9. "You are too effective to affect me!"
"Rosh, answer for the fifth one mark," Nidhi whispered from the front consciously without caught in the hands of their professor who is checking his phone.
"Its option 2 and answer for the seventh one mark," she asked and Nidhi showed four fingers indicating the answer is the fourth option.
It was their last exam of second internals, there is only twenty days left for their semester exam to start.
"Time is up, submit your papers," their professor commanded and Roshini started writing in a jet fast. She gave the paper after everyone left, her professor glared at her for making him wait but Roshini didn't care about him and walked out with a smile.
Nidhi was all ready to leave and was little excited to meet Varun who is coming here to pick her for their movie date. She is too excited and at the same time very nervous. But this is their first time going for a movie.
"Hey Roshan, he is on the way to here. Come with me I will introduce Varun to you," Nidhi's sudden idea stopped Roshini.
"What? No no, it is ok. You go and enjoy with your lawyer, I have to return the books in the library," she backed off.
Suddenly Nidhi's phone buzzed, she took out and saw the message from Varun.
I will be late around half an hour I think. So wait for me, I will be there soon.
Reading the message Nidhi showed clearly her disappointment on her face that Roshini can easily understand.
"He will be late, go and return your books and I will wait for you," she muttered.
"No it ok I will return that later, but for now you have to tell the rest of your love story," Roshini grinned.
After comfortably sitting in their places, Nidhi started to blush. She didn't expect that Roshini will be this curious to know about her love.
"Roshini stop looking at me like that," she whined and Roshini shrugged her shoulders like what I did.
"Where I stopped the story?"
"That rainy day meeting, till that only you told," she recalled.
"Umm... After that Rainy day, I didn't see him and to say a truth I recalled that incident again and again. Unknowingly I myself developed a strong curiosity to know more about him. But since I know it is not a moral thing so I cut those thoughts away and prepared myself for the college.
My parents were little disappointed in me that time for taking engineering, they wanted me to do MBBS. But I know if I did then they have to pay a lot for my studies. I considered it will be a pressure for them and I am not interested to be a doctor. All these things really hurt and confused me whether I did a mistake."
"Then after joining here I forget those thoughts and concentrated to do what I am having in my hands than the one that I missed.
One day my mom asked me to give the Payasam that I prepared for my dad's birthday to Varun's family. I first hesitated then hoping that he won't be in the home I went there. You would have seen his house that big one opposite to mine,"
"Yeah that house, I know," Roshini confirmed.
"I went there casually and pressed the calling bell. The door opened to reveal him. He looked me like he doesn't know me, that interrogating look he had that time really embarrassed me. I awkwardly stood there with the cup like an idiot."
Roshini chuckled hearing that, "Hey it is so funny to imagine you like that," she teased.
"Yeah but Varun understanding me, called his mom and went in leaving me in front of their house. I felt even irritated by his gesture of treating me, I thought he doesn't have any manners but later he proved that he is different from anyone that I have seen. His mom came and welcomed me in. She asked about who prepared the Payasam after tasting that. She is little surprised to know my answer.
Varun out of nowhere came onto the scene, his mom gave the Payasam to him and he tasted that looking me."
"His name is Varun and he is pursuing law." His mom cleared the greatest doubt that I had. Then Varun left telling he is going out to meet his friend.
"After that day, he started chasing me. Whenever I came out of my house he was there in front of his house with his friends. I thought it is just coincidence then it started to become a routine that I never can avoid. His friends started teasing by addressing me by using his name. At a certain point, I couldn't tolerate to know that he is too enjoyed his friend's action."
"One day I scolded him that was the first time I am conversing to him and that too in a fighting way, at the extreme point of our argument he confessed that he is in love with me. I was stunned to hear that, I don't know whether to be happy or to be sad. To accept him or to reject him. I am confused and left him without telling him anything.
Days passed, I heard a lot about him. Apart from my initial attraction, his dominant gesture and his Aura really fascinated me. I have heard he is bold and very honest, short-tempered. Most importantly a fighter who can't tolerate people who mess with him.
