Chapter 14 – Accusations Dale looked out the observation window at Railgun #1. It had just been finished and inspected, and it was time for test firing. A klaxon sounded, and a red light flashed. “Charging,” announced a voice over an intercom. A few seconds passed before it spoke again. “Charging complete. Initiating targeting.” The gun began to move on its mount. It swiveled quickly to the right. The railgun's barrel rose a few degrees. The gun continued to move slowly as it tracked. The target was what was left of one of the sabotaged capacitors. The explosion had turned it into charred, twisted scrap. It had been tossed out an airlock, and it now floated lazily in space. “Firing.” The gun fired. The target exploded into countless pieces of white-hot shrapnel. The light faded away
