Alone with him

Chapter 4 Madison finally arrived her new abode with Steve who was still in the brown Tesla her adoptive father had assigned his driver to drop them off with; doing God-knows-what. That had perplexed Madison, though. And by 'that', she meant the generosity of her adoptive parents which was so rare, that she questioned herself if she was indeed in a trance. Or was there anything that she wasn't aware of? Shaking off those thoughts, Madison stared at the small old house which was situated near the woods. And wondered if this was where she would spend her days in? Well, it didn't matter for now. So far, staying here and living with this useless man would have Ms Hannah's medical expenses, settled. Steve had finally gone out of the Tesla, smiling at her in a way that she got tempted to look more than she should, at him. He led her into the small old house that lacked decor. Yet, it looked tidy and smelt really good. Maybe here wasn't bad , anyways. It looked habitable and homely. Steve had showed her around. The house had a sitting room, kitchen, store and one bedroom, which was the last place Steve led her to. She could confess, the room was a bit large and the arrangement wasn't totally bad. In fact, it just needed one or two touches of a woman, to get it in perfect order. "Would you like to shower first?" Madison diverted her attention from the small wardrobe she was staring at, to a shameless Steve, who stood in all his nudity in the center of the room with a face serious as ever. Madison stilled. No, she froze. For her whole being was yet to process what her innocent eyes had just beheld. Then her heart began pounding a new, when she quickly whipped her head to the other side. Her cheeks burning up, leaving her so flustered. Madison felt quite uneasy. She didn't know what had come over Steve neither had she the guts to act is if nothing had just happened. Taking in a few breathes, she assured herself that she would be just fine. For all she needed to do was put on a facade of being calm. Meanwhile, the images of Steve's nudity kept playing in her mind like a slide show. This however, made it harder for her. "You don't need to act all collected, Madison. I know you don't want to get married to me." Steve had been watching her for some time and decided to say what he had always wanted to. She scoffed. "I don't think you have the right to draw such conclusion, Mr Armani. I'm just walking on egg shells because marriage is no play." She told him. "But I'm sure I'd adjust in a matter of time." She finished, hoping her face or any expression of hers wouldn't let her out. Truth be told, Madison was not really happy that she married a man she didn't know. An idler who she didn't know if he had human compassion or not. She always wanted to fall in love with the man she would spend the rest of her life with. And she had that percentage of hope in Amos- that scum of the earth that cheated on her with her step sister, of all persons in the world! But now, she had gotten married to this Steve Armani, of a man. Meanwhile Steve had a wry smile playing on his lips as grabbed a towel and tied it around his waist. He knew not what amused him darkly but he was certain that this lady was quite fun to read. He knew that she was just making excuses. It was evident with the way her eyes darted here and there, before it got fixed on him. He needed to clear things out with her. Before he gets misinterpreted. "This marriage is actually of no use to me. I hate to say, but it's not something I have need of. But then, we could just play along with what others want to see." Steve had surprised her with his words. But he wasn't done. "You know, act like normal couples. But back home, we wouldn't interfere with each other's business. You do you. I do me." Madison listened quietly as he spoke on and on about how they would stay clear on each others private life. And that, she was perfectly fine with. She just needed Ms Hannah, to live. Anything else, could follow suite. If she could get married because of the deal she made with her adoptive parents, was it then this rules that she wouldn't adhere to? She loved it, even. She was ecstatic that he wouldn't even butt into her business. Or having to be accountable of where she went or who she went to see. That way, she could visit Ms Hannah, as she wished. "Asides minding our personal business, I actually wouldn't mind taking care of your physical desires. You know...skinship." Madison whipped her head to the right when she heard what Steve had just spat out. But with the tone he had said that with and the mocking look on his face, it was obvious that this man was scorning her. "No skinship, please. Thank you." She made him know, her nose scrunching up in disgust. Ignoring her provoking response to his tease, Steve remembered what he had heard about the libidinous attitude of the Roberts first daughter. And he had to let her know that though they would not interfere with their personal business, he wouldn't tolerate a cheating wife. "And you better not be an incorrigible flirt. I don't want that disrespect associated with me." He voiced out, wanting to know her reaction. "Steve, all the duties of a woman to her man, I would try as much as possible to do." Madison had cringed when she said "her man." "And you should only worry about yourself because I have no such time to flirt around with random men. But you must not dare to meddle with my private life." She did let him know. Besides, he was the one that first talked of each minding their own business, so why would he even care if another man pleased her?Though she had no time of pleasing or being pleased by other men. "Better," Steve mumbled. So far, all he had heard of this woman was nothing like what he was seeing. She was shy unlike how wild he was told the Roberts first daughter was. And she seemed not to be involved in debauchery. Or was he missing something? Was she just putting on a facade because they just got married? Was she trying to lay low before she would continue her supposed lewd acts with random men? Madison didn't seem like that type of woman to him. She had even looked away when he had taken off his clothes. And she seemed flustered, as well. "I would like to inquire something from you." Steve said curtly. "What?" Madison nearly snapped. She was tired of all the conversations. She just wanted to take a shower and rest. But then, the word shower flashed the image she had been fighting back ever since. "Are you truly the Roberts first daughter?" He deapanned. Madison's eyes widened instantly in utter shock and horror.
