Nathan saw how Lizzy reacted when Aliyah introduced herself as a Luna. Lizzy’s expression changed and also instead of eating her food, she kept on playing with it until their mother had a word with her.
He knew with the way girls react, they would have a problem to resolve and he can feel it coming closer. He had known Lizzy to be a jealous girl but what would be she jealous of?
Does she also likes him or is it because of her personal space? He believes that she loves her space more than anything but Aliyah is taking no space from her.
He made a mental note to talk to her about it. If she badly wants to become a good Luna, then she must learn how to keep her emotions and feelings at bay. She should never let them intervene in her way.
Nathan knew she is a good girl with good morals because his mother raised her well but still, they said prevention is better than cure. He better have a word with her soon or things might go south for him.
Today, unlike the rest of the days. Nathan sat in his office going through the treatise sent to him by the neighboring pack. They were requesting for more guard and food as the war season is approaching.
Before his coming of age, he watched through as his father trained the guard. Sometimes he joined them because he knew he wasn’t going to depend on the guards. They have a life to live too, just like he does.
He had ordered for more omega that have reached the age to fight and also with the consent of them and their parents. He would never be that evil to send a kid or a man without his agreement.
He also make sure they sign an agreement on what will happen when they lose their life, what will happen to their families or what they would gain when they come from the war alive.
So far, he had gotten more than a hundred volunteers which he was happy with. He would sent at least the most strongest fifty to the neighborhood pack that requested and keep the rest at home incase something is to happen.
Nathan signed off the treatise, not forgetting to stamp it over before putting back into the pack designed envelope and kept it aside. He stretched a little before gulping down the water beside him, he was thirsty and couldn’t hold it in.
A gentle knock came on the door, he hurriedly finished the remaining water in the bottle before he answered with an almost silent “come in.”
Aliyah elegantly walked to the center of the office. She offered herself a seat before she turned to face him. He swallowed hard before he forced himself to stay strong for him self and his sanity.
“I asked around about you and I was told you were here. Never thought you will be the ‘I need to finish this paper’ guy but I saw it for myself.” She uttered smiling.
“ who told you that?” He questioned chuckling .
“Nobody , I just gave in to my thoughts which was even wrong.” She flirted smiling a smile.
The door was badged open by Dylan, he had never been to this tenses like that. “The south pack are attacking us.” He said panting.
Nathan knowing what he was doing, he hurriedly stood up trying to processs what Dylan had told him just some minute away. “ you mean they are still attacking after we had agreed to sign the treatise?” He furred his brows. He just don’t get why they were like that, they always go back on their word.
But he knew what to do, he would make sure to finish what they started. He will make sure to teach them a leason they would never be able to forget.
He made a promise and he would make he fulfill it, one thing he doesn’t do is go back on his word. He never does that, and never wishes to do it.
It is among one of the reason why people of the pack respect him more, he is honest and just. He passed punishment that serves any offender right. He make sure me they get the right punishment.
“Where are they now? And what is the state of out guard?” He questioned acting calm but deep down he knew he would lose it any time if anything was to go wrong.
“They started to attack the right wing but as you know, the guard there are one of the most strongest one we have, they were able to take them down.” Dylan replied.
Blood will be shed, the hospital will be full reeking of blood smell but that doesn’t matters. All that matter was the safety of his people, his pride and he needs him the most.
He picked the picket night he had always kept with him and headed to the door. “I want to join too.” He heard a petite voice called after him.
“No.” He boomed, leaving no room for her to argue.
“Nice to meet you, I am Aliyah, the last descendants of the kings pack. And this is my beta, Favor.” Favor flashed them a smile before they decided it was best for them to eat first before they get to business.
It only took Lizzy three minutes to finish her food and also wants to leave the dining room but it will sound not polite and her father will be so mad at her for doing such a thing.
He will rant and rant about her not giving the proper respect the guest deserves. He had done it once when his friend, the Alpha of the silver pack came to visit and she was then finding their conversation boring so she snuggled out of the room without everyone noticing.
She got an earful for doing that, and since then she has never tried something like that again. She loves her peace of mind more.
