There were no words to explain the relief that I felt when we finally managed to make it back to my pack. In all honesty, I had been so apprehensive throughout the entire journey that it had been nearly impossible for me to focus on anything other than the warning that Aurora had given me—a warning that proved to be nothing more than a waste of time. Because nothing had happened. There hadn’t even been so much as a hint of danger throughout the entire trip, and yet, I had been angsty and on my nerves the entire time. I knew that those feelings would be bound to carry through into the rest of the interactions that I had with my people. I was no expert, but I did know myself and my habits.