Perhaps the concept of bad boys attract girls more has happened to me. I eventually started to regret for rejecting him. Varun is not a typical guy we think, he totally changed like a big villain, and whenever we are happened to meet he glared at me like I did something very bad to him and his expression is so cold. He is different, and that dragged me after him.
It was our first semester end time, Varun came here to our college to meet me, he told that he can't forget me and want me to love him. He added that I was his first love. Unable to refuse and my racing heart eventually gave in. I accepted him and his love."
Nidhi completed by smiling brightly but that smile carried an unknown sadness too that she doesn't want to share with anyone.
"Whoa Nidhar, I think your boyfriend is really cool, he is a perfect match for you." she smiled and hugged Nidhi feeling her love. Nidhi was surprised and pushed her.
Suddenly they both were interrupted by Nidhi's phone. It was Varun, she immediately took and attend that in an excitement. After talking with him, Nidhi carried her bag.
"He is here only, don't be shy and come along with me," Nidhi convinced her. Without any other option, Roshini carrying her bag and books followed her. Calmly she went with her thinking about how to talk with Varun and again Nidhi started walking like running. Once they reached the place were Varun was standing near his bike Roshini's awkward feelings popped out.
The things she heard about Varun a strict, dominant and short-tempered person somewhat terrified her, how he will talk with her was the small awkward doubt that Roshini had.
Roshini looked him this time properly, he was handsome, dark, tall, and much taller than Nidhi with a lean yet good physique. His face carrying a pleasant smile and moreover, they will be a cute pair together. His profession really suits his looks, Roshini thought and smiled as a greeting.
"How was your exam?" he asked taking Nidhi taking her bag from her shoulders, his voice sounded so manly and now Roshini understood why Nidhi was in love with him. He is really luring.
"Its fine, I will get a pass mark," she replied.
Varun turned his gaze to Roshini and looked her like 'who the hell are you?'
Clearing the awkwardness Nidhi introduced Roshini to Varun.
"Oh you are that Roshini, Nidhi told about you," his warm gesture surprised her.
"Nice to meet you Anna (Brother)," she felt relieved but after that, she doesn't know what to speak.
"Hmm me to sister," he told and beamed. Then an awkward silence and Roshini retrieved from there saying her goodbyes.
It was so heavy to carry all the rock like books in her hands and shoulders but who is going to come as a savior.
Even in that obstinate moment, Roshini giggled thinking about her and Siddharth in the place of Varun and Nidhi. What a stupid! She patted her forehead.
When she was walking slowly, she felt someone walking behind her. It was a long road, either side with tall trees, and main importantly very calm so that she can clearly hear the footsteps.
She turned to see who it is? She gritted her teeth and cried out of embarrassment, it was Siddharth behind.
Why on earth he is behind me! She felt and stopped in the midway. Since they looked at each other.
Siddharth smiled and came near her.
"I thought of calling you, but you are deep in your thoughts so I didn't disturb you," he reasoned.
"Oh..." she is dumbfounded. Siddharth was having two books in his hands Roshini was confused why he walking instead of riding in his bike.
"You took all these five books?" he inquired looking at her.
"Yeah... total eight books, three were in my bag," she replied.
"It must be heavy right? Give the books I will bring for you."
OMG is it real or am I in a dreamland! Roshini doubted for a moment.
"No. I can carry..." before she can protest he took the books from her hands.
"Why you are walking?"
"Ah... Gautham took my bike for half an hour, he is meeting someone outside."
"Oh..."
"Where is your friend Nidhi?"
"She went out with her boyfriend," she told immediately. Siddharth chuckled understanding her.
"Do you have a boyfriend Roshini?" She chocked hearing that.
"What? Me! No no NO!"
"That's good," he told and that confused Roshini. But she thought of asking a question that was bothering her for a long time.
"Do you have a girlfriend?" she asked him suddenly.
"Do you want an honest answer?" he smiled and stopped walking.
"Yeah..." she nodded her head.
"I don't have a girlfriend, but I am considering to have one soon," his confession broken her heart. So that means he already decided that girl she thought and wanted to ask who is that girl but remained silent.
When they reached library Siddharth allowed Roshini to return the books first. She waited for him until he returns.
When they came out, a light rain halted them. Roshini took her umbrella out and looked Siddharth to say that she is going to leaving.
