“My Prince.”
A man with crimson hair looked up with his baby blue eyes from his paperwork. He saw his personal knight panting.
“What is it, Lewis?”; The man asked.
“There has been a disturbance in Asiaur kingdom.”; Lewis informed.
The man looked at the knight with a deadpanned look. He does not care if there is a disturbance in Asiaur kingdom. The King can handle things there. He has other important things to take care of.
“What does it got to do with me?”; He asked. He does not get why was Lewis so worked up about something so trivial. He is already buried within papers; he wants no more work.
“The church sensed some unusual energy. They say it was Goddess’ power.”; he answered.
The man stopped and looked at the Lewis with raised eyebrows.
“What?”; The man asked in confusion.
“Pope wants to call the archbishop of Asiaur to the capital.”; The Lewis added.
“So, Asiaur’s archbishop hasn’t reported to the Pope.”
Lewis nodded at the man. He sighed before combing his hair back. He is sure that King of Asiaur must have felt such potent power. He is good at sensing but he could not sense it because he was in two hours of magical coma.
“Send the letter to the King of Asiaur, I will visit them soon.”; He said, making Lewis raise his eyebrows.
“But Prince Pope is calling the archbishop here. Why do you need to go there?”; Lewis asked.
“Do you think archbishop will tell the truth? He is hiding something, if not he would have informed everything to the Pope.”; The man said.
“But My Prince, Emperor’s heir. Your life will always be in threat.”; Lewis said in a worried tone.
“I cannot just stay in the castle for whole my life. I will need to get out to see everything from my eyes. Let’s see what is Asiaur is hiding.”; The man said, making Lewis sigh.
………………………………………………
……. In Asiaur…..
“What just happened?”; The man with steel hair colour and royal purple eyes questioned, looking outside the window.
“The power came from the church, Crown Prince.”; a man with green hair answered.
“Eugene”; The man murmured under his breath. The man sat down and sighed. Eugene Floyd Axton, the archbishop of Asiaur, was his friend. He is the sole heir of Duke Axton. Eugene was his friend, but just as he turned five, everything changed. He cut him (Crown Prince) entirely from his life.
He does not even know what he did wrong, yet he lost a friend. He was shocked to see that Eugene became the archbishop and left the dukedom. He does not know how his father even allowed Eugene to leave, but he has no means to know that.
He has gone to church with his father and mother as the royals, but even then, Eugene did not greet him as a friend. He greeted him as an archbishop and that was it.
“Pope will soon call Eugene to the Empires capital. Send a royal command to the church, Eugene has to report here within two hours.”; the Crown Prince commanded. Noah nodded and walked out of the room.
He closed his eyes and sighed again. He knows Eugene is a cunning man and because of that he is sure that he did not join the church in order to ‘serve’. There is self interest in the church for him. And sensing such power, he has become even more sure.
He will get the answers out. He has gone long enough not knowing what happened. He will know what Eugene is planning. If he is planning anything against the Royal family. He will kill him for sure. He might be soft and calm minded, but he does not tolerate treason.
He stood up and walked out of the room to inform his decision to his father. He stopped in front of the gate as the knight announced his presence to his father. He entered inside and rolled his eyes. His father was sitting on a chair while his mother was on his lap. She was flustered and was trying to get out, but he kept a grip on her.
“Don’t be like that, our son is here.”; She whispered. His father smirked at her and kissed her head, making her blush.
“I see you are here, son.”; His father spoke up, still not letting his wife go.
“I see you still have no restrain.”; He rebuked, making his father laugh out loud.
“You will understand when you have a Queen, son.”; He said as he turned to kiss his wife’s lips, but stopped.
His mother glared at his father, making him gulp in fear. He let his wife go, who stood up and walked towards her son, hugging him tightly.
“You are always so busy, Augustus.”; She complained. She remembers when he was young, he would follow her all day long. He was a mama’s boy.
“I am sorry mother; father just shoves all the paperwork he does not want to do.”; He complained, making her look at her husband with narrowed eyes.
“I do not. He needs to understand how to handle work pressure. He is the next king.”; He defended himself before glaring at his son for ratting him out. He smiled at his parents. He is lucky to have them. Even though he is going to be the next king, his mother and father never let him feel pressured. They are always with him with every step he takes.
“Father, I called Eugene Floyd Axton to the palace.”; He said; before breaking the hug.
“Ah, you are talking about the power.”; His mother said; as he nodded.
“It was not some common power, Augustus. It was the Goddess’ power.”; His mother commented, making him look at her in shock.
“You did right. We need to question Eugene before Pope calls him to the Imperial capital.”; His father said. He had a frown, as he was in deep thought before he spoke up.
“Eugene was your friend, right?”; He questioned Augustus.
“Yes, father, he was. I don’t know what happened but after he turned five, he did not meet me or even talk to me.”; he answered his father.
“What are you thinking, William?”; His mother questioned his father. William looked at his wife and smiled.
“I am thinking about Axton family, Agatha.”; He answered, making her raise her eyebrows in a gesture to explain it further.
“They are not fools, and to lose their only heir to church is not something I thought would happen. But seeing what happened today, there has to be something that Duke Axton is gaining. But the question is what?”; William spoke up.
Agatha frowned before she sat down on the sofa. She smiled at Augustus and patted to her side. He smiled and sat beside his mother. He looked at his father, who was already looking towards them.
“You don’t need to worry. We will figure things out.”; William assured as Agatha smiled at her son.
