I walked into the doctor’s office in a hurry. I had come all the way looking over my shoulder, thinking I was being followed by him. I was terrified. I didn’t know why, but I was. Brad never showed any interest in me after our breakup, but why was he there? Why did he make this trip from New York?
I shook my head and looked up.
"You did it!" Lucas exclaimed, getting out of his chair.
I sighed and looked at him, trying to calm the beat of my heart that seemed to burst from my chest.
Jess was sitting in the chair and looking at a poster in front of her, Andrew next to her with an arm around her shoulder. Jess had a weak hand on her belly that had a hint of roundness. I frowned, it shouldn’t be so round already.
