The New Alpha

As Annalease walked with Elder Jonah. She felt him stiffen as if he noticed something. "Hello Selene, you are right on time." Jonah said. "What, Selene, as in the Moon Goddess? That Selene?" she thought to herself. "Yes"Moon answered her. "That Selene".

Annalease turned around to be standing face to face with the Moon Goddess. Annalease bowers in respect. "What am I just in time for dear Jonah?" She asked "To answer a question that has both of us stumped" Jonah answered her then looked at Annalease smiling. "And what would that question be? she asked as if she didn't know already. "Why in the world would you have paired her with that cocky, ungrateful..." Selene cut Jonah off there "Now now Elder Jonah. That is a bit rude" she said laughing. "But you summed him up pretty accurately Jonah." She said still smiling. Annalease did not find it at all amusing to be mates to Jason at all. "I did it because he needed to be taught a lesson. A lesson of respect, caring, compassion, and discipline.Annalease is teaching him that and she is the only one who can. Annalease do not worry dear child, the bond will be dissolved. This is why Annalease that you were able to resist him and not fall at his feet no matter what he did You were able to see beyond the mate bond which is proof of your discipline.And you will need to continue to teach him these lessons by using what he is lacking."" she instructed Annalease. Annalease did not like the idea of dealing with Jason any longer "Can't I just kill him in a challenge?" She asked hoping the answer would be yes. "No. sometimes dear someone learns better by a dose of humiliation." And you are already on the right track with that. Now Jonah, I need to speak to Annalease on a private matter if you will excuse us" she asked. "Very well. Annalease when you are finished please meet us in the Alphas office." "I will Jonah " she replied. Then she thought uh oh why does the Moon Goddess need to speak to me!

"Annalease, I know you have been upset with me for some time now. And I see that you are really troubled over something If you continue to let your troubles consume your mind, and not talk it out with someone your troubles will destroy everything you have worked so hard for. You need to figure out how to tell people what is bothering you. If not, our little firecracker will explode and burn out." Selene spoke softly to Annalease Tears started to pour down Annalease's face. "So I need to tell the person why I'm upset right? Well what if I hurt them, or what if they take it wrong" she asked Selene? "Well you try again." she answered simply. More tears came to Annalease as she thought about Nick and everything that has happened. " Well Moon Goddess, I will start with you then. Why was I not paired with Nick, who I have loved since I was a child, Why do we have a bond that no one could ever break if we were not meant to be mates? Why did you make it so difficult for us and make us feel bad for loving each other when we had true mates already? If we had been mates, it wouldn't have mattered that we we gave ourselves to each other, and then feel like we betrayed soneone. Maybe then he wouldn't have left me without a simple good bye. Why couldn't you have let us be happy instead of miserable?" Annalease let it all out, and then she realized what she said. "Me and my big mouth" She said to herself wishing she hasn't said a word. But honestly she felt a lot better. "You indeed are a firecracker Annalease. And I guess I deserved that for everything I put you through. I am truly sorry Annalease. But did I hear you correctly when you said the two of you felt your bond since you were children? She asked Annalease curiously? "Well yeah. Everyone did." Annalease answered."Then when we turned 16 we realized we were not true mates. Everyone said that it must be our friend bond then, but we waited still hoping by chance until we turned 18." "Interesting Annalease" Selene's answer made no sense to Annalease. It was almost like she didn't know something, or the pieces were not fitting right. Selene sat there quietly for a few minutes, almost looking like she was mind linking bit different. It was strange to Annalease. She had never seen whatever Selene was doing.

"Now Annalease" Selene started as"Do you know the difference between true mates and destined mates?" she asked Annalease. "I thought they were the same, are they not?" Annalease was becoming confused the more Selene talked. "No dear. But destined mates are rare, extremely rare. That happens only when the two together as true mates are brought together by more than just fate. They have a higher purpose to fill, usually by means of filling a prophecy. They are written in the stars before they are ever born. Do you understand?" Selene asked Annalease. "I think so, but what does that have to do with me?" "Well, I pair wolves up with their true mate before their human is even born, then give them out accordingly. I do not know if someone is destined to be with someone, that is far beyond my control. So once and a while a person can actually have a true mate and a destined mate that are different. The destined mate will always win over the true mate Now does it make sense?" "Yes " Annalease answered "so is that what happened with me? Is that why you are telling me this?" Annalease asked Selene. "What will be is what will be my dear child." Selene said disappearing into a cloud of smoke. "What the hell, now I'm back to being confused even more" Annalease said to Moon. "Well that is how she does most of the time. You never get a straight answer from her" Moon told her.

Annalease met her father and the Elders in the office. "I apologize gentlemen" Annalease spoke while bowing her head in respect for the ones standing in front of her. "Glad you could join us again Alpha Annalease" Elder Jonah said giving her a sly smile."Please have a seat" Annalease motioned to the chairs at the conference table.

