CHAPTER 6

Mia's pov The next day. I opened my eyes after a long sleep. It wasn't a perfect sleep for me. I just got to close my eyes. Pains ran through my body due to where I slept. I stepped down from the couch and I stretched my body. Sounds of cracks could be heard arduously. A light breath left my nostrils. Looking all around, Jullian was still sleeping soundly. ‘Hmph!’ I made that sound within me. ‘A disgust to me. He couldn't even give up his position for me to lay my head on.’ I thought in my head while my eyes looked at him with total hate. I stepped hastily and by the time I entered the bathroom. I took my bath. It was a warm morning bath since the weather was cold. I stepped out of the bathroom fully cold. I felt my mouth shivering even though I used warm water to take my bath. Jullian finally opened his eyes. His mouth widened as he yawned aloud. He stretched all the path of his body while he rolled gently on the bed. I didn't bother to greet him even though I saw he was awake. I parted my hair gently while I tried to wear my gown. Jullian stepped down from the bed only for me to feel his warm breath behind me. “What do you want?” I turned to face him. My eyes were questioning. “And what do you even mean by that? I am your husband, can't I come behind you to help you. It is obvious that you are stuck in that long gown.” He arched his brows as those words left his lips. “You should at least watch your mouth before speaking to me this morning. Don't you know that you reek?” I gazed into his eyes and I could see how embarrassed he was. That facial embarrassment gave me a heads up on excitement. Jullian put his hand close to his mouth. He breathed on it just to feel if the smell from his mouth was that bad. After his short experiment, he realized it wasn't that bad with the expression on her face. “Why are you making a big deal out of it? It doesn't smell that bad. You…” Jullian felt hurt to the extent that he doesn't know how to express himself. I was happy with the development on his face and how he retired into the bathroom just to wash his mouth. When he was done, he came out again just to meet with me. “What do you want?” I half-gazed into his eyes. “I don't have the right to look at you? Why are you this difficult?” He furrowed his gaze at me. “Am I being difficult at all? No… I just wanted to know what you want. Because I know you don't go after people without having something in mind.” Hearing those words from my mouth, he swallowed the saliva in his mouth. “I don't have the time for this word banter. Good morning anyways.” Before I could give a proper response, he removed the upper layer of his clothing and then retired into the bathroom to take a warm bath. ‘He isn't looking that bad.’ I admired him secretly. I had to stroke myself on the face. ‘I shouldn't have said that.’ I cautioned myself and my heart. After I was fully dressed, I intentionally waited until he was done. And when he stepped out of the bathroom and still met me in the room, he was surprised. I could read it in his face. “Why are you staring at me like that?” His deep voice penetrated my ear. “What is in your body to stare at? Hmph. Stop being full of yourself.” I spoke casually. “Since you are not all about my body, you are fully dressed. Then, get out of my room already.” He furrowed his gaze at me and there was an expression of anger on his face. “Okay. Don't raise your voice at me. I am out of here already.” I hissed and stood on my feet before I stepped out of his room. Getting outside, I moved to the dining room to eat. I don't have to wait for him. Getting to the dining room, I was surprised to see Jillian’s sister seated. ‘Damn. This morning would be difficult for me. Let me just go back.’ I thought in my head. Knowing fully well that they don't have an ounce of love for me. I knew they thought I was just there to milk their brother. And that was why, I deemed it fit to retract. As I turned to take my leave, unfortunately, they had their gazes on me. “Mia. Aren't you going to join us for dinner?” One of them spoke in a lively tone. Hearing that tone of hers, I knew it was a mere trap and I am not willing to get into their mess that morning. “I will. I forgot something in the room.” Hearing me say those as an excuse, they laughed out hysterically. I could tell that those laughs were mockery. I quickly wanted to pace out of there only for me to hear their side talk. “I bet she thought we were as foolish as she is. She thought that lame excuse could buy us.” One of Jillian's sisters said that. “What do you expect from an impoverished bastard? She hasn't seen money all her life. And that's the reason she came up with a lame excuse to avoid us.” Hearing the both of them speak ill about me, I got angry and I gritted my teeth. ‘What nonsense is this? If it is not for my grandpa, would I marry this son of a b***h?’ Those hurtful words left my lips because of what those girls were saying behind my back. While I was still standing there in anger, I heard footsteps of Jillian approaching where I was. I had to man up and just try to go to the dining room. When they saw me approaching the dining room, the both of them tapped each other, sending a cautious message.
