Chapter- 8

You are something, that I need to do something!!

“The third-semester dates have been announced I think, please check our college website to confirm that and the second internals on Monday so be prepared for that,” their professor informed and walked out of the class.

Once she left Roshini looked out to find the pouring rain. A small smile spread across her lips. She placed her head on the desk and closed her eyes to feel the drizzle. No one can explain how much she’s feeling this moment.

It is been three weeks since she had that small fight with Nidhi, they were talking normally like they are hiding nothing.

“Roshan, I am hungry lets head to the canteen,” Nidhi patted her shoulders but Roshini is not in the mood to wake up.

“Hey, get up,” Nidhi rocked her.

“Ah... Why you are acting so cold, can’t you have little mercy on me,” she voiced in a sleep.

Irritated Nidhi pinched her hip, Ouch Roshini got up glaring her. “What? Don’t you feel hungry?”

“Yah, yeah,” Roshini sounded very irritated, taking the umbrella and her purse Nidhi marched out of her class and Roshini followed her. While walking she checked her phone to find two messages from the BSNL customer service. Deleting them she sighed and looked straight, but instantly she turned her gaze down when she noticed Siddharth standing there in the corridor and talking with his friends.

She crossed them awkwardly, his laughing sound lifted her heart rate crazily. She strolled down the stairs fast to catch Nidhi, walking like she is running.

“Come fast,” Nidhi shouted standing before the building.

Roshini adjusted her dupatta to cover her head so that she won’t get wet and ran to Nidhi.

“Stop being lazy Roshan,” Nidhi advised.

“Haha, don’t advise me like you are so enthusiastic all the time, yesterday you are way too lazy than me stupid,” she chuckled.

“Ayo, I can’t talk with you,” Nidhi laughed and they started to walk in the rain holding the umbrella happily.

But Roshini doesn’t know there is a pair of eyes that are watching her secretly yet constantly that she never can find.

It is a secret and it will remain a secret until the secret turn into a real feeling of love... Perhaps this is her misfortune since no one can promise that secret glimpse will turn into a love that she is wishing.

“Hey Siddharth what are you looking at?” his friend questioned him when he was watching them.

“Nothing,” he nodded.

“Hey, let’s head to canteen to have lunch, I am giving you all a treat,” he said to them.

“Wow, I want chicken fried rice,” Ram asked.

“Okay sure,” Siddharth agreed and all five of them in Siddarth’s car went to canteen. Since it will take about ten minutes to reach the canteen if they walk.

When he entered the canteen, his eyes searched the reason of why he is here. She is there, his reason is standing before the counter to get her food.

Roshini felt something in her, she closed her thoughts and bought the plate in her hands and turned to see Siddharth approaching her with a small smile at the end of his lips. Her eyes can’t believe this grin, why it is so new to her. He won’t smile like this before but why all of a sudden? She questioned and smiled back. When Siddharth was about to tell something,

“Roshini come here!” Nidhi shouted after finding a place at the corner. She nodded her head and went there leaving the chances to turn the secret to love.

She sat beside to her and the first thing she did was gulping a glass of water to ease her pounding heart. Nidhi bought biryani and Roshini ordered only two Rotis. She is on diet, two weeks before Roshini went to the hospital, that time she got some tips about reducing some weight from the doctor and for this past two weeks she is following those. Her doctor said her PCOD will be cured only when she loosed some weight.

Losing weight and becoming thin is not her motive but while considering her health she has to be in the diet. Nidhi pushed her plate to Roshini and she nodded her head as no.

“Having some will not going to increase your weight in tons, Okay,” she told and Roshini took some biryani from her plate. It is tempting her but she is having more willpower than anyone, so it is easy for her to avoid her temptations even that is uncontrollable.

She looked around to find Siddharth, sitting adjacent to her table. He is happily eating and chatting with his friends. It is weird, why he is here? He won’t eat in the canteen at all, what happened today.

Is there any pretty girl he wants he see here, she thought and looked around but she can’t find any pretty one other than Nidhi. But she knows he is not interested in her and she assured herself in a relief.

