"What the hell are you doing here?" Jisoo hissed at her brother as soon as he got inside the secluded room. "And with her? What the hell, Jungkook?"
"You were taking too long!" he answered back. "We need the money and you know that."
"I told you, I'm working on it," she stated. "You can't complicate things here more than it already is, Jungkook. That girl you're with? That's Jin's little sister. And she hates me. Seeing that she brought you here? I'm sure she's up to something."
"Relax, noona. She doesn't know who I am. Or my relationship with you."
"Are you sure about that?" she said as she folded her arms over her chest. "Lisa isn't someone to reckon with."
Jungkook just gave his sister a smile. "And I'm not? Seriously, Soo. You underestimate me. I meet swindlers and con artists on a daily basis. I can certainly deal with a spoiled brat."
Jisoo massaged her temples. "Kook, please. We can't risk you being here--"
"Risk? Really, noona? Or is it because you're already forgetting why you're actually here," he said as he folded his arms. Jisoo turned mute. "You're already in, Soo. You have him at the palm of your hands. Even that engagement ring can very much be sold at a very high price."
"And risk being caught? We won't be getting anything at all if you keep rushing things."
Jungkook rolled his eyes at his sister. "You think I'm dumb? You can fool everybody else but you cannot fool me. I'm your brother. We grew up together. You love him that's why you can't seem to leave him. The con artist fell for her target. What a damn good plot twist."
"I told you, that's not it," Jisoo insisted before heaving a sigh. "Everything was going as planned. But I didn't expect his sister to be this... well you met her. She's on to us. Taehyung I can handle. But that girl? She's out to get me, Kook."
"You're not fooling me, Soo-ya. But I can see you point," Jungkook said recalling how cunning the blonde girl was. "You wouldn't mind if I stay for a while, wouldn't you?"
Jisoo's brows furrowed. "Why? What are you going to do?"
"I'm gonna distract the hellcat."
"You just had to ruin our night."
Lisa and Taehyung were standing in front of their big brother inside his study. The twins eyed each other before turning towards the eldest again.
"I thought she's having an affair with him!" Lisa defended herself. "You saw the video. Don't you think I have the right to question your fiancee's loyalty? And in my defense, her record says she has no siblings."
"They don't look alike either," Taehyung supplied.
Jin massaged his temple--clearly losing patience. "You did a background check on my fiancee? Seriously, Lisa!"
"It's normal, Jin," she argued. "I have to know if this girl you're dating isn't a criminal or something."
"She wouldn't be in our company if she was," he spat back. "You doing these immature things makes me think whether you're really ready to be COO."
"Jin don't—" Taehyung tried to stop him but he was cut off by his own sister.
"Immature? You've got to be kidding me," she blurted out. "If anyone in this room is immature it's you. Who in the right mind would marry someone he just met? I mean, you didn't even know he had a fvcking brother! I understand her not knowing about your past relationships but you, not knowing her family? Seriously Jin. You have to get yourself checked."
"I can't force information out of her just like that, Lisa. You wouldn't know 'coz you haven't been in a real relationship."
This made Lisa raise an eyebrow.
"You're so f*****g unbelievable," she stated to which Taehyung agreed to. "This is why you need protection from me. Because you're too... You're too stupid to realize you're being played."
"How dare you call me stupid! I'm older than you."
"Apparently not mentally," she said rolling her eyes at him. "This is why you can't even close a fvcking deal without me."
"Without you? I am the CEO. I can close deals without you," he declared. "You always think you're better than everyone else—"
"Because I am," she immediately said.
"You are?" Jin scoffed. "You're not good without the company name, Lisa. You land those deals because of our company's reputation. As of today, I'm dismissing you from being the Director for Acquisitions."
"You're firing me? Really now?" She said with her arms folded over her chest and and eyebrow raised. "Fine. Go ahead and fire me. Let's see what grandma would say about this."
"Grandma doesn't care about you. She only allowed you to come back because I traded with her—"
"Do you really think it's that simple?" Lisa laughed at her brother. "You're fvcking clueless, Jin. Grandma only said that to make it look like you're earning her favor. The only reason why she wants me back is to marry me of with Jaeju's CEO to strengthen the merger.
"I've done research after you told me you bartered with her. And guess what I found out. Jaeju acquired rights to technology like that of a Tesla," she explained. "Imagine grandma's shock if she finds out I'm no longer in the picture. And of course I am allowed to say no since, I'm not part of the company anymore."
"Lisa I—"
"You've got it all wrong, brother." The way Lisa said the word brother felt like poison to Jin. He clenched his fists. "I don't need the company nor the last name. I'm a Kim by blood. That's good enough for me."
"You really are something."
Lisa almost screamed when someone suddenly spoke from behind her.
"Geez, grandma," she muttered. "Do you want me to give a fvcking heart attack?!"
"Such a filthy mouth," the elder hissed. "Are you a lady or a street rat?"
Lisa just rolled her eyes and propped her arm on her hip.
"Neither," she replied. "What do you want, old lady?"
