Then she took a shower, and dressed in black sweatpants and a white t-shirt, she went into the living room. Immediately, her gaze fell on Mark. He was busy in the kitchen chopping peppers. Feeling her presence, he glanced at her and smiled. “Feeling better now?” he inquired. Ella nodded and walked to the kitchen island. She was barefoot, and the thick carpet covering the floors muffled the sound of her steps. She sat on the barstool and asked, “Do you need any help?” “No, don’t worry.
