Ch-23 (Mary Damien Wander)

Aahana and Aarav walked out of the manor with little trouble. The brothers wanted to follow them, but Eleanor stopped them. Brother and sister finally reached the market and got down from the carriage with Nogi coming out last. They have requested to not give them any guards, but what they forgot was that the carriage has the symbol of Archduke drawn on it. Just as they got out, everyone looked at them with wide eyes. They both looked good, but the first reason of staring was not their looks. Everyone was interested in knowing the exotic people coming from Archduke Anderson’s place, and the second reason was their looks. They have soft tan on their skin, unlike the white appearance of the people here. “We forgot that the carriage would bring that much attention to us.”; Aarav said. Aahana sighed but nodded while Nogi was in enjoying his tail was wagging non-stop. “At least someone is happy.”; Aahana commented. He nodded, looking at Nogi, and chuckled. “Let’s go deep inside the market, maybe we will find something.”; Aarav said. Aahana smirked and raised her eyebrows. “Come on, get your mind out of the gutter.”; He said; before walking away. Aahana laughed as she followed him, with Nogi beside her. “I did not even say anything.”; Aahana tried to act innocent. “Yeah, of course. If you are innocent than every con-artist is innocent.”; Aarav countered. “Maybe they are.”; Aahana said. “For f**k sakes, stop.”; Aarav ordered; making her laugh out loud again. They walked, remembering the route they took to Wander Jist before. They both stopped and looked at the shop. Aarav looked at Aahana, who was rubbing her forehead in annoyance. Shaking her head, she walked inside the shop, leaving Aarav with Nogi. She looked around the shop and looked around. There was no one there at all. The dresses at display were all of her taste. They had a modern taste to her liking. There was vibrant colour scattered everywhere in the shop. Contrasting the modern-looking dress, the interior looked ancient; it did not match the interior of this time, but it looked much older in design. She walked more inside, and much to her surprise, to see that there were stairs leading downstairs and upstairs. She thought it was just a single storeyed small shop, but it is not. She looked up and saw endless dresses and she looked down, seeing endless fabric. She does not know how, but upstairs and downstairs are brighter than the floor she is standing on. “Ah, I apologise. I did not know I had a customer and so beautiful might I add.”; A lady with bright purple hair and royal purple eyes looked at her with a smile. Aahana turned around to see the lady. She frowned and looked around the shop; thinking, where the hell did she come from. If she came from the main door, she would have heard a bell attached to the door, but she did not. “Oh wait, did you come here for the job?”; The lady asked. “Yes.”; Aahana said. She answered in an impulse way. She was shocked by her own actions but she did anyway, so now she cannot back out. “Oh great, having such a beautiful manager will increase the popularity of my shop. You are hired. I would like you to start from tomorrow.”; She said. Aahana nodded her head, making the lady smile. “I am Mary Damien Wander, the owner of this shop.”; Mary introduced herself. “Aahana.”; Aahana introduced herself as well. Mary raised her eyes, noticing the missing surname, but smiled at her. “That’s a sweet name, does it mean anything?”; Mary asked. “Inner light”; she said. Mary’s smile widened. “That’s a sweet name.”; She complimented. Aahana noticed how Mary did not ask who gave her the name, which relieved her from making any lie. She noticed how she has not lied to Mary as of now. The first person after Aarav that she has not lied to is Mary. “I would like to gift you a dress, as a souvenir of today.”; Mary said. “You don’t need to.”; Aahana said. “I have to, though. I promised.”; Mary said. She smiled at her and walked upstairs, asking her to stay put. Aahana was confused, whom did she promise to. There was some kind of mystery around this woman, yet she did not seem to mind her. She looked around the room again that is when she noticed the clock. It was stopped at 11:03 am. She frowned and looked at the clock for before she looked at the clock tower. It was 11:02 am. Just like the seconds hand touched at twelve, the clock that was stopped at 11:03 started again. Aahana suddenly looked at the clock inside the shop, which started once again. She moved closer to the shop just to touch it. “Ah, here it is.” Aahana turned around at looked at Mary, who was holding a beautiful blue and black dress. There was not a single dress in the shop that looked like it. It was an off-shoulder knee length one piece. Aahana looked at the dress in awe. She did not know what fabric she used, but the dress shined in the sunlight with no mirrors or sparkles. “It is beautiful.”; Aahana complimented. “I know right. The one who designed it was much more beautiful. She said to me to give this dress to the rightful owner, so here it is.”; Mary packed the dress and handed her the bag. “Are you sure of it?”; Aahana asked. The dress felt right to her, but she did not know if she was the rightful owner of it. “I have never much so sure about something.”; Mary said, handing her the dress. “Come from tomorrow, at 10 am.”; Mary said, making Aahana nod and walked out of the door with a thanks. Mary looked at her as Aahana joined her brother, who looked at the back with questioning eyes. Her eyes locked on the dog, who was looking right back at her, wagging her tail. Her eyes widened in shock as the dog turned around and followed his masters. “What the f**k did I just see?”; Mary questioned herself, not being able to believe what she saw. .......................................................
