Alana sat there deep inside her own head for a few moments before she responded to him. "I don't want to reject you. I just need to take it one minute at a time. I have to figure out who I am now. I am no longer Princess Alana. My hair is no longer mine. My entire life has been erased. I'm not sure who I am supposed to be anymore." she felt him squeeze her hand. Closing her eyes she took in the comfort she got from it. She felt him kiss the back of her hand gently before releasing it and standing up.
She couldn't help but feel a pang of loss from losing his comfort in that moment. "We should get some sleep. I took the next few days off just to spend some time with you and show you around. I hope that's OK with you?"
Alana stood up helping to clear the table. She was trying to keep herself calm in spite of the war raging inside of her. " I would really like that." sje went to clean up after dinner.
Abraham held up his hand. shaking his head amd smiling at her. "you go get some rest. I will take care of this."
"but you made dinner. I should be cleaning up." she couldn't deny the sparks that made their way through her body as he reached his hand to touch hers. Their fingers resting for a moment tangled together.
"let me do this. you have had a long night. Go get some rest." she took a step away from him wishing for more.
" see you in the morning?"
"yes, I will male you breakfast before we go."
"you are going to spoil me and I will never be able to leave." he loved to hear her laugh as she no longer held back.
"that's the plan. I will make you every meal of you decide to stay." her breath hitched as she took in his words. The war inside her raging on. She was unsure of how to be right then in that moment. She decided to step foward placing a kiss on his cheek before making her way up the stairs and disappearing into the guest room.
Abraham stood there watching her more than anything he wanted to go to her and hold her in his arms. He was fighting his wolf trying to reason with himself. He knew he needed to take this slow. She had too much change in such a short amount of time and if they rushed in there trying to claim her they would run the risk of losing their mate. His wolf gave up angry they were not claiming Alana right then. Abraham finished cleaning up then made his way to his own room stopping for a moment in front of the guest bedroom where Alana slept. "One day at a time Abe. She has been through a lot." His hand moved to the cheek she had kissed before she retreated to her room. Her scent filling him and calming his body. She was beautiful and he could not wait to get to know her more. He prayed it was enough to make her want to stay.
He made his way into his room and showered quickly. He needed to wash away the day he had. He needed to wash away the ache he had inside. Pulling on a pair of bottoms he heard a scream call out and echo down through his bedroom door. "NO! Please, No!" His heart stopped and then he sprung out his bedroom door running down the hall to Alana. He burtst through her bedroom door as she lay there tossing and turning thrashing in her bed. He could see the sweat on her brow as he made his way to her grabbing her and bringing her into his arms.
"SHHHH, it's ok. I am here. No one is going to hurt you." He lay there rocking her in her arms as tears flowed down her face."Talk to me. Tell me what happened." His voice was calm and soothing and she took comfort him. She felt her body relax into his arms as the tears slowly dried up. She felt his hand brush over her cheek.
"It was my father. He is looking for me." Abraham was confused. He was still holding her in his arms.
"what do you mean? He can't find you here." Alana pulled back wiping away what tears were left.
Taking a deep breath in she looked away with sadness in her eyes. "He is connected still. Until I am fully mated. A siren is connected so they can link and speak to each other. He was calling out to me. He is angry. He wants revenge. No one is safe here if I stay."
Abraham pulled her closer to his chest again as she relaxed. He would take any moment close to her. He would hold her and rock her forever if it meant she felt safe. "Come on lets get you back in the covers. You need some rest. We will figure something out in the morning. I don't want you to go Ala...Hope. I want you to stay here and be safe." He tucked her into bed and kissed her on her forehead. He had to drag himself away from her knowing she wasn't ready for any of this. She wasn't ready for him. She reached out out pulling his hand towards her. "Hope? Are you ok?"
"Can you just sit in her for a little until I go to sleep. I just really don't want to be alone right now." Abraham smiled as he sat next to her never losing her hand. He would sit there for a thousand years if it meant she would stay. He sat there his eyes lids growing heavy. Soon it was too much for him and his eyes closed allwoing sleep to take him over. He welcomed it like he welcomed breath into his lungs.
The morning light was peaking through the curtains. The sun kissing her nose and her eyes fluttered open. She had fallen into a deep sleep like she had never had before. She just felt a calm wash over her when he was holding her hand. She had needed the rest and she had invited it. She realised then that she was laying on a hard bare chest. Looking up she saw the face of the chest she was laying on. Her hand rested on tight muscles, chiseld straight fromm a greek statue. She could feel her body heat at the thought of him next to her. She felt him stir from under her. She stopped moving so not to wake him up. His arm came to her wrapping her tighter in his body. She was trapped and wasn't trying to fight it. She could feel the heat rising from her body as she closed her eyes taking him in. His scent enveloping her causing her brain to haze. "I can feel you heating up you know," She blushed as he spoke to her, his eyes still closed. "I can really get used to waking up with you in my arms. It just feels right. How did you sleep?"
"It looks like we both fell asleep last night." She watched a smirk play across his face. She sat up slowly in her bed leaning against the head board. "I should probably get up and get ready." They sat there awkwardly for a few moments before climbing out of bed. Abraham made his way to the bedroom door and stepped out into the hallway. "Hey, I just wanted to say thank you."
He looked back at her with a confused look on his face. "Thank me for what?"
"For just being here with me. No one has ever just been here for me before."
"I would do it every night. Hope, I will always be here for you. Even if you don't chose us." She watched him leave as he left her there smiling. She had no clue who she was anymore, but she couldn't deny the pull she felt towards him. He made her feel alive in a way no one ever had before and she knew she wanted it but she sas scared of what would happen if she chose it. She had never allowed herself to hope like this before. The humor was not llost on her. Her name was hope and she was finally trying to obtain it for herself. Her sisters words playing in her head. you need hope. She wanted to hope. She wanted to believe that love was going to happen for her. She wanted to believe in Abraham. It was a bitter pill to swallow, knowing she had waited all her life for him and here he was at the worst time of her life. She wasn't sure if she could put everyone in danger. Her father wasn't going to give up on her and she knew that. She also knew what kind of man he was and how he wouldn't stop until she did what he wanted her to do. She was afraid of him. She was afraid of the consequences of defying him. She took a deep breath squeezing the bridge of her nose trying to stop he rmind from spinning. She needed to get out of her own head. She needed to just try and relax and enjoy the moment. She had never been allowed to do that before and she wasn't going to allow herself to be her own worst enemy. She had never allowed fear to stop her before. She knew she needed to try and let things go. Alana was going to try and just be happy. She needed hope.
