Jessica POV
I am so f*****g annoyed that he is my neighbor. Out of all f*****g people, he has to be my motherfucking neighbor. I am not 100 percent know why he gets me so wilded up. This is our only second encounter, and I feel like he is always attacking me. I don't know what I did to him besides accidentally spilling coffee on him. I tried apologizing multiple times, but he seemed to get angrier every time I did. That was starting to piss me off as well. I am utterly pissed off that I call Cassidy. She was the only one who knew how to clam me the f**k down. You can tell that I am beyond heated now.
After a few rings, Cassidy picks up the phone, "Hey girl," just hearing her voice was starting to calm my nerves. I don't know why she always had that effect on me, but she does. I answer back to her, "hey." there was some silence between us. Then she speaks up first, "are you okay? Shouldn't you be in class?"
"I already finished all my classes already," I said, "I am just distraught."
"Upset about what?"
"Ugh, where do I even begin?"
"From the beginning." I chuckled at her response. She hated hearing when people are sad, and she still found a way to cheer you up. That's one of those reasons why I love her.
"Haha, someone gots jokes now." I walk over to the couch and laid on it. I was starting to clam down significantly.
"No, for real, tell me what's going on with you. I can tell by your voice that you are upset about something." Twenty minutes later, I proceed to tell her everything and how this was our only second meeting, and he treated me like s**t. Once I gave her the well detailed on what happened, she burst out of laughter. "I can't believe that you let him get under your skin like that."
"I'm trying not to, but you should have seen him before I called you."
"How was that?"
"He looked so f*****g angry. He looked like he wanted to rip my head off of my body." once again, she started to laugh uncontrollably. I was beginning to get irritated by it. "If you are going to help me, then I am going to hang up on you," I said, getting ready to hang up on her.
"Wait, I know how to fix this problem. Kill him with kindness. Make him feel like s**t for treating you like s**t. Maybe you can have a friendship brewing in the making."
"I don't know about friendship, but I think I have an idea."
"Are you going to tell me?"
"You see." Once I said that, Miranda comes in. I turned my head and smiled at her. "I call you later and tell you. Miranda is here, and I will need her help."
"Okay, I can't wait to hear all about it."
"Bye," we said at the same time. I got up to go meet up with Miranda, who is in the kitchen, her back against the refrigerator and drinking a glass of water. Once I walked passed her, she finally spoke up; what was that about," she asked me.
"Oh, I was telling Cassidy about that guy who spilled all over him."
"Okay, and...?"
"Well, I just found out that we are neighbors, and he was a total d**k to me."
"Ahh, I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it. I know how I am going to change it around. I am going to be overly nice to him."
"Do you think this plan is going to work?"
"Of course it is going to f*****g work." she gave me a confused and questioning look. Then she shook her head in disbelief. I started to pull out the baking stuff. I was going to make him sugar cookies and deliver it to him. Once I do it, I will be so lovely that he will have to fall for me, then I will crush every fiber in his being.
"So, you are going to start making cookies?"
"Yup." I started to make the cookies, but instead of adding a whole lot of sugar for the cookies, I add a s**t ton of salt. Miranda started to snicker. She knew what was going to happen. I did this once. In my 9th grade English class, my English teacher was an asshole towards me, and I decided to bake her cookies. But when I made the cookies, I put a s**t ton of f*****g salt in them. Let me tell you; she never f****d me over for the rest of the f*****g year again. Once the cookies were all made, now it was the waiting game. It was about 2 hours later. I heard someone next door who was there. I walked on over and knocked on the door. A few minutes later, he opens the door. I could tell that his grin had disappeared. He goes to talk, "What the f**k do you want?" in the most monotone voice that he can say possible. That s**t urked my motherfucking nerves. I didn't want him to see that he was getting to me. So I put the best mother f*****g smile I can do and held up the plate of cookies. I was trying to calm my nerves. For some reason, he was getting to me. Something about him has drawn me to him, but I had to stop this. I can't do this. "What are these?" he asks, while giving me a perplexed look.
"There are sugar cookies. My grandmother's recipe." well, not the extra salt. I know you guys say this is petty, but some things said to me still pissed me off.
"Why did you bake me cookies?"
"Because I think we got off on the wrong foot, and I feel like we need a change. I am doing this by squashing our beef."
"Umm."
"Come on; I know you are eyeing them. Take the cookies and once you eat the plate, then come over. Then you can tell me our beef is still there." Colton looks at me and takes the plate. Instead of saying anything, he slams the door in my face. "Asshole," I said out loud. I didn't care. I quickly ran next to our apartment. I pressed my ear against the wall. What I realized about our borders is that they are thin, and you can almost hear anything. A few minutes have passed, and I was getting impatient. 'Eat it already,' I thought to myself. But what I heard made me laugh so f*****g hard I know that he could have heard me. To recap on what he said and what I could make out. "Oh, this b***h wants war." He was pacing around the room from what I could make out. Then it sounds like he got on the phone with someone. It sounds like he was shouting, and he repeated the words. "She wants war." All I can think of is bring it.
