Liam’s POV
I needed to confront Alexander. I do not know who he had in his room right now, but I did know that if I could hear him, so could Serenity. When I finally heard everything die down, I headed off toward Serenity’s old room. I heard footsteps approaching the door and I wanted to see the poor girl that had to do the walk of shame. That is when Serenity opened the door. What the f**k? Did she just f**k my brother? I was not going to stand for this. He agreed to let her go and here he was going back on his word so soon.
“Oh, hey Liam.”
“Hey Liam? That is all you have to say? I thought my brother had another poor helpless girl in there but no it is you. He said he was going to let you go that neither of us could have you but no he lied. What is wrong with you? You just decided to go and f**k my brother?”
“Well, it’s actually not any of your business Liam. Whatever I decide to do with my body, is my business.”
“Hell no, you’re coming with me!” I took her hand and dragged her out of the house and pushed her into the back of the car and locked the door as I climbed in the driver’s seat. Rage took me over completely. I was pissed at her and especially at him. How could he take her virginity? I know that I didn’t have any right to take her like this but it was the only way I was going to get her away from him long enough for her to see what a huge mistake she just made.
“Where the hell are you taking me? Liam turn this car around right now! You can’t just kidnap me!”
“I don’t give a f**k about what you want right now. You will thank me when I am done. You will realize what a huge mistake you’ve made.” I turned up the music to drown her out. I drove and drove for hours. When we were far away from home, I pulled over into to a hotel. I got out and locked the door behind and made my way to the front desk, checking us both in. When I got back to the car, I put it in drive and pulled over to our room. I walked around the car and opened the back door for her.
“I’m not going anywhere with you! Your crazy!”
I picked her up and placed her over my shoulder as I reached in my pocket for the door key. Once the door was open and closed behind me, I put her back on the ground. I grabbed her face and pushed her back up against the door. “You’re not going to be with my brother. I will stop at nothing to make sure you’re not together.”
“You can’t stop me from seeing him Liam. He will find me and when he finds out what happened, he is going to beat the s**t out of you. This time, I won’t stop him.”
“Serenity, he won’t ever find us. I am good at covering my tracks. I just do not understand. You know the way he is and after all he has done to you, you continue to let him in. He is so wrong for you. Why don’t you see that?”
“So, what? You think your right for me? You are no better. All you have done is lie to me. Yes, Alexander has done some messed up things to me, but we have put that aside. He knows he messed up and he is changing that. You wouldn’t even begin to understand.”
“I know that I lied to you about being married but I never lied about anything else. I do care about you and I know that you are making a huge mistake with my brother. He is never going to change Serenity. A part of you must know that.”
“You don’t even know what you’re talking about. You know nothing about me and Alexander. Do not even pretend like you care about me now. If you did care about me, you would have told me that you were married from the beginning. No, you decided to keep that one to yourself. You knew if you told me that I would know that you were just trying to screw me for your own sick enjoyment.”
“I never used you. Unlike my brother, you are important to me and I want what is best for you. If my brother wanted what is best for you then he would not have slept with you. Geez, even I never tried to take that away from you. I would have never let it get that far. I knew how important that was to you.”
“Again, it is none of your business Liam. Alexander and I are working on things and I cannot help the feelings that I have begun to feel for him. He is changing himself, for me. You are the one that came to me saying that you wanted me to be the light that snuffed out his darkness.”
“Yeah, well that was before. All, I am saying is that he is wrong for you. You deserve more than he can give you. He will go back to being the same asshole he always was, I am just trying to protect you from that.”
“No, you’re not trying to protect me at all. You think that you can lie about being married and that I would just forgive you. You thought that I would still run to you despite the promise you made to a woman.”
“I never thought that you would just forgive me for not telling you about Erina. I just thought you would understand is all. I never thought that you would think so low of me. That you would think I would just use you. I am over having this conversation. You are not going to change your mind about my brother, so I guess I’m just going to have to change your mind instead.” I did not even let her get another word out before I slammed the door in her face. This woman was impossible. She did not know anything about my brother, but I was going to make sure that she saw him for what he truly was. The only problem was that everything I had on him was in the past. Now knowing Serenity, she would not care so much about what he did in his past. If I could just set him up somehow, I could show her who he really was. I was going to the bar across the street so I could think. I knew Serenity would not leave for multiple reasons. She had no idea where she was, she did not have access to a phone, and despite me kidnapping her, she knew I would not do anything to hurt her.
I walked into the bar across the street, heading straight for the bar. “Gin and tonic,” I said to the bartender. I waited a couple minutes, starting to get frustrated that she wasn’t done with my drink yet. I looked up as she stumbled behind the bar to bring me my drink.
“Sorry about that, it is my first day on the job.”