Elder Jonah spoke first. "Annalease, I have informed everyone here on the condition that you found upon arriving here. I have also explained to them all that you have done since getting here earlier today, and we must say we are all very impressed with you.". "Thank you Elder John. I must say this though, this was not my intentions when I set out this morning. We set out only as a support mission with the intentions of renewing our treaty since the former Alpha would never get back with me. We feared once we arrived that they had been attacked considering the condition of the borders. We had no intention what so ever to over throw an Alpha and take control. But please understand, once I was here and saw that the pack did not even have access to food or medical I had to do something. After I saw to it that their necessities were going to be taken care of, and speaking to my father that is when he notified you all. I know by law I should have called and notified you first, however for some it had been up to two days since they ate. My priority was them." Annalease explained.

"No explanation is needed dear". Another Elder spoke. "My name is Elder Micah. Let me say this Annalease, you did exactly as you should have. The first priority even before notifying us would have been caring for the pack. The law of which you are speaking of does not stand when someone is in need of basic life care. We would have covered all of the expenses had we known of course of the situation, but I understand that you took care of this yourself, and out of your personal account?" "I did." Annalease spoke. "I also gave the pack card to them just in case, but from the receipts I received it came from my own account. In which I am glad to pay so that I know the pack is cared for and the fact that the Alpha had used the packs money for his own benefit. This is the reason I forced him to step down. I gave him the option of stepping down, or me challenging him. At that point I knew I could not let him continue and risk lives of the pack. " Annalease stated.

"I am Elder Adam Annalease. All of us spoke on the way here, and I believe I can say for all of us, that we will not allow Jason to regain his Alpha title. We would like for the Crescent Moon Pack to fall under you Alpha Annalease. We all understand that you are about to become the Alpha of Harvest Moon, and we are considering merging the two packs together." The other elders were shaking their heads in agreement.

Annalease looked at her father, seeing tears in his eyes he said "Annalease you have made me a very proud and I believe that you have what it takes if this is something you want to do. "

"May I take time to think about it? For now, I will remain here as Alpha and see how the pack feels about merging. They have been through so much as it is, and with the threats, I know we would put everyone at risk if we try changing a lot at one time. However if it becomes having to choose between packs, I would want Harvest Moon Pack. But since I did take over and make the Alpha submit, I would accept my responsibilities here if need be." Annalease answered as honestly as she could.

"Elder Jonah spoke again. "Annalease, what are your intentions about your mate situation I must ask."

"I am rejecting him, with the blessings of all of you. I know we should not question the actions and choices of the Moon Goddess, but honestly if I can get this pack back to functioning and safe without killing him, well that's the best he can hope for." she answered slightly grinning.

"We usually would not bless the rejection of true mates, however I believe in your case, and the situation that you are in, I believe I would have to agree on this" Elder Micah states.

A bright shimmer came into the room and all of the elders stood bowing their heads along with Annalease's father. She noticed as she looked around then feeling the power she bowed her head as well. " Hello my children" Annalease heard the Moon Goddess again. "Moon Goddess it is an honor" Elder Jonah said to her

"Annalease and I spoke before this meeting. That is why she was a little late. So I apologize gentleman for keeping her from you all." Selene continued. "I am here to answer the question about Annalease's mate situation to all of you. I have told Annalease some of what I am about to say in front of all of you. Annalease You have shown more wisdom and courage than honestly anyone in this room. And I don't mean that wrong towards anyone here. I know you seek the blessings of the elders for your decision to reject Jason, but that will not be needed. I am giving my blessings for it. I needed someone to teach him humanity and respect along with discipline, and you my child are teaching him that. I will ask you to give it a little while longer before you reject him to continue the lesson he needs. He has become a big disappointment not only for me and his pack but also his parents. When you reject him, only he will feel the bond break. I will erase the bond for you and you already have another destined mate waiting for you."Selene said smiling, "and this one will not disappoint you". Then just as quickly as she appeared she disappeared.

"Well that is settled then. Alpha Annalease congratulations on your new pack Crescent Moon. What you choose to do with it whether to merge or not is up to you. But the Moon Goddess has spoken and this is where she intended for you to be. As far as Jason and Amber's punishment it seems Selene wants you to handle that as well as you see fit. Come, we will make the announcement now." Elder Jonah ordered.

Annalease was feeling overwhelmed. But she got her answer. She does have a destined mate. That was why the Moon Goddess told her all of that stuff annalease thought and smiled She looked at her father for support and he whispered to her, "It will all be ok Annalease. I will be there to help you". She smiled at him loving the fact he always knew what to say.

Elder Jonah came up to Annalease as everyone was leaving the office. "She speaks in riddles don't she" he said smiling at her talking about Selene. "Most definitely" she answered."

