Chapter 1
On a street in the Crown Heights District, Newbrook State, a good-looking young man slowly approached a nightclub named "Nightshade City" with a knife in his hand. He appeared to be seventeen or eighteen years old, and his name was Xavier Young. A few days ago, Xavier's beloved girlfriend, Quinn Harper, was intoxicated by her classmates and sold to a man named Ironhead at this nightclub. Later, she was sexually assaulted and tortured to death by him and his lackeys. With revenge burning in his heart, Xavier stared at the neon-lit skyscraper ahead and uttered coldly, "Quinn, my dearest, tonight I will avenge you. All those who have harmed you will pay with their lives tonight!" Xavier then walked into the Nightshade City Club with determination. In the second-floor restroom, a waiter in suits with a red vest rushed in and unfastened his belt at lightning speed to use the toilet. The waiter let out a long sigh of relief while using the toilet, "Phew... f**k, that was close to killing me." The waiter clearly hadn't relieved himself for a long time. After a prolonged minute of urination, he gave a brief shake and started to pull up his pants. Right then, the waiter felt a chilling blade pressed against his neck. Then, a cold voice came from behind, asking, "Which room is Ironhead in?" The server involuntarily shuddered and blurted out, "I don't..." Before the waiter could finish his words, he felt the chilling edge gliding against his neck, instantly creating a bloody wound on it. The waiter was terrified. He stammered in a pleading tone, "Please don't kill me. He's in Room ...Room ... Room 307." Upon finishing his sentence, the waiter felt a sharp pain in the back of his neck. His vision went dark and he lost consciousness entirely. As Xavier slowly licked the bloodstain from the blade, a cold gleam flashed in his eyes. He then dragged the unconscious waiter into the utility room. After stripping off the waiter's clothes and putting them on himself, he picked up the tray originally carried by the waiter and headed towards Room 307. Xavier soon arrived at the door of Room 307. After confirming that the hallway was empty, he took a paper packet from his pocket. He emptied the powder into the beers on the tray, stirred it thoroughly and gently knocked on the door. A loud, harsh voice barked from inside, "Who is it?" Xavier responded calmly, "Room service. I'm here to deliver your beers, sir." The door swung open with a whoosh, revealing a blond scrawny guy. He eyed Xavier and the tray of beers in his hands, saying, "Beers? We didn't order any beers." Xavier glanced into the room and saw the bald man, heavily tattooed and surrounded by club hostesses. He recognized him as Ironhead, one of his revenge targets. Wearing a flattering smile on his face, Xavier told him, "Our boss, Mr. Harris, asked me to deliver five bottles of German Buck's beer to Mr. Terry. They're on the house." The blond scrawny guy's eyes lit up as he picked up a bottle of beer. "Buck's? Boss, seems like Mr. Harris sent these beers for you." Several hefty men and club hostesses in the room looked at the blond scrawny guy and exchanged knowing smiles with him. Xavier seized the opportunity to enter the room. He smiled at Ironhead, saying, "Mr. Terry, these beers are a gift from our boss." Ironhead laughed at his words. "Well, Harris' gift to me? Haha, great. Looks like my slapping last night taught him something. I'll take them, now get lost." A few other men gathered around to take the beers, and one of them even complained rudely, "Just the hell only a few bottles? Mr. Harris is so damn stingy." The blond scrawny guy even gave Xavier a hard kick. "Get lost, what are you hanging around for?" Xavier wasn't upset by his actions. He simply nodded and smiled. "Okay, I'll leave now." The moment Xavier stepped out of the room and closed the door, the smile on his face instantly replaced by a deadly expression like the Grim Reaper. Xavier stood at the doorway, watching the seconds tick by on his watch. After a minute, he took a deep breath and retrieved a knife from his pocket. He then pushed open the door and entered Room 307, the knife firmly gripped in his hand. Just as he expected, everyone in the room had already passed out. Xavier approached Ironhead with a cruel glint in his eyes, murmuring, "The killing spree begins!" The blade in his hand flashed with reflection as he plunged it into Ironhead's left chest, followed by a vicious downward pull. "Swoosh!" Xavier's knife slashed through Ironhead's chest, instantly creating a laceration that spanned through his entire chest. He ripped open Ironhead's chest cavity, revealing the jagged bones and internal organs inside, and forcefully pulled out a blood-drenched heart. With a lethal determination