Kim Daseom did not take offense. Instead she just smiled.
"I've heard you've been fired by your brother."
"Wow. News does travel fast around here."
"You two weren't loud enough, to be honest. Would've appreciated it if all the other guests heard. Saves us the time announcing your sudden departure from the company."
Lisa folded her arms over her chest and leaned by the kitchen counter.
"You thought you could trick me with an arranged marriage through Jin but I know you like the back of my hand, grandmother," she spat. "Your tricks are sure getting old, though."
"Is it?" The older woman laughed. "By now you know what those people have in their hands."
"As a matter of fact, I've already scheduled a private meeting with the new CEO."
"To what? Get them into bed with you?"
She grinned. "I don't see any problem with that. Jung Jimin is one handsome lad."
The elder's brows furrowed. The mere mention of the 'Jungs' can really take the smile on a Kim's face away.
For generations, YK Group had always been the number one company when it comes to tech. But one of the best computer engineers from their lab allegedly "stole" tech from their company and launched his own start up that made billions.
But Jung Hoseok didn't steal that tech. It was his and it was YK Group who was actually up to no good.
"Oh, did I forget to mention that JH, Inc. bought Jaeju Motors?" She grinned at her wide-eyed grandmother. "He bought it after I gave him the tip. Also ECM by the way since I was the one who busted my ass getting them to sign with YK."
"Is this your form of revenge? You've always been petty little brat—"
"Oh yes, grandma. I am. And I like that about me so much. Because winning against you makes it so satisfying."
Lisa brushed pass the older woman then turned to face her again as she reached the doorway.
"Oh and by the way, you're looking at the new COO of JH, Inc."
The matriarch couldn't help but smirk. That granddaughter of hers is as stubborn as her father was. But Lisa's tenacity? It was all from her.
"She's growing more and more like you, madam," Wooreum—their trusted butler for years, said.
"Is that you're indirect way of saying I'm a sly, cunning woman?"
"Strong, independent and determined would be the right term, madam," he said making the elder woman roll her eyes. "But sly and cunning can be added too."
Daseom turned towards the elder man and a curve formed on her lips.
"That's why she's my favorite grandchild."
"I guess you won't be paying me?"
Lisa jumped once again and seeing Jungkook's face pissed her off more.
"Seriously. People have got to stop sneaking in on me!"
The corner of Jungkook's lip slightly twitched. This girl, really. One moment she'd be a viper preying on the innocent and the other she looks like a cute little girl munching on her sandwich.
"I didn't sneak in on you," he stated. "You were just deep in thought that's why you didn't notice me coming."
Lisa rolled her eyes. "Right. What should I expect from thieves. They have light sounding steps."
"You're really one with words," the guy commented looking very amused.
"Why thank you," she replied in a very obvious sarcastic tone. "Aren't you gonna go back to whatever hole you came crawling from? It's way past twelve—"
"I'll be staying here from now on," he said cutiing her off. Lisa's eyebrow raised.
"And what gave you the idea you're even welcome here?"
"Jin hyung asked me to stay. With Jisoo noona," he stated. "I guess we'll be seeing each other more from now on."
"Why are you even telling me that? I don't really care if you're even gonna steal from us. We're rich. It wouldn't even put a dent in our bank accounts."
"That's rich coming from someone who keeps terrorizing my sister and calling her a gold digger."
"She can take all the gold she wants. I just don't want my brother to get hurt," she cleared. "We ear billions a day. I don't really care you take one or two."
Jungkook was amused. Beyond amused. The way she talk to them make it seem like she's one self-centered b***h. But her motives are pure. Guess this one's another case of those 'people who protects their loved ones no matter what it takes' people.
"But seeing as my brother believes your sister more than me, rob him for all I care. Take over our company even."
"You're really convinced we're conning your brother, huh?" He asked smiling.
"I know my brother," she explained. "No girl in their right mind would fall for him that fast not unless they want something from him. He's passive-aggressive. Only an i***t would fall for him that fast."
"Are you calling my sister and i***t?"
"That or she's a gold digger. Whichever's which, we'll see that soon."
Really, this girl is too honest.
"I get that you can say bad things about other people but your own brother?" He questioned. "How can you say that?"
"Well, duh? As you've said, he's my brother. I grew up with him. Also, we're a Kim. All of 'Kim's are passive-aggressive."
"They you're saying you're one too?"
"Yeah. I'm actually the worst, between us three," she said as she finishes her snack. "That's why I don't do relationships."
"Oh really now?" He smirked. "Then how's you explain Min Yoongi?"
Lisa brows furrowed. "Are you high? Or did intense wealth suddenly made you mad?"
Jungkook took his phone out and showed images of Lisa and Yoongi holding hands. Then of them kissing by the streets of New York. Even laughing as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Where di you fvcking get that?!"
As soon as Lisa was gonna grab the phone, Jungkook immediately hid it inside his pocket.
"You're not the only protective sibling, Lisa," he said grinning. "And blackmail is my specialty."
