Claire's pov

today's my birthday I'm turning sixteen, 25th of November sixteen years ago I was born. waking up roll my eyes. I hate my birthday with a passion. I just want to go to school now that stuff has settled down and then chill out with jay. I know I wouldn't be that lucky. not to sound like a ungrateful botch or anything but I know Te wants to make a fuss. so I put on some cute black strap on wedge heels, a short red slip dress and wear my hair down in beach waves with a diamond choker on my throat and today I'm wearing red lipstick instead of light pink tint. walking down stairs I hear Te squeal "oh look how beautiful she is" she crys to Gus who also smiles as his wife's antics. there's presents upon presents piled around the living room all wrapped with silver wrapping complete with white bows. "Te you really shouldn't have I told you I have everything I could ever want" I say looking around. "okay okay, I know you want to just chill out with your friends after school so how about you just open this and then you can go." Te says pointing to a rather large box. "okay just one" I say walking over "then you open the rest tonight" Te adds quickly. I lean down and open the box. "oh my God!" "I know you don't want to but I was woundering if you'd let us throw you a party on the weekend since today is Friday and you want to spend it with your friends, hey how about you sleep over maybe, yeah? text me after school and let me know. kay?" I nod "oh one more present you have to open" Gus says smiling as I go to leave there's a beautiful white Tesla sports car sitting in the drive way shinning in the morning sun. Gus grins happy to please me "you don't have your licence yet tho but Chad can drive you in it" Te says and I nod as I walk down the steps waving to them "bye, thank you!" I hop into the car and look around at the beautiful interior. it even smells like new car. Chad gets in and rides me to school but i get him to stop at the corner before the school so that people wouldn't get weird around me more than usual. walking into school I mmet the guys at my locker "happy birthday" they all greet me. I almost cry "don't get soppy on us Claire" Sam jokes as I wipe away tears "thank you all" I say looking to each one of them. of course jay wasn't there he's probably late because he's got something for me. so I thank the boys and head out to the car park to wait for him. sure enough a few minutes before the bell is about to go his car pulls in and get get out the car as I tun up to him. "hey you" I say wrapping my arms around him wearing my fake fur jacket. I hear him chuckle "hey baby" he says turning around to give me a kiss. "I got you a few things but this is for you to open now the rest are at home. he hands me a small box, the kind you get jewellery in. I open it and find a white gold ring tjat looks like two bands twisted together with diamonds set in them. "umm jay? what is this?" he rolls his eyes "it's a ring" I slap him on the arm "you know what I mean" he sighs picking the ring up and holding my hand "remember when I asked you what I could do to prove I wouldn't ever hurt you?" I nod "this is a promise ring, I know that it might not make you feel safer bit when you look at it I want you to think about this promise" I look up at his chocolate brown eyes "mkay" I say and he slips it on to my ring finger on my right hand. it's so beautiful it sparkles in the sunlight throwing rainbows. "come on we don't want to be late" I say dragging him along to class.

the rest of the day seems to go by super fast and before we know it I'm sitting in jays car driving to his place. I look at the ring and twist it around my finger "you like it?" he asks "of course I do dumb arse" I say laughing he leans over while driving and quickly kisses me. "my God you've gotten mushy lately." I joke bringing a smirk to his face. we both know he's gotten more mushy since we've been getting more physical more often. it's been about two months now that we've been together. it's been great, nearly every day after school I've been coming to his place to hang with him or the boys and at least three or four times a week we mess around in his bedroom. we still haven't gone any further than hands but I don't think he minds. "are the boys gonna be here?" I ask as we drive down his street "yeah but if you want to just spend some time with me I can ask them to leave" he says "no but maybe later, Te said she thinks I should sleep over at my 'friends' house" I tell him. he nods but doesn't say anything "I'll tell them about us one day" I promise "it's fine, really" he assures me. I'm just worried because they're so rich and popular I think they'd expect me to date someone like them and I don't want them to not Like you. it would make me feel like s**t if they didn't approve of you just because your not some rich arsehole who's been fed on a golden spoon his whole life. even though you do have a really wealthy family, I just I don't know how to explain it. the life style they have is just so different." I sigh knowing it's also my life style now too. "it's fine, I guess.

