"You have a two o'clock meeting with the board for the upcoming release and a dinner meeting with the French investors," Yoongi informed his boss. "Here are the reports from the Engineering team regarding the wireless chargers and upgrades for your approval. Also, the Marketing team submitted their marketing plan for next month's OS release."
Jin flipped through the pages and nodded. "Thanks, Yoongi. Are there any other issues?"
"None at the moment, sir," he said formally. "But regarding my re--"
The twin doors to Jin's office suddenly opened. "Good morning big brother! I brought you some drinks. but don't get the one labeled coffee. Yours is tea--since caffeine would just make you horny and we wouldn't like that."
"Are you bribing me?" He questioned. "Jisoo told me you bailed on her last night. She couldn't even find Taehyung since you invited she who must not be named."
"Really now, Jin? You can't even say her name?" Lisa teased. "How childish can you even get?"
"Don't change the subject," he hissed. "You left Jisoo in the club with no one. I had to pick her up since she didn't bring her car after you forced her to come with you and your friends."
"It's a club, Jin. How scary can that place be?" Jin wasn't having it. "Fine. I'm sorry okay? There was just this cute guy and it's been so long since I had a good one night stand."
Jin rolled his eyes at his sister who skipped away and sat on the couch—rather comfortably with her feet on the coffee table, inside his office.
"So where's Mrs. Kim-to-be?" She asked. "No extra workout today?"
"Mouth, Lalice."
"How can Jisoo stand you, oppa? You don't have any sense of humor—"
"Jin the planner—" Jisoo suddenly walked in halting her steps as she saw a smirking Lisa. "Oh. Hi Lisa. I didn't know you were coming."
Lisa smiled. "Well, I kinda want to make up for what I did last night."
She motioned the cups of coffee--an a tea, on the table. There were four just in case Taehyung suddenly shows up.
"I know it was rude of me to suddenly just leave you behind after inviting you," she stated. "I just got uh... distracted."
"My sister found another innocent soul to taint last night," Jin translated making Jisoo chuckle.
"It's no bug deal, Lisa. But I'll take you peace offering since I really need some caffeine in my body," she said sitting across Lisa and taking a cup of the drink herself.
"Why? Did my brother not let you sleep last night?" she teased.
"Lisa."
"Don't act like such a virgin, Jin. It doesn't suit you."
Jisoo stifled a laugh.
Jin looked heavily offended. "So now you're ganging up on me?"
Lisa shook her head before turning towards Jisoo. "He's such a drama queen. I'm warning you before you make the biggest mistake in your life by marrying my brother."
"There's divorce so I still have options," she joked.
"Ya!"
The two girls laughed.
"I seriously don't know if I'd be happy or pissed with you two getting along."
Lisa smirked. "You said that with me and Jennie too. Can you be more original?"
"Lisa."
She glanced over at a confused Jisoo.
"Oh, she doesn't know?" she asked. "Well, allow me to at least be honest with you about my brother's past relationship with my best friend Jennie."
"Don't--"
Jisoo glared at Jin making him stop. Then he turned towards Lisa.
"Honest?" she asked. "Why? What happened?"
"Well, they were once engaged too," Lisa answered nonchalantly. "But my brother cheated on her with an employee here--not you of course. He basically scarred her for life. But don't worry about it. She's happily single and occasionally bangs my twin brother."
"Bangs? They're together?"
"Nope. My brother's... well, gay. But they like hanging out together." The confused look on Jisoo's face made Lisa smile. "Complicated relationships are a thing in our family, eonnie. I can call you eonnie, right?"
Still confused and a bit out of it, she nodded.
"I think... I think I need a minute." Jisoo stood up. "Thanks for the coffee, Lisa."
"Soo--" Jin said but the girl walked out of the room. His eyes threw dagger at his sister. But Lisa wasn't even affected one bit. She just sat there and drank coffee. "You just have to tell her about her! I thought we talked about this. I love Jisoo."
"But it doesn't look like it," she said looking through her cup then towards her brother. "If you love someone, shouldn't there be no secrets between the two of you? You should be honest with her."
Not listening, Jin still looked pissed. "You cannot just butt in our relationship, Lalisa. It's not yours to play with."
The eldest walked out of his office to follow his fiancee. Lisa just rolled her eyes before standing up. But just before she could step out of the office, she turned her attention towards the empty seat.
She smirked.
"You actually told her about me?" Jennie asked with a raised eyebrow. They're currently inside Taehyung's office. How and why Jennie was there, Lisa didn't want to ask. The hickeys on her neck were enough to feed her curious mind.
"What? I just wanted her to know," she answered innocently. "And besides, it's not like you're still into him, Jen. You're not even a threat."
"But she is," Taehyung butted in as he sat beside Jennie. "To my gayness, that is."
"You just can't keep your hands off me now, can you?" Jennie teased as she leaned closer to him.
"As a matter of fact..." Taehyung said leaning in even closer. "What do you say we continue this at my place."
"Ugh can you two stop?" Lisa blurted out rolling her eyes. "You make me want to puke."
The two laughed as Taehyung put his arm around Jennie's shoulder. These two looked so weird. So weird that it fits.
"You know you just pissed our brother off, right?"
She shrugged. "Nothing new about that."
Taehyung sighed. Jennie started to get serious.
"Lisa, you should stop butting into your brother's business. You can't keep driving his girlfriends away."
"I will stop only if I see they're not just using him for his money," she stated. "I only approved of Jennie but he just had to screw it up."
Jennie sighed. They all know how broken Jennie was when Jin cheated on her.
