1448 Words
Emma was in her room upstairs, combing her lush silk black hair as she just finished taking her bath. She thought about her mother and she knew definitely her mother would be sad in her disappearance from home but she wasn't ready to marry any man yet. "Couldn't mom and dad understand that I don't want to marry now?. Atleast let me work first and earn some money then later we can discuss about marriage." Emma frowned as she inserted the long yellow comb into her long black hair, combing it and she frowned. "Dad didn't even gave me the option to choose a husband for myself, why will he think that he can just assign any man to become as my husband?. What if the man he had chosen is an ugly man?," Emma frowned as she continued combing her hair. The sun had gone completely down with the moon shinning brightly above the sky and Emma walked to her wardrobe to took out a yellow gown. Dressing in it, she picked up her mobile phone and stared to it for a while as definitely the call wouldn't connected due to the different country she had travelled too, and she kept her phone down back in the bed drawer as she wasn't going home anytime soon to become a full house wife as she was looking forward to getting a job and settling in the country first before she was finally caught by her father, whom had a lot of connections. Just after returning her mobile phone into her bed drawer, Emma heard a knock on the door and she walked away to the door, to pulled it opened. "Emma, you're home," It was definitely Joy and Joy was her age mate, but Joy had long blonde hair while hers was black, as Joy dressed in an off-white gown. "Yeah I am, How's studies, when did you arrived?," Emma asked, knowing Joy was in school and studying to become a nurse while Grace was a model, working with different entertainment and beauty company. "Not quite long. I was already on my way home when Mom called me on phone and told me you've arrived, welcome sister" Joy said as she turned to face Emma, and quickly pulled Emma into a tight hugged. Emma relaxed and she hugged Joy back too. "Thank you" Emma muttered and Joy spoked, "Dinner is already ready, I am sure Grace is not yet home," Joy turned to the corridor to walked back to her own room that was rightly next to Emma's, and Emma asked her, "Where did Grace went too?." "I don't know, maybe clubbing. I hardly call her, as she have her boyfriend to protect her," Joy said and Emma rather offered an understanding faint smile to Joy whom clicked her door handle opened. "You can go downstairs to join mother, I will soon be out, let me quickly take my bath and freshen up, I will be downstairs now to join you all." "Okay sis," Emma smiled as she watched Joy walked into her room and slowly shut the room door closed, while she sighed. Emma missed their childhood days where they wouldn't have to worry about anything but rather played with their doll and ran around the house, but now they were adult, they had to worry about shouldering responsibility and more likely, their parents wanting them to marry. Emma sighed as she took the stairs and went downstairs back to join Aunt Mila whom she saw arranging the dinning table and setting up their dinners. Emma could perceived the delicious scent of the fried eggs, and boiled yam that her aunt had made, and her stomach grumbles out so loud in hunger as she stepped down and walked into the beautiful living room to join her aunt in the dinning table. Aunt Mila made so much money when she was younger from clubbing and dancing as a strip pole dancer, as Aunt Mila was pretty with her cute round face, and puppy eyes as Aunt Mila had cute dimples on her cheeks too. Up till that very moment, Aunt Mila hadn't aged as she still looked the same like it was yesterday. Only that her age grew older, as one wouldn't knew that Aunt Mila was 50-years old as Aunt Mila still looked to be 33-years of age. The living room was simple as Aunt Mila didn't wanted the service of any maid in her home as she practically does all her work load by herself, but Aunt Mila didn't attended strip club again due to her age, because the club owners mostly needed young ladies that were more likely flexible to entertain the men, while she had advanced in age. The living room had seven red couches and the floor was tiled in a milk coloured tiles, And Emma walked up to the dining room to joined Aunt Mila whom smiled to her. "Emma, you shouldn't worry much about settling down, Men are of different kinds, and I pray you get a good man" Aunt Mila spoked. "Aunt.." Emma sighed as she approached a seat closer to Aunt Mila and she pulled it out and sat down, while Aunt Mila sat on the opposite seat across to her, as the dinning table has six chairs. "I just want to work. I don't want to marry now, and not like I wouldn't." Emma frowned and Aunt Mila smiled as she stared down to the meal that she had set but they were still covered as she was waiting for Joy to stepped down to joined them for dinner, as she didn't knew when Grave would arrived. "You shouldn't worry much. But did you saw his photo, I mean the photo of the man that your father want you to marry?, Maybe I can help you take it to a matchmaker to know if you both can be compatible," Aunt Mila offered while Emma laughed out and smiled surprising her Aunt. "Aunt, that won't be necessary. I'm not thinking about him for now and haven't seen his photos either, but please don't tell mom I am here." Aunt Mila shrugged as she stared away from Emma not responding, and she smiled a little. "Aunt!.. Did you tell me mom, I'm already here?," Emma questioned out with a deep frowned settled on her face, and just then the living room door pushed opened and Grace walked into the living room in her seductive crop top and shorts, as she had already confirmed Pascal was fine. "I haven't Emma, but you know I cannot lie to your mom when she will finally ask me. She's my only sister from my mother's side and I wouldn't want Sandra to get sick worrying about you." "You shouldn't tell her I am here Aunt. Mom cannot speak to dad o my behalf, and I just don't want to marry!." Emma calmed as she realized she had raised her voice on Aunt Mila whom sighed and stared to Grace approaching them. "I'm sorry Aunt," Emma apologised and Aunt Mila replied, "Is alright. but just know if your mother eventually calls me to find out if you're here with me, I cannot lie to her. As that's what sisters stand for." Emma frowned as if she had known that Aunt Mila wouldn't helped her to hide her from her parent, then she wouldn't had travelled to France and sat all that long distance flight trip, only to still get caught. Grace approached them and greeted, "Good evening mom. What's wrong?." "Welcome Grace" Mrs Mila replied. "Good evening," Emma greeted Grace, as she continued to frowned and Grace shifted her gazed to her mother in a questioning look. "Is nothing serious Grace. Where went you?. You stink of wine and I am sure that you must be coming from a club house?," Mrs Mila questioned to lighten the awkward silence and Grace smiled to her mother as she immediately pulled out the next dinner seat closer to her mother and sat on it. "What do you expect of me mom?. A She-goat cannot birth a chicken." Aunt Mila frowned. "Are you indirectly calling me a She-goat?," Aunt Mila questioned as her face burned red in embarrassment and Emma smiled as she stared from Aunt Mila to Grace knowing how troublesome Grace was. "No mom, I'm only just making reference and given you an example." "And you didn't saw any other examples to used than a She-goat?." "I'm sorry mom, Am hungry." Grace immediately pulled the dinning seat closer to the table top and she opened the meal covered and picked up her spoon to start eating..