The man that Annalease met when she arrived as Crescent Moon, one of the guards walked up to her and Jonah. "Hello Beta Mike. I believe what I am about to tell you will make your day" Jonah said to him. "Wait Beta? I thought you were just a guard." Annalease said apologizing to Beta Mike. "No, he is the Beta that Jason's father placed before his death. Jason could not replace him due to the stipulation that his father made on making Jason Alpha. He is a great Beta and will serve his Alpha proud. " Jonah answered. "Now Mike, I would like to introduce to you your new Alpha. Alpha Annalease Johnson of The Harvest Moon Pack and the Crescent Moon Pack. " Beta Mike bowed. "Alpha Annalease, I pledge my loyalty to you" He said to her. "Please call me Annalease. It is my pleasure to have you as my Beta. Now who is the Gamma? Annalease asked. "Jason never appointed one. He always said he was to busy". Mike answered. ""Uggghhh did he do anything?" Annalease asked frustrated. "If the two of you wouldn't mind giving me a few minutes to talk to my father before we get started"? She asked noticing her father and Maggie.

Annalease walked over to her father and his new mate Maggie. "I'm sorry Alpha Dad that I have not had the opportunity to congratulate the two of you." Annalease said hugging her father then Maggie. "Alpha Dad" Maggie asked confused. "Yes my dear, instead of daddy Annalease came up with Alpha daddy. Now just about everyone in the pack calls me Alpha Dad." Maggie giggled. "Alpha Annalease, thank you again for everything that you have done so far. And you were not even the Alpha here. Now that you are, I can't imagine how wonderful you will make it here. Maybe it will again feel like home instead of a prison " Maggie told her. "Your daughter is absolutely amazing and an extremely strong leader. She had no problems busting into the pack house, and getting down to business to care for everyone. Nothing stood in her way. Then she sent my sister and I on a shopping trip, and we just love shopping" Maggie said giggling. "Well thank you Maggie. Now you will have the honors of taking care of this old man for me, and making sure he does as he is supposed to do. Now I'm sorry Maggie but I need to steal my father for this meeting and they are waiting for us" Annalease said excusing them to go to the stage. "Don't worry honey, you are still my number one" Alpha Dad said kissing her on the top of her head. "I love you Daddy". she said as they stepped up to Jonah.

Elder Jonah spoke to the pack. "Crescent Moon, The elders were called by Annalease concerning the condition of this pack when she arrived earlier today. I must apologize for myself and the others for not checking in sooner. We have been extremely busy with the rogue and vampire threats, but that still is no excuse for us. We are going to remedy this packs issues for good. I Jonah Saunder Elder for the werewolf council hereby remove the title of alpha permeantly from Jason Jackson former Alpha of the Crescent Moon." Jonah asks for the dagger to be brought up, taking Annalease's hand and making a cut, he squeezed until blood dropped to the ground. "Annalease, do you accept the Crescent Moon as your pack, and do you promise to protect them and lead them? Do you promise to help this pack heal from the harm that has been inflicted upon them? Do you promise also to your best ability to keep them from any further harm?" "I do" Annalease answered. "I give you the New Alpha of Crescent Moon, Annalease Johnson." Cheers soared through the air from everyone except for two that were in silver chains with the guards .

"Crescent Moon, I stand here in front of you all now as your Alpha. Let me make sure all of you know this was not my intentions. I came to offer security for the threats. However when we arrived and saw the conditions you all were having to deal with, I could not allow it to continue. It was my first thought to allow Jason to regain his title back, unfortunately the more issues we found and the jeopardy he placed this pack in we cannot allow that. I believe in discipline and respect also the need to not be handed a title due to birth right but to have to earn that title. I will let you all know a lot is going to change around here starting immediately. you all have seen Jason and Amber. Let them be examples of my punishments for disrespect and lack of discipline. I believe that I am a fair and just Alpha and my punishments fit the crimes. Now with all of the that said I have been informed dinner will be ready in two hours and it is an order that all must be present." Annalease finished on that note. more roars and cheers of excitement went up for their new Alpha.

Maggie and her father met her as she stepped off the stage giving her hugs. Annalease noticed Nick there as well and glared at him. "you can't punish Nick dear, I linked him and ordered him to come." her father explained. "I wasn't, I just don't know what to say to him right now. He left me without a single word after us having s*x for the first time " Annalease said to much to quick "YOU DID WHAT?!? Alpha Dad roared Maggie started rubbing circles on his back to calm him down. "Dear, think of it this way, they waited until they were eighteen, and even you said it yourself how much they loved each other and wished they were mates " Maggie said calming him down towards Annalease anyways. "Maggie is right, Annalease. I cannot fault you, and you did wait until you were of age, but that does not forgive Nick for not even speaking to you afterwards and hurting my princess." His voice was raising with every word as he was walking towards Nick getting angrier with each step. "NICK!!" Alpha Dad shouted towards him. Maggie running behind him trying to calm him down before reaching Nick. "Serves him right for not even saying good bye or anything" Annalease thought to herself. "So you are going to let your father kill him over something both of you are responsible for happening"? Moon asked her. "s**t! Alpha Dad STOP! " Annalease roared making the ground shake and getting her father to stop long enough for Maggie to catch up with him to calm him down as Annalease ran towards them. .