"Lis, we all know he doesn't feel the same way I did back then. And I've moved on. I'm happier now. I'm single and I'm not in any way rushing to settle down."
"There goes my surprise proposal," Taehyung joked earning a slap on his shoulder.
"You're not much of a husband material, Tae," Lisa savagely stated. "You might cheat on her when you see a handsome guy in the club."
"Stop diverting the topic, Lisa," Jennie said. "You're manipulating us again. Stop it. And you're trying to manipulate your brother. Just let him be. If that girlfriend of his becomes as threat one day then I know you can very much take care of it. But right now, please, just let your brother enjoy being in love."
"That's the thing, Jen," Lisa defended. "I don't want that to happen. I don't want another Sooyoung in his life."
"Ah, the great Sooyoung Bae," Taehyung said. "But you do realize that happened in middle school. They were pretty young and immature—"
"But that didn't stop Jin to almost take his own life, Tae," she cut him off.
"You'll get into trouble again."
"I won't. I'm Lalisa Kim, remember?"
As Lisa walked the halls, she couldn't help but stare at the empty COO office located just across Taehyung's.
It was always her dream to be part of the company their family built. Be part of the dynasty and be the one responsible for it to be even more successful.
Then she heard footsteps.
"Here's the file you wanted." Lisa turned around to face Yoongi. "That's her resumé and. And some personal information from the HR. I'm surprised you didn't hire you own private investigator for this."
"Who says I didn't?" She answered back. "But the guy I hired hasn't contacted yet and the engagement's tomorrow."
Lisa flipped the folder open and scanned the documents.
"So she's an orphan," she said. "And she didn't even finish college? How'd she end up becoming a director?"
"She's good, Lisa," Yoongi explained. "I heard from the PR team that's she's really good at her job."
But she didn't look convinced. There's something fishy with this woman and she won't stop 'til she finds out what it is.
"So I was thinking..." Yoongi suddenly said as she was flipping through the folder. "Maybe we can go to the engagement party together? I don't think they'd see it as we're together together."
"Oh. I have date."
Yoongi's brows instantly furrowed.
"Is it your brother?"
"I'm not that desperate, Yoongi."
"Then who?" he asked. "Is it someone I know?"
She closed the folder with a sinister look in her eyes and an evil smirk plastered on her face.
"Nope. But Jisoo does."
"Are you seriously gonna be cold to me all night?" Jin asked as he entered the room Jisoo's in. She's already dolled up for the engagement party but she still hasn't talked to his fiancé. "Soo... Talk to me, please. I don't like it when you're mad at me."
Jisoo—who was facing the mirror, sighed before facing him.
"I'm not mad at you," she said as he walked closer to her and crouched down. "I just... are we moving too fast? I mean, I didn't even know you were engaged before. I don't even know half of the facts about you. I... should we slow down?"
"Soo..." Jin held her hands tightly. "Why would we? We love each other. I love you. I don't want to waste time waiting. I know we're meant to be. I feel it. And I know you do too."
"But Jin..."
"Is it because I cheated?" He asked—his voice cracked a bit. Jisoo's heart clenched. "I was young, Soo. I was nineteen. I didn't know any better. But I changed. I swear."
"Jin..."
He kneeled. Kim Seokjin fxcking kneeled in front of her. Jisoo was shocked. The high and mighty CEO of Korea's top company, SK Group, is begging.
"Please, Soo-ya. I'm far different now than I was before—"
"No Jin," she said making Jin look defeated. "I mean, don't do this."
She stood up and helped him stand as well.
"Soo?"
Instead of answering, she wrapped her arms around his torso. Tightly. Jin was able to breathe freely again because of it.
"Thank God," he said. "I thought for a second there you'd make me cancel the engagement."
"I love you too, Jin," Jisoo said as she locked gazes with him. "And I'm seriously not mad. I'm just frustrated. I want to know things about you, Jin. All of it."
"You will. I promise," he said reassuringly. "You'll be my wife soon. We'll get to know each other."
"But at least now I learned something new," she suddenly said.
"My past relationships?" Jisoo shook her head saying 'no'. "What?"
She heaved a heavy sigh.
"Your sister hates me."
"You just have to bring me, huh, Kim Taehyung," Jennie muttered as she folded her arms over her chest. "Almost half of Seoul knows you're gay so just bring a guy as your date. Stop torturing me."
"Jealousy ain't good on you, baby girl," Taehyung replied smiling. "And why would I bring a guy if I have the most beautiful woman in the country as my date?"
The brunette rolled her eyes at her date and turned her attention on her glass of champagne. Then everyone's attention suddenly went to the couple walking down the staircase. Midway, they stopped.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Jin said.
His commanding voice echoed trough the crowded room as if he was using a microphone to speak. That or everyone in the part just knows how to shut up.
"Thank you all for coming and gracing us with your presence in one of the most significant day of my—our, life," the CEO said then turned his attention towards the beauty that is Jisoo Jeon. "Our romance came unexpectedly. And just like those kinds or romances..."
Just as Jin was telling everyone how he and Jisoo met, soft whispers and murmurs can be heard.
"Thought you'd like to see the show that's why I asked you to come," Taehyung suddenly said grinning. Jennie's brows furrowed.
Her date then pointed towards the grand entrance—which was strategically located directly in front of the grand staircase. Jennie's eyes grew wide.
Lalisa Kim in bloody red with a new face for an arm candy. She clearly heard how Jisoo gasped.
"Hi guys," Lisa greeted innocently. "What did we miss?"
