Origins

After finding my Beta, we went back to the office.

On our way there, I remembered Liam said that only the omegas and the black sheep didn't come, which means Drake is the black sheep.

I wonder why he's called that...

"Why did you assign me as a Beta? You don't know anything about me."

Before I could answer him, Liam meddled and answered instead.

"It's kinda a thing she does. Did the same with me."

"And I will happily resolve the mystery for the both of you. After we hold the ceremony and you become Beta and Gamma officially."

"Why not just tell us now?"

"I have my reasons for choosing the two of you, but I can't really trust you until we are bound by blood. Then, even if you would want to talk... outside, so to say, the bond wouldn't allow you."

"An Alpha with secrets doesn't sit well in a pack..."

Drake is clearly unsatisfied with my statement.

I wonder what his reaction will be when he comes to know the kind of secrets his former Alpha hold.

Since I don't give him a response, he continues to talk, probably hoping I do the same.

"What kind of secret can you have that you can't even trust your Beta and Gamma with it? And why would you choose us if you don't trust us? Why the need to bond before confiding in us?"

He has a point.

It is not that I don't trust them. My instincts say they're good-hearted, rightful, and trustful people. That is one of the reasons I chose them.

But with a secret like mine, you can never be too careful.

After my lack of response, Liam decides to intervene, but you can see it on his face... he doesn't agree with my silence either.

I just look at him silently.

I draw a cut on Drake's and Liam's right wrists, Drake cuts my right and Liam's left, and Liam makes the cut on my and Drake's left wrists as we all make the vows.

"I, Luna Moon-Star, Alpha of the Black Moon pack, accept you, Drake Hale, as my Beta and you, Liam Strandford, as my Gamma."

"I, Drake Hale, accept to be the Beta of the Black Moon pack and acknowledge you, Luna Moon-Star, as my Alpha and you, Liam Strandford, as the Gamma of this pack."

"I, Liam Strandfort, accept to be the Gama of the Black Moon pack and acknowledge you, Luna Moon-Star, as my Alpha and you, Drake Hale, as the Beta of this pack."

After we made the vows, I could feel the power Drake and Liam took from me.

My blood gives them tremendous strength because of the goddess and the devil's blood, as they are now part of me.

Bonding with me is like bonding with your mate... only about thirty times stronger.

Not only can I feel them, but we are one now.

If one of them dies, a part of me dies, and if both of them die, then I will die too. Not just internally, I will actually die.

I know I took a high risk doing this, but I don't have the time to dwell on it. Lives are at stake.

After completing the bond, on our wrists, instead of the cuts, now lays our mark.

A dark moon represents me, with two stars that seem to hold it in place, representing Drake and Liam.

"What the hell was that?"

"All this power, how is this possible?"

"I suppose I can tell you everything now. I suggest you take a seat."

We sat on the sofas, and I took a moment to think about how I should explain who I was without frightening them.

"Firstly, I am an Alpha, but only by title. I do not have time to take on the responsibilities the position requires. The two of you will have to do it. I may have chosen my Beta and Gamma, but in reality, I decided on the future Alpha and Beta for this pack."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Liam asks

They look at me like I'm crazy, and I don't blame them.

"Isn't it just a name? Or does it have to do with the Moon Goddess as well?"

It seems that someone paid attention in class. Well done, Drake.