Nick watched as Annalease stepped off the stage and went to speak to her father and a woman that was next to him. "YOU DID WHAT" he heard Alpha Dad shout. "Oh no, Annalease didn't tell him did she" he asked himself. Then he heard Alpha Dad yelling his name. "OH s**t! She told him. He looked over at her and she had a smirk on her face as her father was storming towards him. "I'm a dead man!" Havock his wolf was laughing. "I tried to tell you to talk to Annalease. now if he doesn't kill you, she will. " Havock said still laughing in the back of his mind

Beta Mike ran towards Annalease to see if everything was ok as she reached her father her father seemed ok but still angry Mike could sense. Annalease and Maggie were laughing at him so things had to be ok he thought to himself. Mike walked up between Maggie and Alpha Annalease and casually draped his arms around their back because they were both doubled over laughing. "I don't see what is so funny. I'm still going to hang that boy by a certain body part" Alpha John said agitated but calming down. Annalease and Maggie laughed even harder. Beta Mike even started laughing. "I don't know who he is yelling about but I want to watch him as he hangs this poor fellow up." Beta Mike laughed. "He's talking about my Beta" Annalease said. "Beta Mike stopped laughing immediately, stood straight up and said "Huh?" with his eyes wide and his face drained of all color. This caused everyone to stop laughing and look at Beta Mike. Annalease realized the mix up and said "Not you ding dong! and they all started laughing again.

Nick started walking towards the group. He was angry. who was this guy with his arm around Annalease? Did she meet her mate? Il going to rip his arm off of his scrawny body. Nick thought to himself. Then he heard Alpha Dad speak. ""Nick, it's about time you came to join us. I would like to have a discussion with you my son." Oh s**t " Nick said. Not before I do! " Annalease said while starring daggers at him. "well Havock this is it. I'm dead" he said to his wolf. "Well not before I have a discussion with him" Nick said pointing to Mike. "Wait.What do I have to do with this?" Mike asked. "Why is your arm around Annalease. Are you her mate, does she belong to you?" Nick said with jeaolousy rolling off of him. Annalease decided it was time for a little pay back. She wrapped her arm around Mike and said "Yes I do belong to him, since My other Beta so rudely left me this morning and didn't bother to.even acknowledge me, I came here and accepted Mikey here" She said kissing mike on the cheek. Nick saw red and without thinking he swung at Beta Mike. Annalease blocked Nick's punch and nailed him in the jaw. Mike shifted for dear the Alpha was in danger. Alpha Dad pulled him back right away assuring him and the onlookers that Annalease was ok. Nick went to sweep her feet out from under her but she jumped, and kicked him in his head. He was out cold. " Can we get the pack doctor over here please" Annalease says looking down at Nick. "He's giving to remember to say good bye to you from now on." Alpha Dad said smiling down at him. "Wait a second, all of this was because he did not say goodbye this morning before leaving. Annalease said "Yes" at the same time Alpha Dad said "No". Alpha Dad then said, well that's what topped the iceberg anyway. "Well in that case, I will make sure I tell you Goodbye every time I leave then Annalease. "Mike said laughing. The pack doctor arrived to check on Nick. "How did this happen?" he asked. "Well I kicked him for not saying goodbye this morning to me" she said. Then everyone shook their heads and laughed at the Alpha. Nick sat up. "What the hell?" Rubbing his head and remembering" Annalease!" he yelled. "I would be careful Beta Nick and leave the Alpha alone for a bit so you have time to recover" the pack doctor ordered.

"By the way, if Nick is here, who is in charge of the warriors at Oak Trees?"Annalease asked. " Don't worry, the other pack is in the capable hands of Travis Conner" Annalease relaxed knowing Travis was one of the head warriors for the pack. "Are you staying for dinner?" Annalease asked hopefully. so much happened today, she just wanted the comfort of her best friend. "Yes, Annalease. I want to hear about what happened here" Nick answered. The pack doctor spoke up. "You probably should stay the night that way if you have any issues I will be here. "He told Nick. Nick looked hesitantly to Annalease. Then Alpha Dad spoke up. "Not in her room you will not!"Annalease and Nick turned thirty shades of red embarrassed. . "Everyone dinner is ready" Annalease shouted to everyone changing the subject.
