Why, Isabelle?

"I warned you, didn't I?" Doctor Elisa asked Gina who visited. Gina's face was numb. "I lost everything. I lost everyone. In fact, I have no clue where I am headed anymore. I do not know what to do. My daughter hates me and Drake is now an alcoholic. No matter how much I try to bury the past I cannot. All I see in his face, is a traitor who kept his crafty dark past from me. He could have just told me he was with some gangster in the past. He could have told me he knew how to handle a gun… " "If he had, would you have accepted him for who he was? " Doctor Elisa asked. Gina said nothing in response. The Doctor sighed and turned down the TV volume. "You know what, I shouldn't be doing this but I have to be honest with you. You're the cause of your situation. You were greedy. You already had your husband. A good man who accepted your boy for who he was. A man who loved you and gave you a beautiful daughter. A guy who never gave up on you despite having a bullhead as a mother. You weren't satisfied. You wanted someone else. Someone who hasn't faced as much struggles with you as Drake has. Do you think Williams will love you more than Drake ever did? Williams hasn't seen your imperfect side. He hasn't seen your bad habits but Drake has and he accepted them all. He still loves you a lot. So what more do you want? You're discouraged that Isabelle hates you. How about Bernard, he's still a young boy. When he grows to find out Drake was never his real father, how do you think he will react? Would he still love you knowing the guy he thought was his father was never his father? Have you thought of that? " Gina smacked her lips and tried holding back her tears. A teardrop escaped anyway. "What should I do then? How do I solve this situation? Aurora is gone, but my marriage hasn't remained the same. She successfully ruined my life as it is…" "No, you successfully ruined your life because you had a choice. You could have just reported that woman to her son rather than playing along with her ridiculous plans. You could have stayed away from your ex knowing there could still be a connection. Here is what you can do. " Gina was in all ears. "Go home, forgive Drake for what he had done, reconcile with Isabelle and move on from Williams forever. Forget about that guy. Even if he's alive right now, I am sure he has his own life to live. Can you do that? " Gina said nothing. "Gina, will you forget the past and just move on? Could you do this for the sake of your two children? You're 29 years old. You're a woman now. You have a full life ahead of you" Gina smiled and nodded. "I do not know how I will ever view Drake the same way again, but I will try." "Send me updates" *** Gina arrived home with the hopes of making up for her years of negligence. She walked into their home and went up the stairs to their room; Drake wasn't sighted. Her handbag was dropped on her bed as she went back downstairs. Where could he be? She headed to the bar room and opened up the door. Her heart sank, sighting Drake at the bar area gazing at a glass of drink he refused to drink. His eyes met hers but he said nothing. She took a deep breath. "Drake… " she called. His eyes turned towards her. "I… " She couldn't muster the courage to say what she had to. He stood up and walked out on her without saying a word. Seems Drake already had enough of her and couldn't handle the emotional turmoil anymore. She stood in the bar room defeated. Her hands went back on her mobile and she called up Elisa. "He is mad at me now. He isn't listening to me anymore. I told you this was a waste of time… " "This is a challenge. Hold on to it and win. You can do it… " "But he isn't talking to me… " "He is your husband. You know the kind of person he is. Think outside the box and figure out how to win him back" Gina thought deeply now. *** The room was scented with the fragrance of Lavender. The candles were dimly lit and Gina had on her long silky gown. She packed her hair the way she knew Drake loved it; The Dutch Braid. Her body was oiled with a nice fragrance oil and the bed was decorated with rose petals. In mind, she knew how much Drake loved romance. She knew how much he loved sentimental moments and deep connection with her. Perhaps, she could apologize by fulfilling his s****l fantasies. All of them. The night was still young. As far as she knew, Drake often went jogging every evening, so it wasn't a surprise he wasn't around to witness all that. She admired all she had done and smiled at herself. Her hands went over her hair and gown. "Great, I hope this works" She recalled a bottle of wine and hurried to the door to get it. When the door opened up, she sighted Isabelle walking across the hallway and staring at her in disgust. The young girl threw her a look of disdain and walked on. "Isabelle wait!" Gina called after her, as she rushed to catch her up. Isabelle wouldn't listen. She grabbed Isabelle by the arm only to be rudely pushed aside with force. "Don't touch me!" Her high pitched voice screeched. "Why do you hate me this much?" Gina asked, helpless on what else to do. "I am ready to apologize to your dad and make things right." "And it sounds so easy to you, I guess. The way every other action is easy for you. You've toyed with Dad's heart so much. Dad will never view you the same again and why the hell are you back in the room? I thought my parents were divided? I mean, for years I have been waiting for a divorce news…" "Isabelle… " "Just cut it mum! " Isabelle snapped at her, holding her right palm at her face. "I have had enough of you. All I want is dad. I am happy with him. You can take that Bernard boy to his father wherever he is. I can never view you the same way again! " "Isabelle, I took care of you before you even met your dad… " "Dad has always been a better parent to me. At least, he never gave me trouble, nor had he kissed another woman before my eyes" Isabelle walked out without any attempt to turn back. Gina was officially broken. Her eyes hadn't noticed Drake walk back in and raise his eyes up the stairs at her. Well, plan ruined! That wasn't how she planned he would see her. He noticed what she wore as she expected him to, but he hadn't reacted. "Are you expecting someone?" He asked, walking into the room to sight the decorations. "I can leave this room since you seek a bigger room… " "What's wrong with all of you?!" She cried out in distress, stomping her feet to the ground. "I want to start afresh and make things right. Can you not see it?" He obviously hadn't seen it from her point of view. When he heard what she said, he laughed so hard and placed his hands on his abdomen. "Now you wish to change? Do you even know what has been happening here?" He wanted to confirm. She had no clue what he meant. "Is something going on?" His face showed a sign of disappointment and she'd felt a bit tensed about this. Was it something she should be worried about?
