Ch-11 (Friendship)

“That’s rather ungodly hours, you have called me in, Crown Prince.”; Eugene said, making Augustus raise his eyebrows. It was around five in the morning, and almost all the kingdom was asleep. “I had to archbishop. You did something extraordinary thing.”; Augustus answered. “I do not know what are you talking about, Your Grace.”; Eugene said. Augustus sighed and sat back, looking at Eugene, who had a small smile on his face. He had no intention of telling him anything. Eugene has to admit that he did not think that performing such a ritual would alert everyone in the empire. He does not want Augustus to know about her existence. What if she falls for him again? She will suffer if she falls for someone as pathetic as Augustus. “I could sense the power, Eugene. And I assure it was not just me but the whole of the empire. Pope will soon call you to the Imperial capital.”; Augustus warned Eugene. Eugene hid his feelings, but he was frustrated with the thought of answering the Pope. That man is old enough, he should just die. “Tell me, what happened, Eugene and that’s a command.”; Augustus ordered. Eugene sighed, knowing this man won’t give it up. “To be honest, I do not know. Archduke Griffith and his sons came to pay a visit to the Shevon tree. We don’t know what happened, but suddenly Shevon tree erupted the Goddess Power.”; Eugene made up a lie, but he did not want Archduke to go scratch free. He knows that this might bring Aahana and Aarav to limelight, but that is the only way he could think of for meeting her. He knows Griffith’s family won’t allow her to be near him and if he goes to visit the manor, it will attract attention and suspicion. Also, they won’t allow him in either way. “Archduke Griffith was with you?”; Augustus questioned, to which Eugene nodded. Augustus frowned; Archduke has always been loyal to Royal family so why would he hide something like that. He looked at Eugene with narrowed eyes, making him raise his eyebrows in question. “What happened to you, Eugene?”; Augustus asked. “What do you mean, Your Grace?”; Eugene asked in return. “Why did you push me away? Why did you let our friendship go? Why did you become archbishop?”; Augustus asked. He wants to know all; he is giving one chance to their friendship. Eugene was his first friend, and he does not know why did he lose him? “Things happened, Your Grace.”; Eugene answered, looking away from Augustus. “What happened?”; Augustus asked again, pushing him to answer him. Eugene got up and looked at him before shaking his head. “I should go now, Your Grace. It is getting late and I would like to rest now.”; Eugene said. “I will find it out, Eugene. You know I can.”; Augustus answered. “Have a good night, Your Grace.”; Eugene bowed a little and walked out of the room. Augustus frowned and laid back on his sofa. He is sure that what Eugene told him was not entirely true. But he still has to question Archduke Griffith. He does not know why is he having a fuzzy feeling about this situation. ……………………………………………….  Aahana got up with startle when she felt someone entering her room. Nogi woke up the moment he did and started barking at the person. “Eeek”; The maid screeched and took steps back when she saw the dog barking at her. “Is there something you want?”; Aahana spoke up. She patted Nogi, who calmed down, knowing that his master is not in any danger. “Miss, I am here to help you bath.”; She answered. Aahana’s eyes widened, but shook her head. “I can take a bath by myself. But please help me choose a dress which is easy to walk in.”; Aahana said. She got up and walked out of the bed before getting inside the bathroom. The maid looked at Nogi with anxious eyes but started doing her work. She could feel the dog’s eyes on her, but he did nothing to her. Aarav was irritated by the intrusion in his room. He does not like people barging inside, he very much like his privacy. He would have done something about it, but now that he is in someone else’s house, he cannot do anything. He got himself ready and walked out with maids and butlers following him behind. They say that Archduke has commanded them to be his personal servants, but damn this is too much. Archduke might have good intentions, but why does he feel like he is watching their every move. He entered inside Aahana’s room and saw her in a baby blue short dress. The length was just an inch long from her knees. She was wearing heal while her hair was left open. She looked at her brother before getting up. She twirled and looked at him with a smile. “How do I look?”; She questioned. “Like a princess.”; He answered without hesitation. She really does look like a princess. He walked to her and patted her head. “I did not know that you loved dresses so much. I would have bought you so many dresses.”; He spoke up as she shrugged. “I do like dressing up. I mean, who doesn’t? but you know I occupation just does not allow us to do so.”; She answered; making Aarav sigh. “They wake up pretty early.”; Aarav said. “It’s nine, brother. We. were just too tired.”; She answered. Aarav raised his eyebrows and shook his head. He is just so tired even now. Nogi was walking beside them, he would always walk beside Aahana. “We should go out today, I want to explore.”; Aahana said. “Sounds like a plan.” They entered inside the dinning room. Everyone’s breath hitched; she looks just like herself except the tan. She looks so exotically beautiful. They all stood up and saw the siblings coming to them. Aahana was holding Aarav’s arm as she led her to the dining table. “Have a seat.”; Archduke said. The breakfast was served, and to say it was delicious would be an understatement. “We would like to go out and explore.”; Aarav said. They all looked at him and Aahana, who nodded. Anderson did not know what to say. He still has not appointed personal knights to them. He cannot afford to lose his daughter. He was about to say something but was cut off by a knock. “Come in.”; He ordered. He frowned, seeing his head butler Luther walking inside with a letter and a grim face. “What is it?”; He asked. He knows Luther would have not interrupted his breakfast if it was not important. Luther stopped beside him and handed him a letter. “King has sent an urgent letter, My Lord.”; He spoke up. Anderson narrowed his eyes at the letter before opening it up. He sneered seems like Eugene was questioned and that little b***h ratted them out. He looked at his sons and then at Aahana and Aarav, who were already looking at them. “Samuel and Michael will guide you through the fief. I need to go to the capital.”; He said. Before Aarav or Aahana could say anything, he got up. Kissing Eleanor’s head, he walked out of the dining room with a grim face. Aarav and Aahana looked at each other with raised eyebrows. “We will guide you and tell you everything about this world.”; Michael said with a cute smile, while Samuel was happy as well. The breakfast was over. Samuel and Michael went to their father’s study while Aarav and Aahana were taking a tutor of the manor. Eleanor was more than happy to spend more time with Aahana. It made her want to cry and hug her, but she controlled herself. She does not want to lose her daughter just because she cannot control her emotions. “This is the library. Every history of this kingdom and empire is here. You can read anything.”; Eleanor said. Aahana smiled at the lady, but deep down, she sighed. She does not like reading books at all, rather she likes comics, manga, anime. She is more into visuals and sounds instead of words, to be honest. While Aarav’s eyes twinkled, he adores books. He is the biggest bookworm she has seen. He is also a lethal one, if you disturb him while he is reading; he will kill you. “You both can ask anything of the servants. We will give budget to you; it will be the money that you can spend here.”; She answered. “Can’t we do some job; I am a doctor. I can cure people.”; Aarav said. Eleanor’s eyes widened. “You are a doctor!?”; She asked; making him nod. She smiled at him, coming out of her surprise. “You can, but you don’t have to.”; She answered while, deep down, she was worried. Occupation like doctors is for lower nobles, who cannot inherit their father’s titles. Does that mean that her daughter did not live the life of luxury?
