Chapter 3

1101 Words
Colton POV  I heard someone knocking on the door. I tried hard to ignore it, hoping whoever was at the door would leave me be. I didn't want to be bothered, especially after the day that I had so far. After a few seconds, I heard the door again. A few minutes later, I went to go opens the door. My grin had disappeared. I went to go to talk, "What the f**k do you want?" in the most monotone voice that I can say possible. I know that s**t urked her motherfucking nerves. I know I was getting to her, but she was doing well. She went on to put the best mother f*****g smile she can do and held up the plate of cookies. She was f*****g nervous. I was curious about why she was scared. For some reason, my mind was starting to drift off; I was so curious about her, I needed more. I snapped out of it. I can't let my mind od this. For all I know that I was getting to her. Something about her eyes was drawn to me, but I had to stop this. I can't do this. "What are these?" I ask while giving her a perplexed look.  "There are sugar cookies. My grandmother's recipe," she said with a smile.  "Why did you bake me cookies?" I said, even more confused. Why would she be baking me cookies? We were fighting a few minutes ago.  "Because I think we got off on the wrong foot, and I feel like we need a change. I am doing this by squashing our beef." "Umm," I said. I was even more confused. I know that something is up, and I can't shake the feeling. "Come on, and I know you are eyeing them. Take the cookies and once you eat the plate, then come over. Then you can tell me our beef is still there." I look at her and take the plate. Instead of saying anything, I slam the door in her face. "Asshole," she says out loud. I didn't care. I place the plate of cookies on the countertop in the kitchen. I walked away from them, but man, those cookies were calling my name. So I walked back into the kitchen to take a cookie. I took the first bite of them but spat them out immediately. That motherfucking b***h. Instead of being sweet, like a f*****g cookie should be, it is the bitterness to them and doesn't get me started how f*****g salty the cookies they were. "Oh, this b***h wants war," I said. I began to pace around the room; then I got on the phone with someone. I started to talk to one of my other friends, James, on the phone because I know Knox was in class. I said this out loud so she can hear, "She wants war." I don't know why but all I can think of is bring it.  I finally got off the phone call with James, and I am beyond pissed now. How the f**k did she trick me into eating her shitty ass cookie. That f*****g b***h, she thinks that she can outdo me, she has another thing coming. I started to pace back and forth to figure out how the f**k will I get her back, but I am not going to lie, I am not the great one to pull off pranks; it's usually Knox who is the prankster. So I stopped pacing, and I pulled out my phone and texted Knox, "When are you getting home?" I waited for a reply. It was instant, of course: I am on my way. Why do you ask? Me: I need your help. Knox: With what? ME: On getting back on our neighbor.  Knox: Why? ME: Get here. I explain everything.  Knox: Fine. Asshole ME: d**k. I started to laugh, and I put my phone away, and I went and turned my attention towards the tv. I can't wait until we can come up with something that can be great.  About 20 minutes later, Knox walks into our apartment with one of our friends that we made on our first night here. He looks at me with one eyebrow cricked and proceeded to ask what the f**k happened, and I f*****g told him everything. Once I was done, he burst into a laughing fit. "Hahaha. Laugh it up, can we come up with a prank know." he even laughs harder. I was starting to get annoyed by it. I got up and walked away. I felt like an i***t for falling for that seat, and I couldn't stand that she got me right. So I needed to come up with some s**t that would get her good. Once done, Knox walked in the room, wiping the laughing tears off his eyes.  "Okay, if we are going to get her back, we can't do it today. We have to do it unexpectedly." Knox said towards me while walking to the refrigerator.  Why can't we do it today?" "Are you a f*****g i***t," he says with some concerns. I was confused about why he was looking at me like that. Then it dawned on me. "Oh yeah," I said in a reply.  "No f*****g kidding me." "Okay we can count for two weeks out about," I said in a hushed tone. I know that the walls are thin and she has to be listening. "Why are you whispering?" "Because the walls are thin, and I don't want to hear out the prank." "Okay, let me hear it out. I want to know what you came up with." I proceed to tell him what I was going to do. Once I was done, he looked at me and shook his head. "I think you guys are going to far." "I don't think so," I said. "If you say so," we eventually walked back into the living room. I have calmed down significantly.  Two weeks later I completely forgot about the f*****g prank I was going to pull on her until yesterday. Knox reminded me. School is kicking my ass. Who would have known that law school would be this f*****g hard? But I could go back on. Knox and I went off to the store to buy some acrylic paint. Once we got back home, we played the waiting game. The prank was to put acrylic paint onto her windshield, and every time she would go used, it would make a rainbow. It was a genius plan, I might add. Once she came home and walked into her apartment, we ran out to her car and started the prank. I couldn't stop laughing. This is what you get fro being an ass.
