wandered off and was hurt so badly that she was unable to get back home. She died at the edge of our territory and none of us knew until someone was patrolling the border and found her. I rushed to her side and stayed there for hours, trying everything I could think of to save her, but in the end I was unable to because she had been gone for several hours and I was so drained from trying, that I collapsed. I walked into my home and sat down on my couch, feeling drained yet again from today’s training. I had used a lot of my power and I was so tired, but my mind kept going back to this woman I’m meant to protect. Even if I was to protect this woman, I want to know how, seeing as she isn’t in any danger? I know in the past it’s been one thing after another with her and her family, from rogues to jealous idiots, but they always seem to win, so why does she need my protection? I scooted further down my couch so that I could go to sleep, mainly because this is so comfy that I always end up falling asleep here. I huffed when I thought about my power and how drained it made me feel. I wish I could have a cool power like the gift of sight. It would be great to see things before they happened, but no, my brother got that one, so here I am feeling drained, tired and like I just ran a marathon backwards. I seriously needed to get some sleep as tomorrow I will have to see where she is and watch her for a few hours to make sure she’s safe, not that anything ever happens to her that she can’t handle, then I have to come home and train. I closed my eyes and soon sleep took over me, but then I was suddenly in the middle of a forest and I knew that it was because someone very important wanted to speak to me. I would fall asleep and the Moon Goddess would come and talk to me. It’s been happening since I was ten years old and she has been watching me grow up, helping me train, so I call her Aunt Selena, plus I don’t feel as drained when I’m done.

“Alright, Aunt Selena, come out, come out, wherever you are.” I said and then I heard her chuckle before she appeared to me.

“Now Aura Senka, don’t be so demanding.” She replied, making me smirk, but then she looked really worried.

“Are you alright, you look stressed?” I asked, wondering what could stress out a Moon Goddess so much that it showed on her face.

“Listen Aura, you need to fully understand what I’m about to tell you, so please don’t interrupt me until I’ve finished.” Aunt Selena replied and I quickly nodded. s**t, this must be serious.

“Firstly, I can hear your thoughts, so mind your language, young lady. Secondly, I made a huge mistake, one that I really didn’t think it through. When I brought Cheyenne back I thought it would be a good idea to give her a second chance mate, so that she could start fresh, but he fooled everyone, including me. Cheyenne and Mercury will need to find their way back to each other and it will be up to you to figure out how to help them. I can’t interfere with their lives anymore, not after I took it upon myself to bring her back and got in trouble with the higher ups. They are so angry with me that I was lucky they didn’t punish me by turning me back into a werewolf, but they are giving me this chance to make things right. Just make sure that Cheyenne is safe. I don’t need her dying on me and needing to be brought back a second time to make things right, that really would land me in it.” Aunt Selena, scolding me and then shocking me with this huge task.

“Aunt Selena, are you telling me that not only do I have to protect this woman, that I now have to find a way to get her and her first mate, Mercury Black, back together? This is an insane plan, you know that, right?” I asked, wanting to make sure I heard her right.

“Yes, I know it is, Aura, but I have faith that you will be able to do this and for doing this I will grant you any mate that you desire, but only one mate.” Aunt Selena replied, shocking me even more.

“I only want one. Who in their right mind would want two mates, now that is insane and even more tiring than training.” I said, laughing a little.

“You need to get going, you have a busy day ahead of you, starting with watching over her and then training. I need you to be ready for anything and everything that could and will happen.” Aunt Selena said, hugging me and then I woke up in my bed. I swear she does this every time, I fall asleep on my comfy couch and she makes sure I land in my comfy bed. Oh well, saves me having to walk. I shook my head and sighed as I thought over everything she had just told me. This s**t is going to take a miracle to sort out.

“Sorry, Aunt Selena.” I said out loud, knowing that she could still hear my thoughts and I didn’t want to be scolded for swearing again. I looked at the time and saw that it was the middle of the night, so I lay back and pulled the covers back over me, drifting back back to sleep.

Cheyenne’s P.O.V

The morning came and I woke up, getting the sleep out of my eyes. Today I wanted to train. I wanted to stay busy, especially seeing as our daughter has grown up and has a mate of her own now. I stretched and got out of bed, going to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a quick shower, then I got dressed and made my way downstairs. The pack house was busy as usual, so I headed outside to the training grounds, where the warriors were waiting for me. I wanted this pack to be as strong as I knew they could be and even though I was tough, the warriors still loved me, but not as much as their Alpha, Ace, which was understandable. We trained for six hours straight, doing warm ups, sparring and when we were finally done everyone was worn out.

“Alright everyone, go home, shower, rest up or do whatever you want to do. Y’all deserve it for training as hard as you have today.” I announced to everyone and they all nodded before leaving. I went back into the pack house to see if I could find Ace and he was in his office, talking on the phone to someone, but when he saw me he hung up the phone and smiled at me. Huh? That was weird, normally I have to wait for him to finish up.

“Did I interrupt the call?” I asked, but he shook his head no.

“No, not really, but I have to leave in a few hours to be at the council. They want an alpha meeting for some reason. Something about a rogue attack, which seems pretty trivial to me, but it must be important for them to want a meeting. I’ll be home around ten tonight.” Ace replied and I nodded, looking into his eyes. Something was off and I knew it, I wasn’t stupid, but I’ll let it go this time.

“You want to join me in the shower, practice making babies?” I asked, wiggling my eyebrows at him. He chuckled and tossed me over his shoulder, leaving the office and heading upstairs to our bedroom. I laughed as he practically ran into the bathroom, but when we were in there he didn’t waste any time in stripping us both out of our clothes. I got in the shower, but was quickly pushed up against the wall in a heated kiss, as his hands roamed down my body. He wanted me so much that he wasted no time in moving his fingers to my entrance and then pushing them inside me, making me moan out. I could feel his hardened d**k on my thigh, so I began stroking it up and down while he reached to suck on my n*****s, nipping at them as he did so. He lifted my legs, wrapping them around his waist and then shoved his thick c**k deep inside me, making me scream out and throw my head back. He thrust in and out of me a few times before biting down on my marking spot and making me scream so loud that it echoed off the walls. I knew he was getting close because he always bit me just before he was about to c*m, but this time it was like he was trying to hold back. I wasn’t complaining, this felt incredible and the fact that he wanted more made me feel great. He carried me from the shower and sat me on top of the bathroom counter, all the time still inside me and then he began to f**k me even harder. I was moving my hips with him, as my breasts bounced and all the stuff on the counter fell onto the floor or into the sink. I felt him tense up and just as I reached my orgasm he came deep inside me. We stayed still for a few minutes, resting on each other as we caught our breath before he carried me back into the shower and pulled out of me, then set me down. We washed each other's bodies and dried each other off before going back into the bedroom. I was completely exhausted after that, but I still wanted more, even though I knew that he had to get going for whatever this meeting thing was.

“I’ll be back soon, my love and then we will continue what we were doing.” Ace said and I nodded, before kissing him and biting down on his lower lip, growling at him.

“Just hurry back and be careful. I’ll be waiting.” I replied, watching as he got dressed and hurried out the door.
