Chapter 3

Early the next day, Xavier began his daily physical training routine as soon as he opened his eyes. Xavier stripped down to just shorts, revealing a perfectly sculpted male physique. His bronzed muscles rippled, tracing perfect curves. No one could have guessed that beneath Xavier's delicate facial features lay such a powerful body, let alone imagined the immense strength it could unleash in an instant. Xavier planted his hands firmly on the ground and began performing a set of standard push-ups. Every morning, he would perform one hundred push-ups, one hundred sit-ups, and one hundred pull-ups. This is a habit he had cultivated since childhood to build muscular endurance and resilience. "Clank!" Amid the repeated sound of doors opening, 30 prison guards marched in a grand procession to the fifth floor, escorting the 20 inmates toward the cafeteria. The cafeteria was situated at the rear of Xavier's block, spanning an area equivalent to two football fields. When they reached the cafeteria, it was packed with a dense crowd of inmates and heavily armed prison guards. Despite their defiant and arrogant appearances, the inmates were surprisingly obedient. Perhaps the electric shocks from the guards' stun batons had served as a warning for such behavior. After picking up his breakfast, Xavier was escorted by two prison guards to a table for four. As soon as Xavier sat down, Jaguar leaned in with a grin, "Nice breakfast, huh? They even have eggs here. At least, it's better than what I've haven before. I should've come here earlier." Xavier showed no interest in conversing with Jaguar and ate his breakfast in silence. Obviously hitting a dead end with Xavier, Jaguar shrugged in resignation and shifted his focus to a lanky inmate named Jack, whose arm was covered in red heart tattoos. "Hey buddy, I remember you're from Cell 515. Those tattoos on your arm are pretty unique. Do they carry any special meaning?" Jack gave him a glance and chuckled, "These tattoos? They're meaningful, alright. Each red heart stands for someone I've raped and tortured to death, male and female twenty-seven in total. Hehe." Xavier's gaze flickered at Jack's words. He gave Jack a casual glance without showing any special emotion and then continued eating with his head down. Jaguar responded with interest, "Male and female? Well, you do have diverse s****l tastes." Jack proudly declared, "Every time I am done with them, I like to break their necks and use their blood to create a red heart tattoo." Jaguar nodded and said, "Impressive, you've got quite a personality. But I'm not into these things. Let's move on to other topics. How long have you been here?" Jack replied, "Over a year." Jaguar smiled and asked, "Then you must know a lot about this prison. We just arrived yesterday. Could you give us a quick rundown?" Jack gave Jaguar and Xavier a thorough look before commenting, "No wonder you seem new. This place is called the Death House, and it's divided into four wings: East, West, South, and North, with each wing housing about 2,000 inmates. The East Wing has six blocks: A, B, C, D, E, and F. We're in Block F, which is the most ordinary of the six." Jack proudly declared, "Did you know that there's a top dog in each block of East Wing? They are known collectively as the six kingpins of East Wing, ruling over everyone else. Our kingpin in Block F is named Chalk. He is quite an arrogant fellow, but he ended up in the hospital recently after being injured by Reaper from A Block." Jack continued with his introduction, "By the way, speaking of this, it's necessary to give you a thorough introduction to the six kingpins of East Wing." The kingpin of Block A was Reaper. He was once a major who executed many dangerous special missions, earning a great deal of honor for the country. After inadvertently offending a senator's son in a hotel brawl, he was framed and ended up here. Despite facing numerous assassination attempts here, he managed to thwart them all. He was widely acknowledged as the top dog in the East Wing. The kingpin of Block B was Titan. He was a legendary underground boxing champion, renowned for his formidable fighting abilities. To this day, he was still a timeless legend in the world of underground boxing. The kingpin of Block C was called Viper, a prominent drug lord and the top clients in the Golden Triangle. He used to traffic large quantities of drugs into central Euluvia on a regular basis. Ruthless and cunning, he was nicknamed the Drug Sack. Viper's downfall came when his trusted subordinate betrayed him and leaked his whereabouts to the police. He was trapped in the moutains for five days and was eventually caught by the police. The kingpin of Block D went by the nickname Duke. He was once the local underworld godfather, but his arrogance led him to ignore multiple warnings from the state government. He even went as far as threatening the State Governor, so he was ultimately arrested by the government agents. The kingpin of Block E was Iceblade, an infamous assassin ranked among the top fifty killers worldwide. Known for his formidable skills and ruthless killing methods, he was wanted by major underworld criminal gangs all over the globe. Surprisingly, he ended up turning himself in and sought refuge in prison. Lastly, the kingpin of F Block was known as Chalk. He was a retired reconnaissance soldier. After retiring and finding himself unoccupied, he attempted to kill the president two years ago, which led to his arrest by the authorities. Jack proudly exclaimed, "So, those are the six kingpins of the East Wing! They despise each other, so fights frequently break out among them. Our prison is unlike any other; we have two hours of yard time every morning and evening. In other times, we have to stay in cells. Additionally, there's an unwritten rule in this prison that fights during yard time would not be intervened." Hearing Jack's words, Jaguar's eyes suddenly lit up with the fire of enthusiasm. He stared intensely at Jack, his eyes blazing with excitement, like a predator spotting its prey. Jaguar's unmasked fervor scared Jack into an involuntary shiver, spilling the milk from his cup. Jaguar eagerly excitedly, "Are you saying... we can fight as we please?" Jack's mouth twitched as he forced a smile. "We cannot exactly fight as we please, but... we can fight." Jaguar grew even more excited, "And the guards won't stop us?" Jack commented, "The guards don't care! The six kingpins and the guards are quite familiar with each other. And to be frank, we are doomed to die. We've lost all hope for life, so fighting lets us blow off steam... That's why during the yard time, the guards would just sit on the wall and watch the fighting show. Even if hundreds of people die in the fight, they still won't bother to lift a finger." Jaguar suddenly revealed a bloodthirsty grin. "Hahaha, it’s delightful. Reaper, Titan, Viper, Duke, Iceblade, and Chalk. Thanks for telling me about them. Not bad, this is not bad at all." Jaguar turned to look at Xavier, who was chewing slowly, and remarked, "This prison is like a coliseum; it really gets my blood pumping. Since we can't escape anyway, why don't you and I join forces and take down those so-called six kingpins of the East Wing?" Jack's complexion paled at those words, and it was a long time before he nervously swallowed his saliva out of visible fear. Though Jaguar's voice wasn't exactly booming, it wasn't subtle either. As soon as he finished speaking, the whole cafeteria slowly quieted down, all eyes fixed on him. All the inmates focused their gaze on Jaguar, who wore a sinister grin, and on Xavier, who looked as calm as ever. Xavier said to Jaguar with a smirk, "You're in trouble!" Jaguar chuckled, "No, this isn't trouble for me. It's life's greatest pleasure." Rising to his feet abruptly, Jaguar shouted, "Come on, who's up for a real fight with me?"