gleaming in his eyes, Xavier tightly grasped the warm heart and wrote a bloody word on the pristine white wall—Revenge. The blood-soaked words on the wall instantly filled the luxurious room with a chilling atmosphere like hell. Xavier stared blankly at the blood-written words on the wall for some time before he suddenly let out a low, sneering laugh. He swiftly spun around and grabbed the knife from the ground again. "Swish… swish… swish…" Xavier ruthlessly sliced off each head from the bodies. Then, he meticulously arranged the twelve heads in the room to spell the word 'Revenge'. The room became a real hell! Xavier's gaze stayed cold and emotionless throughout the entire process. He got a plastic bag from his pocket, hacked off the fingers of those twelve people with his knife, and then put these fingers in the plastic bag and swiftly left the nightclub. *** At a villa in the Crown Heights District of Newbrook State, the doorbell rang with a crisp "ding-dong". A bustling middle-aged woman opened the door and stared curiously at the young man at the doorstep. "Hi, can I help you?" Xavier greeted the woman with a polite smile and said, "Hi, you must be Mrs. Wilson. I'm Xavier, Kyle's classmate. He invited me over to hang out." Looking at Xavier's student ID, Mrs. Wilson warmly ushered him into the house. She motioned towards the study's door and said, "Welcome. Make yourself at home. Kyle's in the study. Feel free to find him." Xavier nodded and reached out to open the door indicated by the woman. He walked into the room and then locked the door behind him. Inside the room, Kyle Wilson was hunched over playing a game on his computer. He muttered irritably, "What do you want? Can't you stop bothering me about dinner? One more game. I'll have my dinner." Xavier's mouth curled into a sinister smile as he approached the computer, softly uttering, "Kyle Wilson, you won't need to have dinner anymore—for the rest of your life." Kyle turned his head and frowned upon seeing Xavier. "What the hell are you doing at my place, you scumbag? Get lost and stop bothering me!" Xavier quipped with a sneer, "Don't rush. I'll send you to hell first before I leave." Kyle was momentarily taken aback by his words, but he quickly understood what Xavier was getting at. "So you know everything, and you want to avenge Quinn? Hahaha, I was there when she was raped. Her look of despair and helplessness was so intense. Just thinking about it still excites me..." Before he could finish his words, Xavier had erupted in anger and lashed out at him. With a swift motion, Xavier's knife sliced through the air, its blade gleaming with a brief flash of light. "Swoosh..." A gush of blood spurted from a deep wound on Kyle's neck, splattering across the computer screen. Kyle widened his eyes in disbelief. He tried to speak, but all that came out was a gurgling noise from his throat. With a ruthless smile on his face, Xavier slowly sliced off Kyle's head from his body using a knife. Soon, the room's floor and walls were drenched with Kyle's blood. Xavier pulled out another plastic bag from his pocket and swiftly stuffed all of Kyle's head and fingers inside. Once everything was done, Xavier walked to the second-floor windowsill and leapt from the window, vanishing into the night. *** Inside the student dormitory of San Lorenzo University, Xavier had changed his outfit and entered a student dormitory room. Inside the room, four students were playing poker, completely unaware of Xavier's entrance. Xavier withdrew the blood-drenched knife from his bag and walked towards the four students, his gaze cold and lethal. "Ahhhh!" The bloodcurdling screams emitted by the students echoed through the entire dormitory building, making it tremble. No one had ever imagined that such a cold-blooded killer would strike at this typically safe university! *** In the dead of night, the ringing of the telephone pierced the silence at the police station, startling the officers on duty. Moments later, all government officials of Newbrook State were alerted to the heinous crime case that had occurred the previous night. In just one night, 5 students and 12 gang members were tragically murdered in the city. The murderer's brutal killing methods and the gruesome, bloody crime scenes had left even the most seasoned veteran police officers deeply shocked and disturbed. In response, all police officers suspended their vacations. Besides, the State Governor and Chief of Police personally held an emergency meeting, mobilizing a task force to capture the ruthless serial killer within the shortest possible time. What uplifted all the officers was that, in less than four hours, their investigation had yielded results. All evidence led to one suspect—a student named Xavier Young.
