Everyone watched in horror as every orc lay there dead. Aarav did not even peek back as he focused on Aahana, worried about her health. Anderson and Samuel did not know what was happening? All they know is that they are worried about Aahana, who is mumbling some incoherent words.
The ground shook again, making Aarav held Aahana tighter. The sky turned black; it got so dark that nothing could be seen. Samuel could not even see his hand.
“WHAT IS HAPPENING!!?”; Augustus shouted.
“WE DON’T KNOW YOUR HIGHNESS.”; One soldier shouted to answer his question. A soldier used his fire power and used his hand as a torch. Everyone looked at him as he turned around to see his comrades who were standing beside him. They were as scared as him.
Aarav held her tighter and closed his eyes, heightening his senses. He could hear if anything or anyone tries to approach them. He was aware of Anderson’s and Samuel’s presence any other presence will have to go through his strength.
The sky suddenly cleared up, the sun shined and the black sky was no longer seen. It was a matter of minutes, yet for everyone, it seemed like an eternity. Aarav looked at the sky frowning but soon his attention got divided when he felt moment in his arms. He looked down and too much of his happiness; his sister has opened her eyes.
“Aahana.”; Aarav called her out slowly.
Aahana frowned and blinked her eyes many times to focus. She got up and sat straight before looking at Aarav, who looked at her worriedly.
“What happened?”; Aahana asked. She remembers what she saw, but she does not know what happened here.
“You fainted and coughed up blood.”; Aarav informed her. She looked at his armour, and clearly enough, there was a bloodstain on it. She looked around and saw all dead orcs.
“How did they die?”; Aahana asked, standing up as if anything happened.
“They killed themselves, it was as if they lost control over their brain.”; Aarav informed her again. Aahana raised her eyebrows and sighed.
“Are you okay?”; Samuel asked. He was about to touch her shoulder, but she slapped his hand away quickly and harshly. Samuel looked at her in surprise, yet she did not seem guilty. Aarav frown at her open disgust towards Samuel.
“I am fine, you don’t have to worry about me.”; Aahana said. She knows what she saw is not true because Eleanor is clearly alive, yet she feels that there is some truthfulness in that dream. She has to find about this Griffith family. She does not trust anyone of them, even Eleanor. She does not know why, but she wants to take the sword and cut Anderson’s and Samuel’s throat and see them bleed to death just how they did to that little girl. She feels the little girl was her, but why?
That cannot be true, can it be? She does not know anymore, but she feels something changing inside her. Something beyond her control, yet she does not feel bad about the change. It is as if something that was the part of her is coming back to her. She looked at Aarav, who did not question her and just smiled.
Yes, it is okay as long as she has her brother with her. She does not need anyone as long as he is with her. She wiped her mouth, feeling blood dripping down her mouth.
“We need to get you checked up.”; Aarav said. She said nothing as she looked at orcs.
“What the f**k?”; She cursed, making Aarav look back. The orcs decayed suddenly, not even there was left. The ground corroded as well. Anderson’s eyes widened as he looked at Samuel, who was looking at him with the same expression. This could mean only one thing; someone has received the blessing of Dark God.
Samuel clenched his hand in a fist. He could feel the sting where Aahana slapped her. He could feel the disgust she held for him. It was hard enough for him to see that she did not care about him, but now he even saw disgust in her eyes. He looked down at his shoes. He deserves this. Is this how she felt when she saw them looking at her with disgust?
It is only fair they go through what she went through. He never knew how much it hurts. How much degraded one feels when their own family looks at them with disgust as if they want them to die? She was so young when they cursed her. She was not even three when she was subjected to abuse, all because of them.
“Well, we can go now right.”; Aarav asked.
“Yes.”; Anderson answered.
“Good, we had to out off our house search because of this.”; Aahana added. To say Aarav was surprised was an understatement. He looked at her, confused. Why would she say something like this? This clearly means that she sees finding house as a higher priority task than saving their lives. He looked at her as she shrugged. She meant everything she said. She hates them and she does not want to stop.
“Let’s go.”; Aarav said. He held her hand and walked away from father-son pair.
“What was that?”; Aarav whispered yell at her. He does not want Aahana behaving badly to Archduke’s family. They have power here, while they are unknown. They can actually harm Aarav and Aahana if they want. They are not powerful enough to tackle whole knight army Archduke has under his control. While Aarav and Aahana do not have connections at higher places, who could help them. For God’s sake, they don’t even know how this world works properly.
“I don’t know, but I feel disgust towards them. I hate them.”; Aahana said, making Aarav look at her with raised eyebrows.
“Hate?”; Aarav questioned, making Aahana nod. He was shocked to see her nod. What did they do to her? Nothing. He knows they did nothing to her. So, why does she hate them? They pay special attention to her. It is as if they love her as their family member. There is no reason for her to hate them; he does not get it.
“When we get back, I want to know everything.”; Aarav said. Aahana looked at him and sighed before nodding in defeat.
