5.RESENTING HER!
Serah could not believe that her mother had just sent the love of her life outside like he was a dog or something. Tears formed at the slit end of her eyes as rage run through her bloodstream.
She couldn’t believe that her own mother could possibly do this to Charlie. Like how dare she? I mean, she could have at least given Charlie a chance instead of being so harsh and inconsiderate towards him.
Anger overwhelmed Serah as she glared at her non-chalant mother. She could care less about a lot of stuff but Charlie was one person she cared so much about. If her mother thought calling out on Charlie like that would make her love him any less then she was totally wrong. F
As a matter of fact, this is the first time in her life that she didn’t care if her parents disowned her. What mattered was what she felt and she was not going to just let go of Charlie just like that. If all this wealth was the price she’d have to pay to be with the man she loves, then she was ready for it.
She took two bold steps forward after wiping a single tear that had just dropped from her left eye. She hoped that the confrontation would take a little time and after that she was going to follow Charlie out.
Looking at her mother's bitchy face, she decided that it was not worth wasting her time with her. It was best if she goes to fix her situation with Charlie Instead.
Her mother did not allow her to leave though. She grabbed her wrist tightly, pulling her to a stop.
“Where do you think you are going young lady?” Her mother questioned through gritted teeth. She had never thought that this would ever happen. Her daughter will fall in love with a nobody and that too, have the audacity to bring him into her house. She’d be doomed before she let her daughter be n a relationship with that low life.
What she had seen had pissed her off enough. She was never going to allow her daughter to ruin her life by following that stupid man with nothing in his bank account.
Serah looked at her mother with an ocean of tears in her eyes. Her heart was throbbing in her chest. She hated her mother so much for doing this to her.
She should be a loving mother. She should agree to the fact that Charlie is the man who makes her so happy.
Her mother was always hard on her and that explains why she never wanted to bring here in this house in the first place. Without Charlie she would be sad for the rest of her life.
She would be miserable. I guess that is what her mother wants now that she is ruining her happiness.
“I want to go after the man I love Mum. I’m not going to stay a second longer,” Serah said after she swallowed down her throat a bitter taste of Bile.
Her mother chuckled lightly and Serah expected her to let go of her wrist so that she could go there and suffer as she normally says.
"When you marry a poor nobody, you will never have fancy dresses to wear to events. You will never wear any designer clothes. You will starve and die. Just think about it, will love buy you something from the supermarket? I thought so,"
That was her mother's quote.
Her mother was a selfish b***h who only cares about wealth and reputation. She wants them to be married to tycoons so that she can be able to buy all those fancy dresses that she hailed as if they were her second God. All she cared about, was flaunting and bragging to her friends.
She was just a heartless b***h. It was probably an inappropriate thing to call your own mother but at this point Serah could care less. What irked her the most was that her mother was from a poor family when she met their dad but right now, she had forgotten all that. She even pretended not to know her poor parents.
Serah hated her so much for that.
“I will pretend you said nothing and we’ll go back to what is actually important. Right now I want you to wipe the tears from your eyes and go to the dining room to apologize to our family and the Diaz family. Oh, don’t forget to make it believable Serah, or else you and I are going to have a hard time, ” Her mother whispered sternly after pulling her to the corner.
“I don’t want to be a part of this family and I hate you so much,” Serah snapped, frustration getting the better of me.
“Shut up little b***h because at the end of the day, you are going to do as I say, or else…” Mary had to stop for Polly joined them in their little corner.
“Mum, Serah, you have to come to the dining room. Everyone is waiting for the two of you,” Polly said in a low tone. She hated the fact that she had to interfere in this fight.
“Polly sister, please tell mum that I want to leave,” Serah looked at her sister and begged her to convince her mother that she should allow her to be with the love of her life.
“Serah, I don’t want to be in between this. The only thing I can say is that, just listen to mum and when you finally leave this house, you can do what the f**k you want. I know that she is doing all this because she loves us,” Polly tried to speak sense to her sister.
“She has controlled you too, hasn’t she?” Serah forced a small laugh as she tried to understand how a mother who just turned down the love of her life wants the best for her. That is so far-fetched, right?
“You have to join us in the dining room right now because it is starting to get really weird,” Polly said bluntly before she left Serah and her mum to conclude their fight.
“I will make your life a living hell if you leave this house and I won’t care if you are my daughter. “Mary threatened her daughter.
“Empty threats,” Serah kept pissing her mum off.
“I will ruin Charlie, I promise you that. If you don’t go to the dining room with me and apologize for what you have done, then I am going to make his life a living hell. I swear to you, I will do that!” Her mother made the threat and Serah knew that she didn’t have any other choice other than to follow what her mother had told her.
Serah loved Charlie too much and she never wanted him to suffer because of her. She is going to do what her mother says out of her love for him. She will never want to hurt him in any way.
“Fine. As long as you leave Charlie alone,” Serah said after a few seconds of hesitation.
“You know me too well to know that I don’t break my promises,” Her mother forced a smile and the mother and daughter walked to the dining room in tow.
Everyone was waiting for an explanation and they were ready to do that.
“Serah here has something to say regarding the misunderstanding,” Her mother started the talk for her and all eyes were on Serah. From the corner of her eyes, she caught a glance of Logan leaning his back on his seat as he watched her. Judging from the smirk on his face, he was clearly enjoying this drama a little bit too much. Could she possibly hate that man more?
“Um…I’m not sure where to begin but truth is, I was just being a little rebellious. Mum has not been spending much time with me lately and I felt like maybe dragging that good for nothing here would make her notice me. I’m sorry mum that I tried to ruin your dinner,” her acting skills were beyond amazing and everyone pretty much bought her lie.
“Don’t be. I should be the one asking you for forgiveness. I have been too caught up with the company that I did not realize I was neglecting you. From now on, be sure that I will give you all my attention,” That latter part of the statement was no lie. She was going to keep a very close eye on Serah, especially now. She would not want that low life to come in between her plans and ruin them.
“What about me mother? I’d like that attention too,” Polly who was sitting next to Logan argued.
“Come on girls, I will give both of you all my attention,” Mary promised and the Diaz family watched them as the mother hugged her two beautiful daughters Serah and Polly.
“We are starving, let us have dinner already,” Naomi suggested and everyone totally agreed with that. Besides, everyone on the table was tortured enough by the tantalizing scent of the roasted turkey on the table.