“No problem,” I said as I sat the money on the bar. I walked outside and sat at one of the wooden tables so I could get a better view of the hotel room. From here, I could see if Serenity decided to make a run for it. I downed my drink in one quick motion, already ready for another. I waited a few minutes before walking back into the bar, still trying to devise a plan. I sat my glass on the bar, motioning the bartender for another. As soon as she brought it over, I downed it as fast as I got it, feeling the burning down my throat. I knew I should not even be drinking in the first place. I am a mean drunk. I found that out soon after me and Erina got married. We were on our honeymoon and a man had tried hitting on her at a bar we went to. Of course, I was not having that. I beat the hell out of that guy and Erina had talked my way out of going to jail that night. I swore I would never drink after that and up until this point, I hadn’t.
“Whiskey sour, please,” Serenity said from beside me.
“You’re not drinking, go back to the room.”
“You don’t tell me what to do. If I want to have a drink, I’ll have a drink.”
I saw the bartender look her up and down, deciding if she might be old enough to even drink. The problem was that Serenity looked much older than eighteen. The bartender shrugged her shoulders and walked off. She returned a moment later and slid the drink right to her.
“Oh, by the way, you are paying for this.”
“Yeah, we will see about that. You shouldn’t even be over here in a place like this.”
“I figured that I had nowhere else to go and I wasn’t about to stay in that hotel room bored out of my mind.”
I turned back to my drink, trying my best to ignore her. I saw her get up out the corner of my eye and head straight for the pool table in the middle of the bar. Without even thinking about it, I followed her.
“You know how to play?” I asked.
“A little,” she smirked.
“Well, then rack them up.” After racking, she walked along the table until she found the right pool stick. I picked up one as well but I knew nothing about pool so I could care less which stick I had chosen. We both took the last sip of our drinks and focused on the game. We kept the drinks coming as we continued to play. She was really good at the game too. She beat me every game. To be honest, I was not paying much attention. The way she was bending over the table, showing off her body, made me lose focus. After playing and drinking for hours, we decided it was time to leave. It was funny watching her walk back to the room. She was so drunk that she could hardly stand. Once we were back in the room, I took my shoes off and laid across the bed, ready for some much-needed sleep.
“You’re going to bed? Well, you’re no fun.”
“It is late and there is nothing else to do. Plus, we are both pretty wasted so it might be a good idea to sleep it off. I wouldn’t want to be tempted to take advantage of you or anything.” I laughed the whole time I said it. I wasn’t serious but if she came on to me, I would not stop her.
“You wouldn’t even have the opportunity to take advantage of me. Even though I am pretty drunk, I’m not drunk enough to let that happen.”
I was not planning on doing anything with her, but I had to see if she was right. I am not sure if it was the alcohol that was making me brave or if it was just me being curious. So, I walked over to the door, where she was standing. I placed my both of my arms beside her head and brought my mouth to her ear. “Is that a challenge?”
I heard her stutter, “um…no…it is pure fact.”
She was saying one thing, but our bodies were saying another. She may have been too drunk to notice it or maybe she was trying hard to not focus on it herself. My head moved back in front of hers and my mouth lingered closely to hers. Our mouths were so close to each other that we could feel each other’s breath. I was deciding on whether to proceed with what I really want to do to her right now, but I couldn’t. I would not take advantage of her like that. I pulled away from her quickly before I did something I would regret. I walked over to the bed and plopped myself down. I turned over, facing the wall so I would not have to look at her. I heard her let out a deep breath and made out her footsteps heading to the sofa in the room. I quickly turned over realizing what an asshole I was being. I was on going to let her sleep on the bed, so I got up and walked over to her. I picked her up and placed her down on the bed, when I did, I fell over top of her by accident.
I started laughing, “s**t, I’m sorry.”
She started giggling, “it’s okay.”
I lifted myself up until I was barely standing over her. I did not want to move, so lent down, inching our faces closer together and placed a kiss on her lips.
“Liam, what are you doing?
I stood up and clutched the back of neck with my hand. “I just had to feel your lips on mine.”
“Liam, I’ve already told you, nothing is going to happen between us. I care for your brother too much to hurt him like that.”
Oh, here we go again. “Do you really have to bring up my brother right now? I know that you are not mine to kiss or anything, but you are not his either. You do not belong to anyone and you should be able to do what you want with who you want when you want it. I did not plan on kissing you tonight or anything. It is just when I am with you, my body has a mind of its on. Its not only my physical attraction to you but I want to be around you all the time. I cannot help it Serenity.”
“Let’s just go to bed. I am too drunk for this conversation.”
I sighed and decided to just do what she says. I mean it was not like I was just expecting her to kiss me back or anything. As I drifted off to sleep, ideas started popping up in my thoughts and I knew exactly what I was doing to do to set that trap for my brother. But first, I had to keep Serenity away from him a little while.
