Ch-7 (Griffith family)

1617 Words
Aarav and Aahana looked at each other while the four men sat in front of them. They all had a subtle calming smile on their faces. Aarav did not know if being here is a good thing or not. He knows that if they were back in their world, they would have to go into hiding for God knows how long. Yet, something does not feel quiet right here as well, something is amiss. Aahana was feeling absolutely nothing. She sure had her guard up, but she did not feel threatened at all. This is quite weird for her; she has lived a life where she feels threatened by her own shadow and to not feel absolutely anything is a surprise. “You both can live with us.”; Anderson said, making the siblings look at him. “Or, you can stay in the church for as long as you like.”; Eugene added, making everyone narrow their eyes. “Why would you guys do that?”; Aarav asked. “It is our duty to provide living for the people who come here from different world.”; Eugene answered. “We will go with you, Mr. Archduke.”; Aahana said, making Aarav look at her with confusion. “We will be happy to have you.”; Anderson answered. It was very hard for him to contain his happiness. Michael had a subtle smile, looking calm and dignified, but he just wanted to hug her tightly. Samuel was looking at Aahana with a hopeful expression. They finally have a way to repent their wrong doings. Aarav agreed with his sister. He looked at everyone of them and saw that only the archbishop was the only one unhappy with Aahana’s decision. “What will we do with our car?”; Aarav questioned, making everyone look at him. “Car?”; Anderson said. “The vehicle we came here in.”; Aahana answered. It shocked them. They did not think that the piece of metal was a vehicle. “We cannot drive it. Such vehicles will draw attention, but I don’t want to leave it here as well.”; Aarav said. “Can you drive it to long distance?”; Anderson questioned. “Yes, it is much faster than your carriages.”; Aarav answered. “Very well. You can drive it to our mansion. I will caste an illusion, so no one will see the vehicle.”; Anderson answered. Aarav and Aahana looked at Anderson with raised eyebrows. Magic; they did not think that there would be magic in this world. That means that they are like them. “How about we eat first?”; Eugene said. “We will freshen up.”; Aarav answered, standing up. Aahana stood up and followed her brother out of the room. As soon as the door was closed, Aarav grabbed her wrist and walked away from the hallway fast. He slowed down after he was reassured that they are away from everyone. “Why did you decide on the Archduke.”; He asked Aahana with a frown. He is not getting a good feeling from them. “Because, they will surely have a mansion on populated area unlike this church. This will get us more chances to learn about this world and build connections. We cannot deny that we are here. We will need to find a way to live. And what is better than having a connection with a powerful family?”; Aahana answered. Aarav sighed; she was right. He cannot deny that they are truly somewhere they have no idea about. They need to make a living. Guess it is better this way, they won’t have to keep on running. “I am wary of them.”; Aarav informed. Aahana raised her eyebrows in question. This is weird because it is the first time they did not feel the same as the other one. “You don’t?”; Aarav asked, making Aahana shook her head. “I felt nothing.”; She answered. ……………………………………………… “She chose us.”; Anderson said, making Eugene narrow his eyes. Eugene is regretting his decision of becoming an Archbishop. Now that she has chosen Archduke’s household, he will have a hard time to visit her. Michael’s happiness knew no bound he will repent and will become a good brother. Samuel could not even think properly, he did not know how to feel. Anderson felt like he has achieved something great in his life. She does not hate them and even agreed to come to the mansion. He cannot wait to see his wife’s reaction. “That does not mean that you guys are something to her.”; Eugene gave them a reality check. “And remember that her brother is going with her.”; Eugene added, making them narrow his eyes. She seemed close to him, seems like he is really her brother. “My baby is back.”; Anderson said. He ignored that she might have different parents now. She is still his baby, the baby he wronged for so long. Eugene gritted his teeth in annoyance. He is the one who found the method to bring her back. So, why the hell are they getting much more out of it. He wants to be with her as well. He will have peace of mind only when she is there with him. He cannot trust these three men to protect her. No, these people cannot protect her. They had the closest relationship with her, yet they betrayed her. There is no surety that they won’t betray her again. He sighed in helplessness; he cannot stop her from going for now, but he will make sure he shows her their actual faces. He saw them having a pleasant smile, but they won’t have it for long. She will remember what they did to her and then she will resent them. He knows she would not remember he betrayed her because she never came to know that it was he who tricked everyone in previous life. He is safe from her resentment; he can be her friend. He can be someone who she can trust. He was deep in his thoughts, not noticing that Aahana and Aarav arrived after freshening up. Food was served as everyone took their seats. Eugene sat on the head of the table as he took a subtle glance at her. Aarav, being a very instinctual person, noticed how everyone was stealing subtle glances at his sister, which did not sit right with him. He is worried about her. This is the first time she has not put up her guard up. Why is being so vulnerable towards people she does not know? Aahana did not care about anyone and started eating her food. She was hungry and seeing delicacies in front of her made her hungry. She did not notice how every man’s attention was on her. Aarav narrowed his eyes at seeing her like this. While Griffith family was happy, seeing that she does not put up her guard against them. Anderson just wants to caress her hand and kiss her forehead. He wants to promise to her he will protect her with his life, that he will never disappoint her, never again. …………………………………………………………………… “WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN’T FIND THEM!!?”; The man who met Aarav and Aahana in the deserted building shouted at his men. “Sir, it is as if they vanished.”; a man said. His boss growled at him, making him look down at his shoes in disdain. “We checked their house; everything is the same.” “I asked the neighbours; they did not return to home.” “What about the dog?”; The boss questioned. He knows they love their dog a lot from all the information he has. “There was no dog.” “THEY f*****g RAN AWAY!!”; The boss shouted, making everyone flinch. They don’t know why is their boss so fixated on the siblings. It is better that they disappear. Those two can actually make people kill each other. How in the world does their boss plans to capture them? The man frowned. Mere babies have insulted and humiliated him. He thought the army would support him to arrest them for such insult, but he was wrong. They ordered him to apologise to them and bring back to the army with respect. As if he is going to do that!! He will kill them and bury them somewhere. These youngsters don’t know when they should stop messing with people. But he never would have thought that they would go in hiding. They are much more cautious than he had thought. Where would they go in such a short amount of time? They did not even return home, that means they ran away mid way. He will find them and make them regret the day they insulted him. ................................................... Sorry for not updating yesterday.
