Chapter 19: A MarriageHer widely opened eyes suggested her confusion. She looked directly into Luis Johnson's eyes. After staring at her for a while, Luis Johnson said, "I thought you could realize it. After all, I brought you to my parents." Rebecca Bell thought, "So, m guess was right?" Still being confused, she asked, "But why?" She knew that Luis Johnson did not like her, so why did he make them look like a real couple? What did he mean by doing this? Luis Johnson put one hand into his trouser pocket. His delicate facial features were a little hazy in the dim light. He pursed his lips and said indifferently, "I need a wife. You are the right person." Rebecca Bell repeated his words in her mind silently, "Wife? He said he needed a wife?" Rebecca Bell stood stiffly as if all her blood ran in the wrong direction inside her. So, could she regard Luis Johnson's words as a proposal? She was proposed by the well-known single billionaire who had the absolute power of the Johnson Group and controlled half of the wealth of Moonhiland! Luis Johnson proposed to her! Anyway, it was something that made any girl ecstatic. But she couldn't help feeling weepy. "Mr. Johnson, are you kidding?" After a long while, Rebecca Bell was finally able to talk but only to find that her voice was quivering. "No." He was as calm as usual and said calmly, "If you have no problem, I'll see you at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau at nine o'clock in the morning. Bring your ID card and household register." Rebecca Bell thought in silence, "What's wrong with him? Did Mr. Johnson take the wrong medicine today?" Rebecca Bell asked with a long face, "Mr. Johnson, can you tell me why it should be me?" Luis Johnson frowned. He took out a box of cigarettes from his jacket pocket and lit one. The smoke rose from his fingers. Rebecca Bell didn't like the smell of cigarettes. She rubbed her nose but didn't move. "You've read the magazine. It's getting larger. This is the best way." He took a drag on his cigarette, and the smoke was spat out mixed with the words. Rebecca Bell blinked her eyes, feeling that he was joking. She thought, "Only a few photos led to our marriage? Usually, the rich child changed women as if they changed clothes. With all kinds of gossip news everywhere, they could still be cool and enjoy themselves. There was never a rich child who would get married after having a stupid scandal. Even if I don't understand the upper class, don't treat me as an idiot." It seemed like Luis Johnson knew what she was thinking. He said, "Or, you can treat this thing like I owe you a favor." He explained, "The stories Johnson Group are too complicated to be told in detail. In short, I'm caught in a dilemma. If we don't get married, we can't settle the matter." Rebecca Bell was silent for a while, then asked carefully, "Mr. Johnson, did you drink today?" "I'm not joking." He said. "But I find it funny," Rebecca Bell said with a green face. Mr. Johnson frowned. "If you think you're at a disadvantage, you can ask for benefits." She thought, "Sell me for the stupid benefits? Mr. Johnson, I'm just a common girl. Don't tease me." Without a word, Luis Johnson walked towards the car. After getting in the car, he put out the cigarette which just burned to its half and suddenly said, "Ten million, half a year, a secret marriage, sleep in separate rooms" Noticing that Rebecca Bell didn't respond, he added, "Ten million is your compensation. You will be secretly married for half a year. Half a year later, you can divorce at any time. During this period, no one will know that you are Mrs. Johnson. So life after the divorce will be the same as your current life. As for sleeping in separate rooms, I can guarantee that I will not touch you during the wedding." After that, he inserted the key into the keyhole and started the car. It seemed that he did not want to wait for Rebecca Bell's answer. The car was running smoothly. Rebecca Bell was sure that she had not told Luis Johnson her address, but the car was indeed driving towards her home. Did it mean that Luis Johnson had investigated her? Rebecca Bell was pretty sure that Luis Johnson was insane and perhaps he got ill. Half an hour later, the car stopped at the gate of Rebecca Bell's resident community. Rebecca Bell unfastened the seat belt, leaned aside and looked at the man beside her seriously, and said, "Mr. Johnson I'm not short of money. And I believe that many women are willing to marry you desperately. So, I'm sorry. I'll go to work, as usual, tomorrow morning and won't go to the Civil Affairs Bureau. If you're not happy and want to fire me, then go ahead. It only means I'm not lucky enough." After that, she pretended to be relaxed and shrugged. Luis Johnson looked at her in silence. After a long time, he said, "You will regret it." So she would be fired? "Forget it. That's it." She thought. "I don't care," she answered and then got out of the car. Luis Johnson looked at her slim figure through the window and pursed his lips slightly. After a while, he started the car.
