The purple glow in her eyes was coming out and forcing her to close them. She was there standing in front of her sisters hospital door afraid to open the door and see what would greet her. Her throat was dry and she felt like she could barely breath. Her heart was pounding trying to claw its way out of her chest. Time felt like it was frozen for a breif moment. Alana swallowed hard as she pushed the door open. Her mouth fell open as she saw what condition her sister was in. She automatically brought her hand to her mouth holding back the tears that formed. Her sister was stretched out on the bed, her mate sitting beside her. The machines beeping their melodical tune. Her face was pale and she was having a hard time breathing. Her clothes were tattered and torn, revealing the message written across her chest. You're next. Alana could no longer hold herself back. Tears poured out of her eyes flooding her vision as she ran to grab her sisters hand in hers. She watched as her sisters eyes fluttered open. They were hollow as she smiled. She let out a cough as she spoke. "cough, cough, Alana, Please don't cry. You know what to do. You have the ability to heal me. You are special. You have to stand up and feel it in you. Cough, cough, I believe in you." Her eyes closed as she spoke.
Alana could feel a new energy buzzing inside of her. She could feel the sirens call pushing foward. Her eyes were a bright purple and her body began to glow a golden light. She felt her energy releasing from inside of her. She reached up holding her hand over her sisters face and placing a kiss on her forehead she felt her body heat as she felt her sister and her own energy mingle together. Everyone stood there in shock. Alana spoke no words as everyone saw the poison lift from her sisters body and dissipate in mid air like a ghost stealing into the night. Suddenly Alana fell to the ground no longer able to hold herself up. Her body was exhausted as she collapsed hitting the floor with a thunderous thud. Abraham rushed to her side gathering her into his arms. She lay there limp and unmoving. Her eyes still a haunting glowing puprle as she began to convulse. "Do Something!" Abraham yelled as he watched her helplessly.
Alana was surrounded by light as she opened her eyes. It was blinding her and warming her in its embrace. It was peaceful and calming. She was not afraid. She reached her hand out touching the golden light with the tips of her fingers. She felt it surround her and the words in her head were crystal clear. "My child, you are very special indeed. It is time you free your people. It is time to no longer hide in the shadows. Stand up and take your people under your wings and save them."
"But, How am I supposed to free them from my father? He is stronger than I am. I am just one person!"
"No my child. You are many. You are their savior. Lead them to safety. You hold great power in you. Always remember, you are not alone. Save your people. Take your stand. Their freedom is resting on you. You can do this. It won't be easy. I believe in you. Wake up." The light dissppeared leaving Alana alone. A coldness set in her that she had never felt before as a picture of her people flashed before her. They were there suffering at her fathers hands. They were living in fear. She knew she had to do something. She knew she had stood by for far too long and it was her calling to free them from his reign. She would die trying. She would do this and restore her sister as the rightful Queen of the sirens. She was scared but, she knew it was time to take her stand. Her eyes fluttered open as she woke up in Abrahams arms.
Her hand came to his face as he cried begging for her to be alright. She could feel his anguish inside of her. His feeling suffocating her. "Abe,"
He looked up into her eyes kissing her cheeks. "Don't ever do this again to me!"
She smiled at his concern for her. "I love you too. How is my sister?" He looked over at the doctor and nurses in the room and then back at her.
"She is going to recover because of you. She has a ways to go but you saved her life Kitten. You did it. I had no clue you could even do that. It was amazing. You are amazing." A smile spread across her face at the way he spoke to her. She felt every ounce of love pouring out with his words.
She slowly sat up and allowed him to help her to her feet. She would tell him what happened but first she wanted to see her sister. She wanted to see for herself she was going to be alright. Her heart melted as she saw the color had come back to her sisters face. There was a slight glow to her and the message that was carved into her was disappearing as she healed. Alana looked at her sisters mate with a huge grin on her face. "Thank you for getting her out of there. She is the reason I am alive."
"Alana, you saved her too. You took away what your father did. I am forever grateful to you. I feel like I owe you a debt. You saved me too. I know your father forced our mating and it wasn't what your sister wanted at first but I do love her. And if she choses I would let her be free, even if it killed me. I don't want to be her prison. i want her to chose me and love me the way i chose and love her."
Alan sat in a chair next to him and placed a hand on his knee. She heard Abraham growl ever so softly at the touch. "Pipe down handsome, it is my sisters mate nothing more." She turned back to her sisters mate and leaned in."I think she would chose you again." Alana took in a deep breath and removed her hand from his knee. She knew the mating wasn't what her sister had wanted at first but she could tell there was something more now. Something had grown she never saw before. "How did she get out of there?"
"I couldn't leave her there. I love her. He was torturing her. He was going to kill her. I would have died to save her. Your father didn't know I had fallen in love with her so I pretended like I was going to help him torture her and I had to keep myself together when I saw her. I couldn't understand how he could do that." She watched him choke back tears. She could feel his anger radiating off of him. "It is his own daughter. His flesh and blood. How did he become this monster?"
Alana thought back to when her mother was alive. Her mother was always smiling and making things fun. Her father would come in bringing her gifts and dancing with her in their living room even with no music playing. Then when her mother passed away everything went dark. The light he once held disappeared and he slowly turned into what he was. Her face was stoic as the memories flooded her mind. "He wasn't always like this. He loved our mother so much and when she died he broke. it was like whatever good was in him had been syphoned out and replaced with the darkness he is now. He could not function in the light anymore." There was a silence in the room. A silence of understanding. A deep need to know how a man can turn so cold and cruel and destroy the very kingdom he swore to uphold and protect. Now they all knew the very people he was crucifying was the very people that needed to be saved from him. Alana watched the rise and fall of her sisters chest as she took in small breaths. The beeping rang out like thunder in her ears. even Abraham stood silently waiting for anyone else to speak. Alana saw her sister start to stir amd they all perked up waiting for any sign of life from her. It felt like the minutes dragged on as they waited. She felt Abraham move behind her and place a hand on her shoulder. The silence was deafening as they waited, watching for anything from her sister. Alana moved closer to her sisters ear and whispered. "Don't give up sister, we have a kingdom to save and I can't do this alone. I did my part, now it is up to you to fight Come back to me."
