Alana paced back and forth in her room. Her hair a wet mess on her back. She could barely keep herself together as she waited for news on her sister. Abraham had left the suite for meetings on the situation and she felt like the suite was closing in on her. She just wanted to know her sister was alright. The door opened suddenly as Abraham came rushing into her. He stoppe din his tracks as he saw Alana starring at him in shock. "She is on her way. the warriors met them at the gates and she is in route as we speak." Alana took in a deep breath she hadn't even realized she was holding in. She could tell there was something more he wasn't saying. She could feel something more. "Tell me." She stopped pacing and looke dhim dead in the eye. "Do not hold anything back. I need to know. I can feel you are hiding something." He looked down away from her gaze. She could see right through him and he knew he couldn't hide anything from her. He wasn't sure how she would take the news he had to give her. He didn't bring his eyes back to her as he spoke."She doesn't look good.He poisoned her and she is in bad shape. She was tortured and he carved into her skin." Alanas eyes grew wide with his news. She looked at him curiously, fear creeping into her voice."What do you mean he carved into her skin?" "It was a message to you Alana." "What did it say Abraham?" He hesitated before telling her what was carved into her sisters body. He didn't want to tell her but her knew she deserved to know."It said 'you're next'." Alana stood there in silence. Her father had poisoned her sister and made sure to leave a permanent message. She had heard of him doing this to families in the siren world before but it had never hit home before. It was as though she had been detached from the reality that had become her father. She reached out grasping the couch that was beside her. She slowly slipped onto it letting everything Abraham had just said sink in to her. She was a roller coaster of mixed emotions as she felt the weight of the world pouring over her. "Can she be saved?" It was all she cared about in the moment. It as all she could allow herself to think about right then. Her sisters life was all that mattered to her. Abraham waited with baited breath as he watched her praying she didn't slip into the recesses of her mind. He wanted to take this all away from her and make her world right. To give her everything to make her happy and deliver her sister happy and healthy. He would fight her father and make sure he did not touch her, but what she wanted in this exact moment, the only thing she wanted was to know her sister would live. "I have a healer and a witch witht he warriors. They are working on her. I told them to save her no matter what." Alana sat there quietly a momnet longer. She felt Abraham move towards her and kneel down taking her hands in his. Shock had washed over her as she sat numb to the world around her. "What do you think the odds of her making it are. Don't lie to me. Just tell me the truth." "I am not sure. The healer said it was poison but, it was in the early stages and she was hopeful it was early. I am sorry I don't have more asnwers yet. They will all be here in the afternoon. They are flying in by dragon. Scarlett and Liam thought it would be best if we got her and her amte here faster." He looked away shame filling him. he wanted to give her the answers she needed to hear but he knew she needed the truth, and the truth was they did't know if she would make it. They just had to wait. The wait was the excrutiating part of it all. She couldn't help but wonder if her father designed the cruel wait as a joke for her escape. They sat there waiting for what felt like an eternity. Abraham finally got up from his spot next to her and made his way to the kitchen. "I am going to make you something to eat. You haven't been eating well and we need to keep up your strength." "I am not really hungry. I don't think I can eat." He was shaking his head as he pulled her up off the couch. "No, you need to eat. You need to be able to be strong when we get your sister here. She is going to need you to be strong and no matter what you are shifting tomorrow. What if I make you a chicken curry soup?" She smiled at his need to care for her. The aching in her heart still causing her heart to skip a beat. "Soup sounds good." She knew her face was telling her secrets. She was in anguish. She wanted her sister to be alright. It was like her world was thrust into a black hole and she was spinning mercilessly through the universe trying to dodge the rocks hurling towards her. She watched as he made his way around the kitchen chopping and simmering as he went. The suite filled with the delicous smell of their food and her stomach began to rumble from the deliciousness filling her senses. She couldn't deny she was hungrier than she thought. Abraham placed a bowl on the table for each of them and brought a plate of grilled garlic bread to the table. "Come on kitten you need to eat." She made her way to sit in the seat he held out for her and she could feel her mouth water. "It smells delicious." "They will be here soon so eat up. I will take you straight to her once you are finished. The healer and the witch said she is stable right now." She shook her head and shoveled a spoonful into her mouth. She could not deny it was good and she was hungry but the thoughts of her sister flooded her mind and her stomach threatened to bring every bite back up. She placed the spoon down on the table after a few bites unable to make herself eat any more. She just wanted her sister with her and she wanted to see her. "I can't eat any more. I am so sorry. I just really need to go to my sister." "Come on lets go see her. She should be at the hospital right now. We can find out more when we get there." He stood up taking her hand in his and gestured towards the door of their suite. "I will have someone come and clean this up. Lets just get over there. I know how much you need to see her." They made their way quickly out of the suite and to the hospital in the palace. There were people rushing all around them. Men and women in white coats and scrubs coming and going with charts in their hands. Alana was overhwlemed by the sight. So many people rushing past. Abraham cleared his throat commanding assitance with just that one act. His power oozed out of him as a man came rushing up to him right away, his white coat flapping behind him. "Your majesty," He bowed his head at Abraham and then continued to talk,"We secured the patient in a room and we have her stable at this time. We are trying a few methods to try and extract the poison from her system but unfortunately we have very limited knowledge of sirens so we are at a stand still right now. Please follow me and I will take you to her room." Alana took a deep breath and held on tight to Abrahams hand not wanting to let it go out of fear. The fear of losing her sister settlling into her mind. The long hallway felt like a million miles away as they walked in silence towards her sisters room. She could hear the swish of their shoes on the floor as they walked. Each step bringing her closer to the reality of her life. The reality that she may lose her sister and this may be the last time she ever saw her alive. A single tear fell from her eye and dropped down her face. It was a tear that symbolized all her past and shed her of her hope. If she lost her sister she would never recover and she knwe it. Her sister was her family and she needed her with every fiber of her body. Her mind was screaming at her, pleading for her to release the pwoer she felt surging inside her. The closer to her sister they got the harder the urge was to hold back. It was a restlessness that settled inside her begging to come out.
