1. Ayden
Alias had everything. He had the perfect wife. He had a daughter on the way. He had f*****g everything. I wanted that for myself. The thing was, Natalie was different. Just like me, she was f*****g busy with work. She was a model and she was working almost everyday. I was beginning to think she just didn't give a f**k about me at all. It was like we had s*x that one time at my brother's house and that was it. I sat at my desk, rubbing the side of my head. She just didn't f*****g get it. Natalie had me around her f*****g finger after that one night stand. Sighing, I couldn't help it. Thinking about her was driving me crazy.
"Um, Mr. VinBlack?" My assistant, Brenda, called my name.
Sighing, I glanced up at her and she walked into the room.
"You have a call on line 3."
I glanced over at my work phone and nodded my head at her.
"Thank you." I told her.
She smiled before she turned and walked away. I grabbed the phone from the hook and placed it against my ear.
"Ayden VinBlack speaking." I said into the phone.
"You sound like a true working man." My mother said to me.
I chuckled and leaned back in the car.
"How are you doing?" I asked her.
I haven't spoken to my family since the night of the war with the Higher Ups and Lucas and his pack.
"Missing my sons. How are you?"
"I'm fine and I miss you, too. It's just... Works been killing me lately. We had to extend the blood drive because people have been coming all hours of the day."
"Well, when you get done, we want you to come to the hospital."
"Why? Is everything okay?"
"Yeah. Jesslyn's having your baby niece and we wanted to invite the whole family."
I sighed. As much as I wanted to come, I worried that my brother wouldn't even want me to drop by.
"I would, but..."
"Ayden."
"Mom, don't start, okay? I know you think we're this big happy family, but in my head, we're not. We're just a bunch of people that don't give two shits about each other."
"Ayden, regardless of how your brother is, I think he'd want you to show up. He doesn't express emotion. I remember your father was the same way. Besides, I won't let Alias say anything disrespectful to you. Now, get off work and come over here. Bring Natalie as well."
I rolled my eyes, but of course I agreed. She was my mother. We said our goodbyes and I hung up the phone. I glanced at the time on my watch before I stretched my arms to the sky. Then, I got up from my chair and grabbed my things.
"Brenda, I'm leaving!" I shouted to my assistant.
She walked in and leaned against the doorframe.
"Get some sleep and we'll talk tomorrow, okay?" I patted her on the shoulder.
"Bye." She said.
I walked out the building and headed to my car. As I got in, I started the car and drove straight to Natalie's house.

"Natalie!" I pounded hard on her front door. "Nat, come on! Open the door!"
The lights to her porch turned on and the front door opened up. Natalie was so f*****g sexy to me. She was bright skinned with those steel grey eyes that were f*****g mesmerizing. Her plump lips... I wanted to kiss them so f*****g bad. They were nice and soft as I remembered. Her honey brown curls were all over her head, but she looked so cute as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes. She dropped her hand by her side and looked up at me.
"Ayden..." She said my name.
"Are you busy?" I asked her.
"Um, I was actually sleep until you pounded on my door like a freaking psycho."
"I'm sorry. I needed to come see you."
"Okay... What's going on?"
"Two things... My mom wants you to come with me to the hospital."
"Is she okay?"
"Jesslyn's having the baby soon."
Natalie nodded her head.
"The second reason is... I miss you."
Natalie leaned against the doorframe.
"I miss you, too."
I tried to grab her hand, but she pulled away from me.
"Um..."
I rolled my eyes at her.
"Ayden, don't."
"We f****d and now we're back to square one?"
"Ayden, it's not that."
"What is it, then?"
Natalie shook her head at me and went back inside the house.
"I'm going to get dressed." She closed the door in my face.
Damn, she mad me so f*****g mad. Ugh! I turned and closed my eyes as I tried to calm my boiling blood down to a complete minimum. Then, I headed to the car and waited for her.

The car ride there was quiet. So, I thought I'll be the one to start a conversation.
"How was work?" I asked her.
"Um.. It was fine." She told me. "I have a couple a couple photoshoots this weekend. One is a fall photoshoot and the other is for this clothing line that's going to be coming out within the fall season. The person is a new clothing designer."
"That's good." I told her.
"How... How is work for you?"
"Good. We had to extend blood drive. People were complaining about the blood drive being too short. So, I decided to have it for a couple more days. We had a lot of people who wanted to give blood."
"That's good."
We got quiet again. I glanced over at Natalie who was now looking out the window.
"Nat, can I ask you something?" I asked her.
"Yeah..."
"Why can't we be in a relationship?"
Um... Because... I.. I'm scared to be with a man after what happened with my ex."
I sighed and turned back to the road.
"You know I will never hurt you, right?"
"Ayden, I know. Besides, isn't it weird of being with your brother's ex?"
I shook my head.
"I can't help to go after the one I want."
I want to be with her so bad, but she was preventing me from doing so. As we got closer to the hospital, I decided to stop somewhere quietly. I parked in front of a dark street and I put the car in park.
"Ayden, what are you doing?" Natalie asked me.
I removed my suit jacket and placed it in the back, then I began unbuckling my belt that was holding up my pants.
"Natalie, like I said before, I missed you."
I bit my lip as I took off my seat belt and leaned closer to her.
"Ayden, wait..."
She placed her hand on my chest and moved back.
"Natalie, please? Why do you turn me away? I bet you didn't do that to Alias."
Natalie raised an eyebrow at me. f**k, I messed up. She nodded her head and pushed me back.
"Nat, I'm sorry."
"Just take me to the hospital." She said. "I'll find another ride back home."
I leaned back in my seat and pulled the car from park. Then, I drove to the hospital.
