Chapter 8 Ivy turned her face toward the dawn of another day. She was concentrating on her warm-up stretches on the columned terrace by the Greek-inspired pool, the designated meeting place for the morning beach walk. As the sun rose over the cliffs that cradled the community of Summer Beach to the east, broad strokes of pink and orange formed a watercolor background for silhouetted palm trees in the foreground. She fixed the image in her mind to draw on later for painting. Standing on one foot, Ivy bent the other leg behind her and grabbed her toes to stretch her quads. As she was stretching her tight muscles, she saw Imani striding across the patio, her bright floral skirt swishing around her calves.
