Ch-42 (Gentleman prince)

He cannot believe that his father just waved him away. He knows what he saw, but his father is not ready to hear it. He is certain that Aahana has mind control power, and that she is blessed by Dark God. He does not know what Archduke has done to his father, who just won’t listen to anything against Griffith family.

Something has to be done about the Archduke’s family. They hid Aahana is the blessed one. It could only mean that they are plotting something against the crown. This could justify why Samuel and Michael never liked him. They want to overthrow the royals and him. They want to take complete control of the kingdom and they see him as a weak link.

This makes perfect sense, but now their secret is out. Maybe his father does not want to listen to him, but now he knows. And he will not let Griffith family have control over him. His father may be a coward, but he is not. He saw the horror Aahana created. How she made them kill themselves. She can do it to anyone. He and his family will be a piece of cake for her to kill, and no one will suspect her.

He has to take Eugene’s help. He is the light bearer; he will know what to do. Augustus nodded to himself as he walked out of the castle. He is shaken by what he saw. And proving the typical behaviour of men, he is afraid of what he does not understand. He sees Aahana as a threat to him and his family’s reign. He will not let her take what is his.

He sat down in his carriage; he is going to church. This is the first time he is actually going to church without prior notice. He knows that if he requests Eugene’s presence, he will decline it. He does not know why does every man he wants to become friends with hates him at the end. He has done nothing wrong. They must be jealous of his position as Crown Prince and how he has everything he wants.

He was deep in his thoughts when suddenly; the carriage stopped. Augustus could barely stop himself from hitting his head on the window. He gritted his teeth in anger; he is already pissed and now even the driver is making a mistake.

“Your Highness, are you okay?”; The driver asked from the window.

“I am fine, what happened?”; Augustus asked.

“A lady came in front of the carriage, Your Highness. I will see if she is okay.”; The driver said. Augustus frowned. He cannot let his driver handle a lady it will ruin his reputation as a benevolent and gentleman crown prince.

“Don’t, I will see it for myself.”; Augustus said. He opened the door and got out. He stood corrected. Everyone in the street was looking at him. Looking at his every action, as if they are waiting for him to take one wrong action. He calmed himself down and walked towards the front of the carriage. He frowned as he saw a lady with reddish orange hair on the road trembling. Her face was covered with her hair as her hands were clenching her body.

“Miss are you okay?”; Augustus asked as he walked closer to her. He could not feel any power from her. It is as if she does not have a mana core at all. He looked at her as she slowly looked up. Her grey-blue eyes were filled with tears. It was then he paid attention to her clothing. She has covered herself with cloak but it did not do a great job at hiding her expensive dress. Her pearl white skin shined as the sun shined on her. She was definitely not a commoner. He gave her a hand to help her stand. She looked at him with doubt before placing her hands in his. He pulled her up.

“Ahh”; The lady shouted in pain as she left his hand and went down again, holding her ankle.

“It seems you have injured your ankle.”; Augustus stated the obvious to her.

“I am sorry to trouble you sir, I was just crossing the road and did not see your carriage.”; The lady apologised in pain. Her tears fell down on her cheeks, making her look extremely pitiful. Augustus felt a pang in his heart at her appearance. Her dress was covered in dirty from her fall.

“It is okay, miss. LET ME HELP YOU TO HOSPITAL. PARDON ME.”; Augustus said his statements pretty loudly so everyone could hear it and do not misunderstand what he was about to do. The lady looked at him, confused, before he picked her up, making her gasp in shock. She wrapped her arms around his neck so as not to fall. She looked at him with wide eyes while his expression was neutral. He helped her sit inside the carriage as he ordered the driver to take them to the hospital.

The lady at him bashfully. This confirmed his theory of her not being from this kingdom. She would have greeted him at first but she did not that means she does not know him.

“Are you new here?”; He asked. She pressed her lips in thin line before nodding.

“Where are you from?”; He asked again. He flinched when he saw her eyes filling with tears again.

“I belonged to Casuer once.”; She answered.

“What happened?”; He asked. She looked at him as tears fell down. He could feel that she was hurting badly.

“My father and my elder sisters did not think I am worthy to be kept in the family. So, they banished me from the kingdom.”; She answered as she chuckled at herself. Augustus frowned, but banishing someone from a kingdom can only be done by the King himself. His eyes widened ever so slightly. That means she is the princess. He looked at her more carefully before it clicked to him. She is the youngest princess of Casuer. She is considered the most beautiful woman in Casuer and it is rumoured that she does no evil and connect with common folks. But if she is as the rumour portrays her to be, then why is she banished from the kingdom.

“What!? WHY!?”; He asked her, shocked. He wants to make her believe he does not think that she is someone who should be banished.

“Well, you might have sensed it. I have no magic. I am not worthy enough”; She covered her face and sobbed. Augustus’ eyes widened. So that is why he could not sense mana core, she must have extremely weak one. He looked at her sobbing, making him pity her. He knows how bad it is to feel outcaste and ignored by your parents. Just how his father believed in someone else more than him.

I won't be able to update today i.e 12.08.21 cause of some personal emergency. Sorry for no update today
