"I apologize for my sister," Taehyung said once Jisoo and him were left alone after Lisa left and Jin went out to follow her. "She was expecting for a promotion not a new sister-in-law."
Jisoo sighed. "She thinks I'm a gold digger."
"Don't worry about it that much," he assured her. "She thinks that on all his past girlfriends."
"And do you? I mean, do you think I am a gold digger?"
He shrugged. "Not so much. Jin and I might not see eye to eye but, there must be something in you he sees that made him put a ring on your finger."
"He really didn't tell you two about us?" she asked. "Not even when he called you guys here?"
"Lisa thought she was getting a promotion, I thought I was getting fired. So no, he didn't even give us a clue," he answered.
She sighed. "I see."
"So whose idea was it to call us over?" Tae said after taking another sip off his mimosa. "Yours? I highly doubt that this is our grandma's idea. Nor Jin's."
"I wanted to meet you two," she said. "And a little sibling rivalry shouldn't be something that'll get in the way of being a family."
"I guess you were really lying when you said you've heard a lot about us," Taehyung said chuckling. "'Coz if you did hear stories about my twin sister, you should've waited 'til the day of your marriage."
"What the actual f**k, Lis?"
Lisa rolled her eyes before stopping on her tracks.
"So that's the reason why you told me I can come back?" she said as she turned towards her brother. "After you banished me?"
"Lisa. You know I've always wanted you to be here—"
"Cut the bullshit, Jin," she spat cutting him off. "We both know why you wanted me to be as far away as possible to the company. You already won. Since the day you were born, you're already the first pick for CEO. Why take it out on me? All I wanted was to help you out, not take your f*****g position."
"You know it wasn't my decision," he defended. "It was grandmother's. You know she's the one who pulls the reigns. Not me."
"But you could've fought for me!" she argued. "You had all the right, Jin. You're the fxcking CEO. Not her. She's retired, for f**k's sake! Just admit that you don't have any fxcking balls even if you screw all the girls in this company."
"Lisa!"
She ignored him and continued to walk away. But Jin followed her.
"Lisa, please. Hear me out—"
"You wonder why I only call you for business. Why, did you even bother calling me to ask me about my day? How your eighteen-year old sister was doing away from her family? No. Because you didn't fxcking care. At least Taehyung calls me every other day."
"Lis, I'm sorry," Jin said genuinely. "I really am."
This made Lisa turn around to face him with her arms folded. She loves her brother. More than she chooses to admit.
"That's why I called you back, Lali. I want to fix things."
Lisa didn't say anything. A big part of her wants to have her big brother back. Sure Taehyung's a great brother but he's not really an "anchor". Being twins, they basically let each other do whatever the other wants. Even if it was world domination or something.
Truthfully, they were really close. He was actually the reason why she took interest in business as she grew idolizing Jin who at the young age of eighteen, took over their father's company when he suddenly passed. For a fourteen year-old, he was like a superhero.
But it all changed when she interned for the company one summer. Who knew a young girl like her had a knack for business. And who knew a sixteen-year old can manipulate grown men into submitting?
So after her 18th birthday, their grandmother sent her abroad to study. But also, help with acquisitions of international deals as well as branding. Basically anything that would keep her away from Seoul. From the heart of the company.
"I'm sorry I didn't protect you from our grandmother," he said as he placed his hands on my shoulders. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to do anything to get you back before. But it changes now. You're staying here for good."
"What did you barter with grandmother for my head?"
"She may or may have mentioned about a merger," he answered then sighed. "Jaeju Motors."
"What?!" She blurted out. "That trash of a company? Oppa, as much as I appreciate the gesture but that company is a liability. If we take them in, they'll just feed off of our resources. It's not much of a smart move—"
"I know, I know," he responded. "But it's nothing we can't fix. As long as I can have my baby sister back, I'm willing to do anything."
Convinced of her brother's sincerity, Lisa tackled him with a big hug. Way out of character.
"Woah, is this real or am I just seeing things?"
Min Yoongi—Jin's Executive Secretary, interjected. Looking polished in a suit, the guy turned towards his boss.
"You're meeting for three pm has been rescheduled for tomorrow morning," he said. "The French investors' flight was delayed for a day because of a personal emergency on Mr. Smith's part. But you do have a 1 o'clock with the Hwang's."
"I didn't expect you to be back so soon, Yoongi," the CEO said. "I thought you said you're taking a week off? It's been just three days."
"Well, there was some unforeseen events that cut my vacation short," he said giving a quick glance towards Lisa who snuck a wink right under her brother's nose.
"Well since you're here, I'm personally inviting you to my engagement party this weekend. Black tie," Jin said then turned back to his sister. "I'll see you back at home, 'kay?"
Lisa nodded before he left. Then she faced Yoongi.
"Shall I drive you home?" he asked.
She smirked. "I'm always up for a little side trip."
"Engagement party?" Yoongi asked while giving a questioning look towards Lisa who was busy putting on a shirt.
"Jisoo Jeon. You can just imagine my surprise," she stated. "But at least now I get to stay."
"Yeah..." Yoongi muttered as he leaned on the headboard of her bed.
Her brows furrowed. "Why do I feel like you're not happy I get to stay?"
He sighed. "I'm happy, really. I won't miss you that much now that you're in town. But I'll miss our dates where no one knows who we are. You and I both know we can't be seen out together after office ours here in Seoul."
