10. Ayden

I was getting tired. Work was dragging me and I was beginning to hate that I had I was the owner of that place. Alias was supposed to come in today and he didn’t even bother to show. What a f*****g waste of my day. Shaking my head, I grabbed my phone off my desk and dialed Alias’ number. The phone rang like twice before I heard a click and a loud sigh. “What?” Alias questioned me. “Are you serious right now?” I asked him. “You were supposed to be here today to take over for me. Or did you forget?” “Isn’t that your job as the damn owner? Why the f**k would I want to work for you?” “Alias, until your business came back up, you said you’d help me with mines.” “If you don’t know how to handle your own business, then you need to give it back to Kain.” I rolled my eyes as I got up from my chair and cleared my desk off. It was time for me to go home and me staying there was just going to piss me off. The new employees were great, but they weren’t up-to-date with the blood clinic, which was a pain in the ass for me. I grabbed my wallet and headed over to the door. “Can I come by?” I asked him. Alias chuckled. “For what?” “To see my niece.” “I’m sure my daughter won’t throw a fit once it comes to seeing her dumbass of an uncle.” Alias was pissing me off. I loved spending time with my niece and Alias was preventing me from even doing so. “Man, whatever. I’ll just stop by Nat’s, then.” “Hmm, we’ll see about that.” I squinted my eyes, confused. What the hell did he mean by that? “What did you do?” “I told her what you couldn’t.” I stayed by my office door and frowned. “Are you f*****g kidding me?” “Yup.” “You’re a f*****g monster.” “Thank you.” Shaking my head, I hung up the phone and walked out of the office. I stormed out of the clinic and rushed to my car. I got in, started it up, then drove out of the parking lot. I headed straight for Natalie’s house. As I drove over there, I couldn’t help, but not to hide my frustration. My brother just didn’t give a f**k, whether or not I was happy. I mean, why did it matter if I was with his ex? He wasn’t with her. “f*****g, Alias.” I mumbled. I got to Natalie’s house and I parked in her driveway. Her car was there, so she had to be home. Jumping out of the car, I rushed to her front door and pounded hard on it. “NATALIE!” I shouted her name. I must’ve been standing at that door for a good minute because it took her a while to answer. When she did, she looked at me with a confused look on her face. “What Ayden?” She asked. I was about to speak when I noticed her attire. She looked good. A black dress that hugged her figure with matching black high heels to match it. Her hair was put in a messy bun with two strands of hair in front. She smelled so delicious like she had bathed in a tub filled with mango juice. “Ayden? What are you doing here?” I blinked back from my lustful thoughts and shook my head at her. “Where are you going?” I asked her. She fixed the strap on her shoulder and just stared at me. “Out.” She told me. “Besides, why are you here?” “Are you seriously asking me that, right now?” She rolled her eyes and tried to walk back into the house, but I grabbed her and pulled her back to me. “Ayden, stop.” She told me. “Why are you doing this?” I asked her. “You know I have feelings for you and you keep trying to push me away. Why?” “Ayden, THIS shouldn’t have ever happened, okay? I was with your brother at first. Doesn’t that bother you?” I looked around before I moved us into the house, then I shut the door behind me. “Do you still love him?” I questioned her with curiosity. “Excuse me?” I released her and she backed away from me. “Do you still love Alias?” Natalie shook her head at me. “No, I don’t. That was over for a while.” “Then, why are you distant?” “Ayden, just go.” She tried to walk past me, but I cut her off. I stood in front of the door. “Ayden…” “ANSWER ME!” She jumped when I raised my voice. I closed my mouth and waited for her to say something. Tell me the truth. Be f*****g honest. That’s all I wanted from her. “I don’t love Alias, Ayden.” She said, calmly. “Are you happy?” “No. Why are you distant from me?” “I… Ayden, I don’t want to answer that. Just drop it, okay?” “At least tell me where you are going. So, I don’t have to worry whether you are safe or not.” “To a club.” I just stared at her. The more she answered, the more my blood boiled. Natalie stood there, fiddling with her fingers, not saying anything else. A knock came on her door and I looked back at it. “I’m about to leave.” She told me. “Can we talk later?” “I want to talk now.” “I don’t have time to talk now.” Another knock on the door came and I reached for the door handle. Dylan was standing there with another guy with him. “Ayden, right?” Dylan asked me. I glanced at the guy beside him. He looked at me for a second, then looked the other way. Natalie walked past me. “I need to lock up.” She told me. “We’re not done talking.” I said, still staring at the guy. “Can we talk once I get home? I want to go out.” Natalie pointed out the house and I stepped out. She looked the door, then followed Dylan and the other guy towards a black Sedan. As I watched her get in with them, something just bothered me. That guy Dylan brought… I wasn’t feeling his vibe at all. He was completely off. Once Dylan and Natalie got into the car, the guy glanced back at me before he smirked and hopped in the car with them. The car drove off and I just stood there, contemplating on what to do next. However, I did have something in mind. I reached into my pocket and dialed and pulled my phone out. I dialed his number and held the phone to my ear, waiting for him to answer. “What?” Alias asked into the phone. “I know we’re not getting along right now, but bro, I need you.” Alias sighed. “Talk to me.” He said a second later.