Then something good has happened to him, that’s why he bought all his friends here to eat. What would it be? She started imagining several things.

Ah... even while eating why you can’t leave me alone, she cried in frustration.

Nidhi gazed Roshini while she is glimpsing Siddharth, she smiled by her cute gestures. She felt what Varun is doing now? She checked her phone is there any message from him. But there is none.

She wanted to call him but he strictly told her not to disturb him while he is at work. She placed her phone again on the table and turned her gaze to Siddharth. To her surprise, he was looking at Roshini who’s busily searching something on the phone.

Then he shifted normally. Must it be a coincidence right? She thought.

But the great mystery got revealed the next moment his eyes drawn back to Roshini. With a quick glimpse, he shifted his gaze. Nidhi was astonished to see this. She smiled looking Roshini.

“Hey, why you are smiling like an i***t?” Roshini questioned.

“Nothing,” Nidhi grinned wider.

After finishing off their lunch, they came out of the canteen. The rain was pouring mercilessly. Even if they walk in this with an umbrella they will be drenched. Helplessly looking at the Rain,

“Roshan... whether you have to attend the class, surely?” Nidhi questioned her with a hesitation.

“Yes... but if you want me to bunk the class then it is Ok,” Roshini grinned.

“Then let’s go back and have some coffee in this rain, shall we?” Nidhi suggested.

“Super!”

They went back and sat at the same table after ordering a hot coffee.

“Roshini, you came back?” Siddharth questioned her suddenly. That surprised Roshini but Nidhi understood clearly there is something.

“Yeah, it is raining heavily and we decided to bunk this class.” she smiled.

“Oh, same here,” he grinned.

Their conversation got ended when his other department friend came onto the scene. Roshini sipped the heavenly coffee and looked out. The smile she had had on her face is thousand times different than her normal smile. Perhaps she is a Pluviophile, the one who loves rain and feel excited whenever it rains.

Nidhi again noticed Siddharth glimpsing Roshini. He is, again and again, confirming her doubt is true.

Being attractive is not in the appearance for everyone it is in the way how they are viewing the people. Roshini is attractive in many ways, no one can avoid her sweet and caring tone. Mainly importantly her witty nature. Out of so many friends, Nidhi is so amused and admired her nature than anyone, she is different that is very difficult to understand.

But she felt other than Siddharth others were discussing something by looking her strangely. She felt uncomfortable but remained calm.

“Roshan, I think you are looking cute today,” Nidhi told.

“Me! Cute? I am in half sleep Nidhar,” she told and looked again at the rain, but she felt something clingy. Why is she telling this at this moment? Uh whatever, Roshini tossed off the thoughts and continued what she is doing.

When they were silently sitting, Gautham came to their table and sat opposite to them. Roshini was shocked of what he is going to say. But she definitely know that he will be rejected.

“Nidhi, are you in a relationship?” he asked and that shocked her. His friends were all watching them and Roshini can’t take her eyes off from Nidhi, sitting like a Robot.

She gulped, “Why are you asking?”

“I am interested in you, so that’s why I want to know,”

“Yes, I am in a relationship,” she rejected him terribly. But he didn’t looked sad or ashamed and left them. His friends chuckled seeing his rejection and Siddharth looked somewhere like he does not exist here.

Roshini gave a weak smile, this is the third guy that Nidhi rejected in this college with Roshini’s knowledge. But this time she rejected him very confidently that she is actually in a relationship.

Slowly the rain stopped. Nidhi strolled out and Roshini followed her, whereas Siddharth gang has already left the place a few minutes before.

While walking back to the class, Roshini held Nidhi’s hand. “Don’t avoid my question Nidhar, you are in a relationship right? I know that” she said.

Unable to hide and ashamed of saying lies, Nidhi decided to tell the truth to her best friend.

“Yes you are right, I am in a relationship. Sorry for hiding that” she looked down.

“It is ok, don’t apologize stupid. By the way who is that lucky person?” Roshini grinned and Nidhi blushed in an embarrassment.