Lisa felt a bit guilty. It's hard keeping a secret relationship. Yoongi and her had been dating for almost two years now and not a soul—except for her twin brother of course, know about them. And she wants to keep it that way 'til she lands a stable position in the company.
"Yoongi..." she placed her hand on his toned torso. "I'm sorry I'm not like my brother. I'm not in a good place yet so I have no choice but to keep us a secret."
"I understand, Lis," he said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "I just... I just enjoy the freedom. That's all. But really, I'm happy you're back. I get to hear your snarky commentaries during board meetings."
"That's if Jin finally gives me the COO position," she said. "It'd be amazing to work with my brother again."
"It's a sure call, Lis. Who else will take that position aside from you?"
"I dunno. Tae?"
"You know you're brother hates it here."
She shrugged. "Or that bimbo my brother's getting married to."
"That's not a very nice way to describe your new sister-in-law, Lis."
"What's wrong with what I said? She's clearly after our family's money. Why else would he date the CEO?"
"You do know I'm not part of your circle, Lisa. And I'm dating you. Does that mean I'm after your money too?"
"You're different," she replied. "You're after my body."
Yoongi chuckled as he shook his head. "You shouldn't judge every person you meet."
"What can I do? I don't even trust my own family how'd you think I'd trust her?"
"But you trust Taehyung. And sometimes me."
"Taehyung's my twin. You're... well you're you."
"Get to know her first, Lis," he suggested. "You might like her. I heard she's quite like you. Driven, fierce..."
"Cunning and manipulative?" She supplied. "I can see how she managed to land a director position."
Yoongi eyed her making her roll her eyes.
"Fine. Fine. I'll get to know her." Then she straddled him. "But I might need something in return."
He grinned.
"That's my girl."
"A club? Really?" Taehyung said with an eyebrow raised. "You cannot be any more obvious, Li. Are you finally losing your touch?"
"I am not," she said. "I just really missed my friends so I invited them here. I just invited Jisoo because Jin said I should get to know her."
"You, listening to our brother?"
She rolled her eyes. "Fine. Yoongi told me it would be best to see for myself what kind of woman she is."
"There it is. You won't listen to your big brother but you'd listen to your boy toy," he teased. "You seriously need to set your loyalties straight."
"As long as it can be straighter than you it's fine," she teased back. Taehyung feigned offense.
"You b***h!" He jokingly exclaimed. "So when will the Park siblings arrive? I'm itching some dirty dancing right now."
"Stop using Jennie as your beard, Tae," Lisa warned her twin. "Have pity on my poor girl's heart."
"Well she enjoys me as much as I enjoy her," he said shrugging. "And we both know I'm not straight so, yeah."
"That's complicated as fxck."
"Says the one screwing around with the same guy but isn't in a committed relationship."
"Well our parents did scar us for life," she said which he agreed. They clinked their cocktail glasses together. "But I do miss them."
"Same," he said before sipping his drink.
"Hey baby," Jennie said smirking.
"I hate that endearment, Jen. I prefer honey."
"It wasn't for you," she told Taehyung before giving Lisa a big hug. "How long was it since Paris? I miss our shopping trips."
"Why does it still sound like you're talking to me baby girl?" Taehyung flirted making the cat-eyed girl roll her eyes and smile—flirtatiously.
"Stop flirting with me. You're disgusting."
"Save the s****l tension for later," Lisa said rolling her eyes at the two. "Where's Chae? I miss that chipmunk sister of yours."
"Got caught up at the bar," Jen said pointing at the bar counter on the ground floor. They're actually at the VIP lounge overlooking the bar and dance floor. "You know her. When there's a cute guy, he's her soulmate."
"That's Chaeyoung for you," Taehyung commented as he drank from his glass. "A true blooded romantic."
They laughed as they watched the girl embarrass herself. They'd stop her but they all know she won't listen.
"I can't take this," she said then chugged her drink. "I need to put a stop to this—"
"Don't you dare," Jennie immediately stopped her. She chuckled and made her way to the staircase.
But before she was able to walk down, a certain brunette caught her attention.
Jisoo Jeon pulling an unknown man to the side—specifically the restrooms. Curious, she secretly followed them to eavesdrop. Her brother did say to get to know her, right?
"What the hell are you doing here? Did you follow us?"
Lisa raised an eyebrow. She was right. This woman is shady af. Fishing her handphone out, she started recording.
"You say that all the fxcking time! I can't just wait at the sidelines, Soo," the guy argued.
Do they know each other? Are they a couple?
"I'm getting engaged, Kook."
"What?" the guy blurted out. "Then what about me? You're just gonna abandon me?"
"No! I won't ever do that to you, you know that," Jisoo assured him. "Even when I'm engaged, our relationship would still be the same."
Lisa managed to grin. Bingo.
Walking out of the bar, Jungkook was furious. How dare she abandon him after everything? She think's she's better than him now that she managed to get her hands on that billionaire guy.
"Tch." Hands inside his pocket, he gave the bouncer a nod. There goes his last 10000 won.
"You're in a bad mood."
Jungkook stopped and turned towards the feminine voice. The girl looked badass in her black leather jacket and leg-hugging black pants as she leaned on the wall. Her well toned abdomen peaking from her cropped top was a sight to see. Not to mention she's sporting a high ponytail.
"Do I know you?" he asked.
"No," she said as she stood straight and started to walk closer to him. "But soon enough, you will."
Jungkook's brows furrowed. "What do you mean?"
Her fingers trailed on his shoulder as soon as she was only inches away from him.
"Let's just say that today's your lucky day, Kook."
