Chapter Ten Carrie pulled up outside the small factory, which stood in a quiet street in Northampton. The police had tied yellow tape across the entrance. But though the place was under investigation, she still owned it. She didn’t think she needed permission to go inside. Like the offices, Carrie had closed the factory down the minute she received the news that it was her devices that were coming to life and running amok. She’d given the order to stop production, send all the workers home and lock the doors. Only the police had been into the building since. She’d brought a spare set of keys from her office.