I understand" he says holding my hand. I pull my long hair up into a high ponytail as i get out of the car. holding my hand jay walks with me up to the house which already has the door unlocked and loud music thumping. he smiles "the boys wanted to have a party for you, if that alright? it was kinda meant to be a surprise but I thought I'd warn you in case you might not want it. I lean in and whisper "I told Gus and Te I didn't want a party but this will be fine" he smiles and shows me his dimples. "let's go then" opening the door I walk past him into the house. there's alot of people I don't really know but that's cool, there's the girls who I hung out with for a while at school and a couple other kids from school and the dudes from the lakehouse. smiling I wave to a few people as I follow jay around the house. there's lights flashing and loud speakers everywhere. "wanna graba drink!" jay yells over the noise "yeah" I giggle as he holds onto my hand to pull me through the crowd. we end up in the kitchen, and he opens up the fridge. "what the hell!" I laugh looking at the fridge completely full of alcoholic beverages. "I knew you liked crusiers but I didn't know if you liked anything else got I got a but of everything there's also eskys outside around the pool and backyard" he says with pride in his voice. " me and the boys haven't thrown a party in a while" he pulls out a beer for himself and a crusier for me opening the bottle tops he passes one of the bottles to me. "thanks" I say as he grabs my other unoccupied hand and shows me out the sliding door to the pool area where there's less people. I look around and notice fairy lights have been strun up around the place. "you did a great job, the place looks amazing" I say watching him try not to look too pleaser with himself. "I set it up this morning" I nod "figured, your always late to school when you plan stuff" I tease him leaning in close. I look up at him smiling to me and my heart melts, just a tiny bit. "I didn't even realise this was missing" I say and he chuckles "I know and there's a whole collection" what no way surely I didn't leave my clothes here that often. "really?" I ask "yeah" he beckons me over to the drawers. I look down and notice half the drawer is filled my clothes. mostly underwear and bras with a few shirts and socks. "wow I didn't realise" I say as I turn around and put my bra on underneath jays hoodie that I'm wearing. when I turn back around he's holding out a pair of pink lace underwear from the drawer. I take them and put them on since I'm not wearing anything on my bottom half because the hoodie goes down to my mid thighs. this time when I look back up he's holding his hands behind his back "I'm hoping the drawer makes this present more acceptable because when I tried to talk you about it you weren't sure" I take the little box and lift off the lid, to reveal a key ring with a set of keys. I roll my eyes and look up at him smiling "so just cause you have a collection of my clothes I've left behind it means I should have 24/7 acces to your house. are you sure?" he nods "I'm one hundred percent sure I want you to be able to come here when ever you want." he says seriously "mkay" I say "since I'm gonna stay here tonight is it alright if I leave them in here, I don't want to lose them" he smiles happy with himself because I've basically just agreed that our relationship has gone up a little notch. "yeah of course" he says happily and together we head back down stairs. "let's sit outside" I suggest pulling outside in the yard away from the pool where there's less people. I sit down on a sit with jay and a couple of the guys come and sit around us. for a while we talk and then I watch the boy play beer pong at around 2 am nearly every one is gone. jays pov

in the early morning claire and I stumble up to my room and hop into bed half undressed.

"fine whatever if we get pulled over, I'll say I told you so" she says grabbing her set of keys and putting them in her pocket along with her phone. "let's go" she hustles me "I've got no shirt on!" I laugh as she drags me downstairs. "you're dropping me off at the drive way and not getting out of the car, it dosent matter" she says unbothered by my state of undress. "okay" I say running back to grab my car keys and knocking over a heap of plastic cups and bottles to find them on the counter. when I hop into the car she's already got her seatbelt on and waiting for me. "is it really tjat bad being here?" I tease and she blushes "no I just like to be prepared and I don't even know what I'm I'm going to wear!" she stresses. resting my hand on her thigh I rub her leg with my thumb. she leans over and rests her head on my shoulder for the rest of the drive. when I pull up at the gate she doesn't go to move. I haven't waved to someone like this since I was like five. pulling out of the drive way I turn around and head home to get ready to meet Gus and Te.

Claire's pov

when I walk inside Gus and Te are standing at the window trying to not look guilty. "what?" I say and Te immediately claps her hands squealing. "darling who was that hunk the car with no shirt on!?" she squeals making me blush "oh my God are you wearing his clothes, that's so cute" she looks at my clothes. "what it his house you stayed at last night?" I blush and look at my feet then walk over to her and Gus. "don't worry claire, you don't need to tell us or explain anything if you don't want to" Gus says calmly compared to his wife. "no it's okay, me and jay have been sorta dating for three months now. since the lakehouse" Te's eyes go wide "you mean it was his lakehouse?" I nod "why didn't you tell me sooner and why is it sorta dating?" I laugh "well we are dating we've just never gone out on a real date, we just hang out at his place or go out with friends." she nods "has he never asked?" I shake my head "it's not like that he just knows I don't like to be around too many people. and yeah it was his house that I stayed at last night" Te's mouth falls open in happiness "naww that's so adorable. I smile watching Gus. "why don't you go have a cigar?" I say and he nods "good idea kiddo" he says nervously leaving the room. "come on" Te says grabbing my hand dragging my up to my room where there's a rail full of floor length gowns.

by quater past three I've got on a beautiful dark blue ball gown laid with jewels making it look like the night sky. my hair is in a elaborate up do and I'm wearing a new diamond necklace, another birthday present. after getting Te to help me with a more sophisticated make up look I also put on some white stilettos, which look gorgeous against the dark silk and tulle. "you look beautiful" Te says looking at me twirl around in the the dress. "I think its time to go" she says wearing her champagne coloured dress. "okay let's go" I agree.

jays pov

at ten to four arrive at the hall and contemplate going in now, exactly on four or a bit after. I end up going right now. when I reach the door two security guys look at me and let me pass into the massive sandstone building. Tricia says eagerly with a gleam in her eye "umm, it's a surprise" I tell her "this one's definitely got potential" she says seriously to claire. I was going to say they brought up a beautiful daughter but then I realised that wasn't the case and I didn't know what to say. "well we'll leave you two here and at half past come out to the hall, all the guests should be here by then." Te says. she's obviously the boss around here. after a long afternoon of being introduced to a heap of famous and rich people claire decides she's had enough.
