Consequences

I gave them a while to let everything settle. But thirty minutes have passed, and Liam is still looking at me, with his mouth open and eyes twice as big as usual. How much time does one need to process everything? "I'll head to the cells and interrogate Damiano. We will meet later. I have some more things to discuss. In the meantime, help Liam processes all these... he looks silly." "No. We will come with you. We are the Beta and Gamma of this pack, and our place is next to our Alpha." "Drake is right. You are not alone in this fight anymore. And I really want to look that motherfucker in the eyes and spit on him. How could he do this? To his fellow werewolves too? I'm disgusted! He treated us like s**t, and he treated the females of this pack like a barbarian... but to kill werewolves? And by using demons? That's too much... even for someone like him." "Very well. I need someone to guide me there anyway." We got up from our seats, and while Drake led the way, Liam was right by my side. As we passed the wolves in the living room, I saw most of them tensed at the power. Even if mine was concealed, it was impossible not to notice the immense increase of power and authority Drake and Liam were emitting after bonding with me. We didn't even get inside the dungeons, but we could already hear Damiano growls. He must've sensed us coming. As we approached his cell, he got up and began barking at me, making Liam and Drake get into a defensive position. I assume they still need time to process my power... "I believe it is time for us to have a conversation." "I'm not talking with a pathetic human!" "Well... this human beat you and took over the position of Alpha. I think we all know who's the pathetic one here..." Liam laughs in Damiano's face. "Watch your tone with me, pup! A human cannot become an Alpha, and I am still superior to you. How dare you disrespect me like that?" His growl made every guard here flinch and take a step back. But it didn't affect us one bit, which surprised Damiano. "How is that possible?" I commanded all guards to leave the perimeter. Our discussion must be private, as I don't trust anyone besides my Beta and Gamma. While the guards were leaving the dungeons, true to his word, Liam did look Damiano in the eyes and spit on him. "How could you? Using demons to kill werewolves? You're disgusting!" After Liam spit on him, Damiano growled and tried to release himself but got burned by the silver bars. His eyes took a dark color, meaning his wolf was taking control. Not that I care... he is soon to be brought to judgment by my mother. "You are not their superior anymore. You are nothing more but a rogue... at the moment, while Drake is the Beta, and Liam has become the Gamma. You are the one that needs to show respect. However, I know your twisted mind can't comprehend that term, so let's stop this unnecessary chit-chat and get to the subject. I know what you did. I know about your deal with Hades and the summoning of demons. I want to know why you did it and the exact terms of the deal." "I don't know what you are talking about." He tried to deny it, but I know better... Plus, you need to be mad stupid, and blind to not see the change in his behavior. He is no longer aggressive but more defensive, and his body is tense. "That's a lie, and we both know it." "Luna, if I may." "Go ahead, Drake. You don't need to ask permission before talking with me... none of you does." Before Drake got to continue his sentence, he was interrupted by Damiano with a sarcastic laugh and a disapproving look on his face, looking directly at me. "No need to ask permission? What a joke. There are ranks for a reason, child. You want to be an Alpha but have no idea how to rule. You're going to bring this pack to its downfall before ruling over it." "I don't need nor want to rule this pack. I'm here to lead, and as Beta and Gama, it is their job to help lead this pack. Your ways are rotted. No wonder this pack is of such a low rank. You led them from a monarchy. Drake, please continue your thoughts." He continues, but not before throwing a glare in Damiano's direction. "Luna, I've known Damiano for a--" "How dare you address me by my name? You low life!" "Enough! You will not utter a word unless asked!" Not only Damiano but also Drake and Liam flinched at the authority I used. Damiano wasn't pleased and wanted to continue his rant, but my command wasn't letting him. I turn back to Drake and motion for him to continue. "As I was saying... I've known Damiano for a long time. He isn't easy to talk to, and I'm sure we cannot get any information from him if it means his plans will go downhill. I think we will get a better shot at talking with the former Luna. Contrary to her mate, the former Luna, Anna is kindhearted, and even though she might have taken part in this, I'm sure it wasn't by choice." "I haven't gotten the chance to meet her quite yet. But if you think this is worth trying, then we will do it." "The women in our pack aren't exactly... well treated, so to say. Anna isn't allowed out of her room unless she has different orders from Damiano." What kind of atrocity is this? Mates are made to love and protect, not order around. This pack may be more damaged than I thought. Abuse has always been my weak point. I cannot stand it. I turned to Damiano, my fury reaching abnormal limits. I'm sure my human facade has fallen by now. By the look of pure terror on Damiano's face, my eyes must be glowing the usual bloodred... with touches of bright blue as the flames from Tartar. "Not only your pack but mate too? And you still dare to call yourself an Alpha?" The power I let out at that moment must've reached another level as I saw Damiano trembling in fear. Drake and Liam were on their knees, and I'm sure I heard the entire pack gasping, feeling my anger even though we were at a fair distance from them. But I cannot help it. How can such a werewolf exist? How come my mother didn't know of him? "You don't even deserve to be a werewolf." That's right... he doesn't deserve to be a werewolf. I approached his cell, and with a simple push, the bars flew, hitting the wall near Damiano's head. I struck right at him, grabbing his neck and using celestial power, heritage from my mother, to rip his wolf soul apart and send it to my mother to deal with him as she sees fit. "What... what have you done to me?" "This is the consequence of all your evil." I said and left right away. I couldn't stand being near such a creature for a moment longer. Liam and Drake were behind me, following in silence, probably still shaken by the earlier display of strength. I told them about my power, but I guess it's not the same as feeling or seeing it. When we exited, I saw the guards outside guarding the entrance. They bowed in submission as soon as they saw me, no doubt feeling the power from earlier as well. "Damiano's cell was damaged. Fix it. Also, he is not allowed any visitors. Except for the three of us, no one is allowed to step foot in that cell, or you will be the one to bear the consequences." I inform the guards As we got closer to the packhouse, Liam couldn't take the silence anymore and gathered the courage to ask what both wanted to know, but none dared to ask yet... which I'm thankful for as I wish no harm to the innocents and want Liam and Drake to lead beside me rightfully, not in fear of me. If not for the others, I hope they will not fear me and don't hesitate to stay by my side or confront me if they think I'm wrong. They shouldn't hesitate to speak their minds. They are now part of me. Therefore my power should not inflict fear but courage and confidence. "So... what exactly have you done to Damiano?" "Damiano is now the very being he despised most. He is a human."
